Once Rylee leaves the building, if you did not talk to her, where does she end up? = SamousInd. (talk) 11:29, December 6, 2015 (UTC)

She sleeps right north of Westing estate at the water on a mattress. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.123.9.96 (talkcontribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~!

She reappears at various unmarked locations for random encounter. 92.22.253.197 23:12, December 19, 2015 (UTC)

Just a heads up, had success getting Rylee to a settlement and assigning her to a general trader both on ps4 by recruiting her to kingsport landing, then following her till I was in the settlement. Once in the settlement I used the workstation to move her to another settlement and she arrived there immediately and ready to be assigned. Her speech is still buggey but she will work as vendor if assigned that way.

About the bug with not being able to hire Rylee[]

I can confirm (on PC) that Rylee's dialog sometimes does not show the option of talking about her vault suit and also because of that it will not show the option to recruit her since dialog options are very nicely limited to 4 in this game and only 1 talk option can be spared for barterers.

I'm totally a scientist here and my strong belief is that it only happens when you don't talk to her when you find her at Lukowski's and my logic stems from the way I could fix the bug.

The way I fixed this bug was by going outside of Longneck Lukowski's cannery, writing in console "prid 3eff3", "enable" and "moveto player". Maybe it was in a different order but it doesn't matter. She didn't show up so I enabled her. So then her dialog options worked again and I could talk about the vault suit and recruit her.

So many bugs at Lukowski's on just the dialogs, with Theodore Collins and even with Rylee. Sucks.

Had some luck getting around the non hiring glitch on ps4 and xbox I've tried this a few times and it worked most of the time. First let her finish her speech and walk outside (don't follower her) talk to the guy to start the quest and then before going going into the basement go outside and talk to rylee. Fist ask her about people getting (top option), then vault suit(top option), then it should open up the next line of dialog which is work for me.a couple of times she answered with I'm confused, just try again and it should work.

First attempt I asked to to work for me after choosing which settlement to send to she said shes confused then continues talking about trading and theo in same conversation I try again and she agrees to work for me so I asign her to Sanctuary Hills .Upon ariving there shes nowhere to be found and doesnt show when waiting or resting (unsure if settlement population has changed as I did'nt check it before hand) Any fix for this? Im xbox one so please no console commands or anythjng like that -_- Blitzbear93 (talk) 18:45, January 27, 2016 (UTC)Blitzbear93

Tried the aforementioned fix for the sick people dialog bug. No effect. Found her at the campfire east of the Museum of Freedom. Looks like the script has her to wander the same paths as Doc Anderson.

Dialog and population bug[]

She does not refuse if you have a free slot, but her dialog seems to be bugged. When trying to hire her for the first time she acts like if you quited the dialog without choosing a location for her(even when you choose it). But in the same time the game already counted her for population. So if you had only 1 free slot, you won`t be able to send her to that settlement again, it will look grey. The way around this is either to have 2 free settlers slots in the same settlement or to choose another settlement and then to move her in workshop mode where you need her. Population does not stay bugged(incorrect) forever, it will be fixed if you visit the settlement.

Most Recent Occurrence[]

Played it this way. Entered cannery, listened to argument, let her walk out of cannery without speaking with her. Did not speak with Theodore Collins or start Mystery Meat. Immediately left cannery and spoke with her outside, she was confused and could not be recruited. Ended conversation, immediately attempted again and successfully recruited her (to The Castle). She did not immediately show up after I fast traveled. Slept 12 hours and she was there working the food. Reassigned her to the highest-end trading post. She began working it. I went off to do a few quests that took a day or so. Came back and she was gone. On PC used console to travel to her. She was in the holding place. Teleported myself back to The Castle and used the moveto command to bring her back. She immediately walked back to the trading post, retaining her previous orders. She's been there straight for four days so far. This exercise rebuts the previously unverified bug that says she only disappears if you do Mystery Meat. Revised the text for this on the main article.--DocSilence (talk) 01:26, December 27, 2017 (UTC)

Addendum: She stayed in my settlement as a working vendor for over a week, and I stopped tracking. However, at one point she just vanished. The calendar said 18 days from the day I established her as a vendor. Attempting to teleport to her brought me to a small campfire west of the Peabody house, where I encountered Clinton and Charlie. There was no visible corpse and nothing invisible to interact with. Guess she's still bugged as hell.--DocSilence (talk) 04:04, December 28, 2017 (UTC)

Recruiting[]

I added a full resolve to the issue in a very lengthy Note. Please feel to edit or format it. As a footnote, when I tested her I did everything I could think of to have her FAIL being recruited. Believe me, there are a LOT of fails. What I posted in notes turned out to be the only way to assure 100% success. Letting her leave and speaking to her outside can work, but not every time and there is a random enemy spawn point in that location. Speaking at all to Theodore or going into the cannery also causes recruitment fail sometimes. Only at the door as she is prepared to leave works every time but she still must be escorted. She fails to show at the settlement at least 30% of the time. Vanishes off the map and moveto fails. She's gone. And vanishing from the settlement after being assigned a duty. Still can happen. I am presently testing this. It appears to have something to do with settlement happiness OR population and accommodations. She's not cooperating and remains in place so now I have to skew the settlement to find out what else is going on. So far only the console TAI assures she will stay there, turning it on when the PC is present. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Oceaxe (talkcontribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~!

Thanks for the information, I made a follow-up edit to format it with the rest of the article. LaymansReign (talk) 17:06, 12 February 2023 (UTC)
Thanks for the fix up. I hope this clears up the confusion about this issue. I wonder if it should be mentioned the only way to be assured she will stay at a settlement is to TAI when leaving the settlement and again when returning. Apparently the bug is in her AI and continually running. Oceaxe (talk)
