Ringo Edit

Probably a refference to Johnny Ringo, enemy of Wyatt Earp and Doc Holiday, rather than Ringo Starr, enemy of dinosaurs in Caveman. (Interesting fact, Randy Quaid was in Caveman and played Doc Holiday in Wyatt Earp)—Preceding comment was unsigned. Please sign your posts with ~~~~!

No. Star's more likely because who hasn't heard of Ringo Star?JASPER//"Do you like hurting other people?"UserRichard 11:41, October 3, 2010 (UTC)

Neither of them is likely until we have a reason to see a similarity. Until we have something to go on, Ringo is just a name and no reference at all.--Gothemasticator 12:21, October 3, 2010 (UTC)

Hey Jasper, get your facts right. It's Starr,or Starkey.Gotta know your Beatles Trivia.Sorry,I was joking. Now that I read over this comment I've realized that it went too far.Again,sorry.(Awesomeo3000 21:24, October 3, 2010 (UTC))

Don't insult other editors. --Kris User Hola 21:46, October 3, 2010 (UTC)

I agree that it's highly unlikely to be a reference to Ringo Starr. While he may be the most well-known Ringo in history, he's certainly not the only one, and the name "Ringo" is not in itself strong enough to make for a reference in any context. I can see it being a reference to Johnny Ringo, but without some other evidence to back it up, it's mere speculation. --Kris User Hola 23:14, October 3, 2010 (UTC)

Hey guys, friendly Beatles fan from Liverpool here - NOT a reference to Ringo Starr LOL. More likely the first entry, Johnny Ringo. kthx

Who is Ringo Starr, anyway ? What the point to place abstruse local references only few people know in a game played in the entire world ? My poodle's name is Ringo. Perhaps this character is a reference to my dog...

Holy shit, you don't know the Beatles' drummer? D: Nitty Tok.
Per the above. The unsigned commenter is likely either very young or very repressed/sheltered. Or a combination of both. {{SUBST:Signatures/YuriKaslov}} 04:55, December 29, 2010 (UTC)

"He doesnt know who Ringo Starr is?" Exclaimed Thomas "I know" said Percy "I don't believe it either, I almost blew a stack when I heard that". Agent c 20:16, May 6, 2012 (UTC)

Just a name? Edit

Is it at all possible that Ringo is just a name, and not a reference to anyone else named Ringo?

Current quotation Edit

The current quotation doesn't even make sense if the Courier chooses to help Joe Cobb in Run Goodsprings Run. They will never meet up with Ringo in the Crimson Caravan Company later on (which is where this quote is from). I'd much rather add a quote by him from within the Gas Station at Goodsprings instead. Rappy 19:38, May 6, 2012 (UTC)

I can agree with that logic. Go for it. Dragon Skål! 19:40, May 6, 2012 (UTC)
I agree also, but for different reasons. The current quote seems to be a quote for a quotes sake. It doesn't tell us much about the character. Agent c 19:41, May 6, 2012 (UTC)
Rappy, by that logic, you wouldn't hear half of the Caesar's Legion quotes if you were working with the NCR. I do agree that a different quote is needed, but your logic is terribly flawed. -- Bacon-Man Talk to me goose! 19:42, May 6, 2012 (UTC)
Actually, in that instance, it isn't. When you reach New Vegas Strip, you are absolved by Caesar and asked to visit him. You can easily get all those quotes at that time. With Ringo, you don't ever have to talk to him if you talk to Joe Cobb (which you interact with first if you follow the quests) and help him take-over Goodsprings. Ringo refuses to talk to you if you've decided to help Joe Cobb (and any quotes taken from there would also seem to be in odd context). Rappy 20:12, May 6, 2012 (UTC)
You don't ever have to talk with anybody, though. I do like the new quote, it's much better. However, it isn't just from a Caesar's Legion standpoint. Let's say you finish the game with House, NCR, or Legion; you would never talk to Yes Man. As per your specific argument, even if you agree to help Joe Cobb, you can still talk with Ringo, even if he tells you to F off because you talked with Joe Cobb. -- Bacon-Man Talk to me goose! 20:26, May 6, 2012 (UTC)
True enough. I just didn't like a quote that was based off a circumstantial sequence-of-events rather than a quote from "first contact". :) Rappy 20:32, May 6, 2012 (UTC)

It's Jimmy Ringo Edit

This is obviously a reference to the 1950 western classic "The Gunfighter."

Ringo Starr doesn't even make sense at all. How would anyone even think that was relevant?
