It says in the article that the eye intercoms in Raven Rock can be deactivated, but I can't seem to do it. Has this feature been removed by a patch? Either way I find it funny that if you shoot at the eyes a couple of times the cursor goes red, like eden is angry, yet nothing happens cause he can't do anything about it

I have PC version on Fallout 3 Game of the Year version, and the Robotics Expert seems not to work on robots at L.O.B enterprises.

I confirmed that the perk was working OK by getting out of L.O.B and fast traveling to National Guard Depot, it worked like a charm there, i disabled multiple robots there with no problem.

Then quick traveled back to L.O.B and the robots there just complain "do not interfere..." and the deactivate/talk option just wont pop out like it should.

I have sneak 100, Chinese Stealth Suit, Shady Hat, and popped a Stealth Boy to be sure, but no help.

(I recall playing the original unpatched version immediately as the FO3 came out and am quite certain i could disable L.O.B robots back then...)

[fallout 3]This perk thanks to the description on the main page is more useful then I thought it was at first. Fun, but meh. Robots for some reason have the WORST AI in fallout 3, they will fall into much more amusing traps involving landmines. Also can anyone confirm if bypassing the wasteland survival guide leg using this part satisfies the optional requirement for the quest reward?-Accountless Avenger

It does fulfill the requirement

This is a very good perk. Unfortunately, it tends to be overlooked, but bear in mind that sentry bots (especially Enclave Sentry bots) are extremely strong, and it takes only a flick of a switch to disable them with this perk. The +25% bonus damage and added speech options are also a nice addition to the perk. A lot better than entomologist and Lady killer/black widow.
yes, better than those perks, but taken later, when other better perks have become available. Robots may be stronger and harder to kill than ants etc, but fire ants are overall much more annoying than most robots. Disabling robots is kinda a waste of time (imo) because it loses xp unless you fire at them in free aim, in which case it loses ammo (because free-aim is less effective than VATS)Crimmastermind 06:01, 13 March 2009 (UTC)
I agree with you up to a point. Robot Expert is good for 1 thing and that's the disabling of robots, which it does beautifully, you just have to know how to. Basically you have to be in sneak mode and the robot can't see you. That means that it DOES work if you hide behind a corner and wait. Just make sure you click the robot before he actually fully turns the corner and he's down for the count. As for wasting ammo, try ducking behind them before you shoot the disabled body, it counts as a sneak attack critical, even punching, and the ammo they drop is pretty useful. The extra language options are a good plus(Talk to Cerberus in Underworld.) and the bonus damage is good when you can't trick them, which is rare too. - Azurecharade

Why are you even worried about not getting XP for disabling a robot? I hit level 20 long before I run out of sources for XP. I've got quests to complete that I'm not even going to bother with until they raise the cap. SpellChecker 19:39, 28 March 2009 (UTC)

The reason why this is a good perk is that it speeds up gameplay. You can fly through robot-centered quests, random encounters, and other robot-infested buildings when you have this perk. I view it as similar to Animal Friend in that it helps break the monotony of having to stop, hide, stalk, attack all of the time. 67.172.16.255 15:53, 4 April 2009 (UTC)

I wish that Bethesda would let you re-program a robot to follow you with this perk.--Дикий Человек Вампира 05:49, 24 July 2009 (UTC)

Mister Gutsy in Fort Bannister

I was unable to disable this robot for some reason

you were sneaking? after the patch just walking to them and disabling while in combat doesn't work anymore. RG (xbox) 16:10, 4 April 2009 (UTC)

Cyborgs

Shouldnt you be allowed to disable cyborgs with this perk? 67.172.16.255 22:15, 9 May 2009 (UTC)

Realistically speaking, the technology in an android is much more complex than a robot, so no, you should not be able to. [Composite 4] (My Talk)

Eden's eye intercoms

It says in the article that the eye intercoms in Raven Rock can be deactivated, but I can't seem to do it. Has this feature been removed by a patch? Either way I find it funny that if you shoot at the eyes a couple of times the cursor goes red, like eden is angry, yet nothing happens cause he can't do anything about it

Unable to disable robots in L.O.B enterprises ? (PC GOTY)
