Unique combat knife or kitchen knife? Re-skinned? Gabriel Cortez 22:17, 22 June 2009 (UTC)

Im pretty sure we will find out, but right now we don't know. Big McLargeHuge 22:28, 22 June 2009 (UTC)

Given the name, it might be used for something important maybe? Shady Shades 22:33, 22 June 2009 (UTC)

I'm going to guess it has something to do with the cult... Zyan 71.196.144.139 13:45, 23 June 2009 (UTC)

You find it from the "The Dark Heart of Blackhall" Quest.

This item seams to be a unique version of the Knife.

where do you get this?

I've killed two Behemoths in 1 and 2 hits with the Ritual Knife in VATS! It is ridiculously fast, sometimes I get 11 attacks or more (with Ledoux's mask, Ranger Armor, Jet). As a disclaimer, I play on the PC with the Ultimate Perk Pack mod, but still, it takes 4-5 swipes to kill most humans and ghouls (more for swamp folk, brutes, glowing ones, etc), and only 1 or 2 to kill a Behemoth with it. The Behemoths were at full strength, on Very Hard setting, and I was 20-something level. I wonder if a critical hit on a Behemoth is an instant kill or massive multiplier. Correction: I turned off all the PC mods and tried the Behemoth in the Capital building. Didn't work. Took me 6-7 VATS rounds with the Ritual Knife (12-15 attacks per round) to kill it (with several crits) but not like before. Must have been a mod bug. Medeasin 20:43, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

has anyone done a comparison to see if this knife is better than the stabhappy?--Swizzler 06:38, 12 July 2009 (UTC)

I think the Ritual Knife is better if you already have a high crit chance (e.g. 10 luck + finesse + (working)ninja + survival expert = 33%), because the lower crit multi will still lift it to nearly 100%, so you don't need the x4 from stabhappy. The ritual knife has a higher crit damage, so if you are critting all the time anyway, the base damage is irrelevant. You are doing more DPS with the ritual knife either in or outside VATS, and also the initial sneak attack will deal more damage. Assuming you have better criticals, we are talking 44 vs. 54 - not exceptionally high in relation to other weapons *terrible shotgun cough cough* but if you do a sneak attack and then instantly want to open VATS, you can't switch weapons in between, so this 10 more will maybe mean one slice less. On a lighter note, the knife model better fits to the default slicing animation for one-handed melee - Stabhappy (or any combat knife of that matter) should be really stabbed, but unfortunately is not.--87.158.235.58 22:25, March 9, 2010 (UTC)

BUG In the PS3 DLC version, When I Got To The Area With The Book and the dead body, there was NO Ritual Knife! Possible Collision Detection Glitch, i think it fell through the table. When I entered the 'Basement' misc. objects were falling from the ceiling!

The ritual knife, thanks to bethesda's genius craftmanship, will fall through the table for the PS3 version. I have tried to retrive it several times by reloading a previous save, and it just doesnt appear. If you circle the table, however, you can hear it bouncing around the inside, so you might be able to get it the same way you get Autum's Overcoat.--Demos99 06:38, October 11, 2009 (UTC)

Thanks Demos99. I'm not gonna bother trying to do the glitch for the knife. I'm a gun nut. DrunkenSushi 07:48, October 11, 2009 (UTC)

same thing happened to me on the PS3 version, the kinfe fell through the table. But i decided to throw about 7 frag grenades around the table and the knife flew out.

I saw it bouncing around. The handle was outside the table and was bouncing but the blade was stuck in the god damn table.I wish I wouldda known the trick before I left point Lookout.I guess I'm just gonna have to go back.Really.I'm that obsessed with rare variants and collectibles.
