"Sally is reffered to in the console as a ghost."
Bullshit. I can understand the cowboy, and the ninja, and the spaceman, and I can understand that the opening sequence is called "Buttprobe", but there is no way in hell she's a ghost. Nitty 02:42, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
It probably means shots will pass through her (i.e. like a ghost), making her invulnerable. I remember in TES Oblivion there was a command with a similar name: setghost 1, which did the same thing to a selected npc WouldYouKindly 03:03, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
What ever happened to canon? Nitty 03:10, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
Perhaps a bad wording it is however true. Using the console you can use the command GetIsGhost to find out if a character is marked as a ghost. This is part of the game engine, and give the character immunity to normal weapons, and since you can't enchant a weapon(edit: like in Oblivion where the engine and effect was first used), setting any npc as a ghost makes them for all intents and purposes, invulnerable.
Found this in DLC05SallyScript BEGIN ONLOAD if ghosted == 0 setghost 1 set ghosted to 1 endif END --Antipilor 00:40, 6 August 2009 (UTC)
In FO2, there's a ghost in the Den that you can help for good karma. So ghosts are canon in FO. Sally however, like the others already said, is not one.184.108.40.206 19:57, October 5, 2009 (UTC)
It's more than likely just due to how skittish game producers are over children dying in games. Heretic95 14:34, February 23, 2010 (UTC)
Sally's Sister Edit
The article says her sister was killed by the aliens, but Sally says that she does not know where her sister is whenever you ask her about her family. Is there a recording of the sister being killed or is there a corpse of her on the ship that i have missed? 220.127.116.11 12:00, 5 August 2009 (UTC)Sharbtur
Nothing. Though in one of those things where the aliens have experimented on humans, there is a gibbed body which looks suspiciously like that of a child. Jetholt (Jetty)
In Alien Captive Recording #12, you hear a young girl screaming and you can hear "Where's my sister!?!" You can clearly hear it in her voice that she is frightened and suffering soooo, yeah she might have died.
Why did they? Edit
Why did they leave her alive anyways? Did they think they could use her? And yes, the person seeing the aliens for the first time was her first recording(according to the G.E.C.K) 8 August 2009 (UTC)ForcedDj
I honestly believe they, for some reason, became sympathetic towards her. Not only for the fact that they didn't kill her despite her snooping around where she wasn't supposed to, multiple times. But also for the fact that in Captive recording 21, the aliens presented her with a Giddy-up buttercup. For apparently no reason other than to make her happy. In the log she remarks how the aliens 'look excited'. Presumably because she was happy with their 'gift'. That's my theory anyway. --18.104.22.168 05:12, 10 August 2009 (UTC)InternetDouche
They left her alive after doing the experiment to stop her ageing. They probably want to see how long she will live. How long the experiment will last.--A Pickering 22:32, January 5, 2010 (UTC)
Sally doesn't give me much. Edit
In multiple visits some of the things she's given me are: 2 alien biogels, and another time 1 alien epoxy, and once she game me an Alien Disintegrator. She's never given me ammo and according to the GECK she's supposed to give me 1000 caps worth of ammo, guns and supplies every day. Am I missing something? Elliot gives me a gun or two. BigMill 23:51, 13 August 2009 (UTC)
when you recive items from her, only one of the diffrent items will show up on your screen, "1 alien epoxy added" for example but in reality she might have given you ammo, weapons and biogel as well. check what you have in your inventory right before you talk to her the next time and check back at your invontory after you have talked to her. 22.214.171.124 11:19, 19 August 2009 (UTC)Sharbtur
double crosser Edit
i went to a closet and found here standing there. then she locked me. i got out but do you know why this happened
It's a game mechanic, she doesn't do it on purpose; fiddling with the console she accidentally manages to eject the contents of the garbage disposal unit into the waste disposal section of the ship. 126.96.36.199 20:09, August 1, 2010 (UTC)
- Yes, this is actually the continuation of that area. You are supposed to go down with the garbage. - Redmess (talk) 14:47, July 22, 2012 (UTC)
Why is Sally crawling through the vent a BioShock reference? I beat BioShock 6 1/2 times and have no idea what whoever said that is talking about. Monkeyman2547 00:02, December 30, 2009 (UTC)
- "Only problem is, I've met Dukov.", but BioShock in place of Dukov, huh? I've played it too, the animation is not similar to the Little Sisters and the symbols have no bearing on any BioShock stuff. Removed. Nitty Tok. 00:09, December 30, 2009 (UTC)
I made an edit, (Not an actual ghost), to tell people she isnt a ghost, and nitpicker of the wastes removed it. Any reason why? AreYouGoingToEatThatNuke? 22:00, January 15, 2010 (UTC)
There is no real evidence that Sally's sister is dead, just that they were seperated. She could still be frozen in a cryo pod somewhere on the ship. (The cryo labs have a s***load of tubes with people inside). I think that should be fixed. Tzaro the Outcast 15:26, January 24, 2010 (UTC)
I agree with Tzaro the Outcast.. there is nothing to support her sister being dead. The statement on her bio page should be edited 188.8.131.52 06:32, January 25, 2010 (UTC) Lucian Draogs
I think it was in the waste disposal where Sally was meant to be conta ting me via radio and opening doors for me. She did this, but the thing is that she was with me the whole time. Anyone else have this problem? If so I think it should be added to the glitch section.
