Isn't most of the stuff here something that should be described in the quest instead? I think it should be stated that he has a major role in the tower quest, but not all this stuff about wether or not killing him and the outcome of the quest.

Yeah, I'd agree. There should be just a short summary of his role in the quest and a link to the main quest page. // Porter21 U | T | C 12:02, 20 December 2008 (UTC)

I believe it should be mentioned that he makes a partnership with mister burke if you complete the megaton bombb quest in Burke's favour after tenpenny tower. Roy is intimidated that Burke is able to progress to the top level of the ghoul infested tower and agrees to blow up megaton.

Probably forum stuff[]

But at my school there is a little boy in kindergarten whos name is Roy Phillips, lol

Roy Phillips seems to be a rather common name. There's also a character in the TV series "The Shield" called Roy Phillips, an assistant chief of police. --201.79.173.243 22:44, 4 February 2009 (UTC)

Where is Roy? He disappeared. I need to talk to him about peace agreements!

Shouldda been prepared[]

Every time I ever play the Tenpenny Tower quest,Roy dies.I think he needs more training. HuangLee 19:38, 7 February 2009 (UTC)

I've played the game trough about ten times now, and every time I let him into the tower to kill everyone, he dies quickly. He has never survived. A couple of times I've even been unable to find his corpse. Next times, I'll kill him myself. He's not worthy anymore...:P

Her?[]

Out of boredom I killed Roy as soon as I approached the Tower, and could hear the responses from the other side. I have subs set to always on, so I'm sure I didn't mishear it--they said, "Better her than me." This is the 360 version, no patches or upgrades of any kind.

This happens very often, and I have the latest patch (1.6) for PC. Sometimes people say "Better her than me", sometimes "Better him than me". But it mostly doesn't fit the gender of the killed. So it not only affects Roy Phillips, but anyone.

It seems to depend on player gender, obviously a glitch.Atlas Lied! 07:45, April 22, 2010 (UTC)

Probably the same bug as Oblivion: Shivering Isles had. The game checks the "wrong person" for gender, and chooses the sentence based on this.

Bad Karma.[]

Killing Roy will give you bad karma, i accepted this if you killed him for the guards, however after he kills all of tenpenny tower humans you would think he would be evil but no, he's still 'good'. Can anyone else see a slight flaw here. He killed loads of innocent people he's a good person?

I don't like him. So i blew his head off. BOOM! 'you have lost karma'

DAMN IT! WHY!
also doesn't he drop an ear?

JASPER42

Yep, gotta agree with you, I killed him too. I'm not a bigot by the way too. Gunz of liberty 00:13, July 28, 2011 (UTC)

He does drop an ear[]

I had the contract killer perk, and after I killed Roy, he had an ear. So I edited the page so it says he has an ear :P

Why the hell is Roy considered "Good"?[]

He is a bigot who hates humans and wants to kill everyone at Tenpenny Tower, and if you help him out him and his followers do in fact kill everyone there. But for some reason despite that he is considered "Good". How can that be? I accept that Alistair Tenpenny and a number of other residents in the tower are bad people, but not all of them are. Roy kills everyone, even the good residents. He even kills Dashwood who is a friend of Ghouls. So I don't understand why it is good karma to help him murder everyone, but if you try to stop his murderous rampage you get bad karma. How can that be right? --99.181.117.14 01:24, March 13, 2011 (UTC)

Cause Three Dog is a ghoul lover and he's the one that spreads the word on your Karma. Rolen47 17:57, June 2, 2011 (UTC)

Fuck Roy phillips. I wanted them to live peacefully so that I could get the Ghoul mask without any karma loss. But nooooooooo he was like this to Tenpenny, Tenpenny: I hate ghouls. Roy phillips: *pops out of nowhere and some how managed to get past security*, FUCK YOU TENPENNY AND NOW YOU MUST DIE. Tenpenny: Wha- head goes flying. I killed Roy phillips and his followers, ( Not the ghoul residents) in order to ensure peace. I wanted peace. But sadly, in the wasteland I must do things the hard way. Human Body Bug[]

"If killed and stripped, Roy Phillips will appear to have a regular, non-ghoul body except for his head. [verified]"

How is this verified? His race is ghoul. There's no possible way for one race's body to have another race's head as it is in this one case. This has not occurred in any of the other hundreds of characters in the game other than Talon Company Mercs, but this is due to a lighter skin tone caused by a bug, not a new race entirley. 69.125.134.190 20:32, May 14, 2013 (UTC)
