Talking to Sid[]

On 360, I used the camera rotate glitch to talk to Sid. Instead of entering a conversation, he simply said, "Can't you see? They're all DEAD! It's all my fault!" I tried 3 times, and each time he said that. I managed to kill him by crouching and pickpocketing, putting a live frag mine in Sid's pocket.

thats all he pretty much says. anyways, i think another reason he might attack you if you open room 1 there is bodies in there.so they might be his friends but they were killed and he went mad.

Someone should mention[]

His higher than average health due to FEV exposure, the fact that he IS hostile when released from his cell and the isolation room door is opened by a terminal or fire alarm not lockpicking.

Possible Toy Story Reference?[]

In the Toy Story series, one of the characters is Sid, a crazy kid who has a fetish for breaking toys. Coupled with the fact that Sid in the game is insane, and the fact the he claims to have killed some other people, leads me to believe that the choice of his name might in fact be a reference to Sid from Toy Story.

Or maybe im just.. crazy...

No reference to Toy Story here. Move along. --Gothemasticator 08:41, August 14, 2010 (UTC)

Assault Rifle[]

360 version; when he was released through the fire alarm, he went after a centaur and pulled his pipe out, as usual... and put it up and pulled out a assault rifle.

can someone else confirm this? and should it be added to the main page?

The same happened to me - but I think he just picked up an assault rifle from one of the dead supermutants that I had killed beforehand. -146.90.47.251 20:31, June 17, 2018 (UTC)

Non-hostile, then dead[]

I picked the lock to his door so I wouldn't have to kill Sid--he behaved exactly as described. I even freed Fawkes (opening only his door), & Sid was still non-hostile. However, after returning to Vault 87 after escaping Raven Rock to pick up some missed loot, I found Sid mysteriously dead. Anyone else?--ElB (talk) 19:23, August 21, 2014 (UTC)

Picking the lock still turns Sid hostile[]

"Picking the lock to the door does not turn Sid hostile, and he will keep acting as if he was still locked in the cell." I don't want to make an edit because I'm not sure if the updated unofficial patch makes this change or not, but he's a green marker on my compass and he turns red regardless of the method I open the door. The only way I can get friendly dialogue with him as mentioned by anon in the first post on this page is if I use TCL to clip through the door. If I pick the lock from inside, he turns hostile immediately.—TigerNightmare (talk) 16:32, 2 October 2025 (UTC)