Not relevent Edit
Sally's use of the air vents to move around the alien ship incognito is reminiscent of the character "Newt" from Aliens.
Should this be romoved, could so easily be a coincidence, other than speculative reference.
- If we had to include every instance in fiction where a child crawls through a vent to open a door, it'd be a long list indeed. Also, this is trivial at best. A similarity does not a reference make. - Redmess (talk) 14:50, July 22, 2012 (UTC)
I removed the line telling us she's an essential npc... Edit
... Because all kids are essential and cannot die without mods. Jackass2009 23:14, February 27, 2010 (UTC)
The line that she has been there "...a long while.", and the lack of initiative to kill her by the aliens, could it be that she is an experiment that ended up with a long life span? Axier 15:08, March 4, 2010 (UTC)
We have a cowboy and a Samurai onboard as well if she spent 298 years frozen that leaves two years unfrozen to study the ship.
Ship Dissapearence Edit
Once this add-on is complete, does the ship disapear? If it does, how do you talk to sally?--Vault4 16:22, March 22, 2010 (UTC)
The ship doesn't dissapear. You can go back to the same spot in the wasteland (where the signal originated from) and use a beacon to go back to the ship. However once the quest is completed, not all areas are now accessible. Baxter776 12:46, June 23, 2010 (UTC)
Sandman Infinite Experience Glitch works on Sally Edit
Yep, just like the one with the kid in Andale. If you've beaten MZ already, you're out of luck. The only bed available is a makeshit bedding that appears under the stairs in the engineering core after you've blown up one or two of the reaction things in the Hangar, Cryo Labs, or Robot Assembly (near where Toshiro Kago, the samurai, hangs out before running away). Sometimes Toshiro Kago, Eliott Torcerian, Somah, or Paulson can be found sleeping on the bedding, so it makes it easier if you just kill them all (no karma loss, others who are alive at the time won't become hostile, and you can get some good unique items). Of course just wait til nighttime. Sally might not sleep some nights so just wait til the next night and see if she's sleeping then. When you perform the sandman murder, you won't get a throat cutting animation, instead your character will do the "lay down to goto sleep" animation you see npc's doing. You'll immeaditely get back up though without an animation.
This is useful for getting to level 30 for the Karma achievements/trophies if you forgot to save before leveling up to 30 on your last save or whatever. You could clear your cache and do the Big Town glitch (much much slower, only 7 at a time), or the original glitch in Andale, but your level cap goes back down to 20 so this is the only exp. glitch with the patches. Might work with Kenny in Point Lookout, but I doubt it.
Of course, sometimes there's a glitch that sends you into oblivion and you must reload, but this is easily avoidable by doing the murders in first person. After performing the murder and watching the "lay down" animation, you'll switch back the first person and do a little bounce, i.e. lowering as if you went from standing to sneaking height. Wait a full second til you're all the way down before attempting to sandman murder again. If you click on her before coming all the way down, and select murder you will ALWAYS get the oblivion glitch. You can just select pickpocket if you select her on accident, in which case she'll get up and speak to you and then go back to sleep. Saving often also helps, due to accidents.
Important: It is probably impossible to change your karma on the ship, with nothing to steal and only 4 people to kill, who don't result in negative karma anyways when you kill them. So if you're trying to get more than one karma level 30 achievement/trophy, watch you're exp. progress and save right before turning level 30 (or 29, if you plan to use Here and Now to skip the last level). At level 30, if you choose one of the karma perks to make your karma Very Evil, Neutral, or Very Good, you will unlock the achievement for whichever corresponding perk you choose, no matter what your karma level was before. For example, if you are Very Evil, and when you level up to 30 choosing the Escalator to Heaven (or whatever it's called) to make your karma Very Good, you will unlock the achievement for being Very Good at level 30, but not Very Evil. Then you're just two reloads away from the others.
You get 50 exp. for each "kill", and up to 65 with the Swift Learner perk. 72 if you are Well Rested (will need the perk that gives you sleep bonus on any bed, since normally a makeshift bedding won't give you the Well Rested bonus). Difficulty does not affect the amount of exp. you receive.
-Done on Xbox 360
-All patches and DLC installed
Wrist seams Edit
Sally appears to have visible seams where her hands connect to her wrists, is this a common bug? it would explain why most other characters have clothing covering that area.
Sally's Cache Edit
Is it possible to use the Child at Heart perk to access the alien stash after completing Mothership Zeta. General Geers 11:08, April 10, 2012 (UTC)
Voice Actor Edit
I've completed Mothership Zeta, and afterwards I have tried several times to pickpocket Sally, but every time it opens the dialogue box. I don't even get a failed attempt notification. Has this happened to anyone else? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Player Hater (talk • contribs) 15:19, April 25, 2018 (UTC). Please sign your posts with ~~~~!
