Stealing Independence quest? Edit

How's the Red Racer Factory linked with Stealing Independence quest? RDGST 21:14, 29 November 2008 (UTC)

It is not, it is related to the nuka-cola challenge quest. --84.203.65.14 22:20, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

Giant Teddy Bear? Edit

I went to get the Dean's Electric book, and I turn to see a giant teddy bear on a tricycle. I shoot it for no particular reason, and it falls. Not only that, but you can take the bear! I don't think it's as big as before you take it, but it's still larger than normal. Are there any others like this? (A Wanderer) 01:40, 3 February 2009 (UTC)

Please excuse this. It was a double-post

--Year of the Fox 09:36, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

Moved from Notes:

  • If you place it on the bed in My Megaton house along with a normal sized one and leave, it sometimes will have reverted to normal size when you return. (This happened on the Xbox360.)DarthOrc 04:19, June 22, 2011 (UTC)DarthOrc

After a couple of hours spent testing, I could not replicate these results on PC. No matter what cell I left the giant bear in, with or without normal-sized bears, allowing 73+ hours to pass and moving to multiple locations, my bear stayed big. Please help me verify: On what platform did the shrinking bear occur? Did you have a large number of other items on display in your home at the time? Did you loot a large number of bears after placing the giant bear on the bed?

Fifthace135 14:56, June 21, 2011 (UTC)

The Big Teddy bear shrank while I was playing on the Xbox360.DarthOrc 04:19, June 22, 2011 (UTC)DarthOrc

Unrelated? Edit

I recently edited the Red Racer Factory in relation to a bug/glitch whereby a critical shot made with an energy weapon, something that reduces the target to ash/goo, will still cause the head explosion event in relation to experiments being made by The Surgeon. However, it was removed due to it being 'Not really related to this article'. How is this so? I could understand if I made an exploding headshot with a regular weapon, but would this not clearly constitute a glitch that ties directly to the Red Racer factory? --Year of the Fox 09:35, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

Well, feel free to undo it then. From the wording, it wasn't clear to me that you were referring to the scripted head explosion event - which led me to believe you were talking about a general bug with plasma/fire weapons, which is why I reverted it. // Porter21 U | T 10:20, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

Ah! Alright. I see what you mean. Sorry about the confusion. I'll be more careful in the future. --Year of the Fox 10:27, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

No problem, at least partly my fault :-) Not quite awake today it seems. // Porter21 U | T 10:30, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

Blasted Jumpsuits... Edit

Are there any Red Racer jumpsuits in the factory? I can't find any. Seems ironic, there being no jumpsuits in the factory of the same company. Nitpicker of the Wastes 04:00, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

The article on the jumpsuits indicates that there is, but this page doesn't say one way or the other. I suppose I can peek in the GECK and see what I can see. Deadlykris 01:33, July 5, 2010 (UTC)
The only one I see placed anywhere in the game world is at Potomac Attire in Rivet City (RCHangar cell). Aside from that, it only appears in the inventories of Jenny Stahl, Lucky Harith, and in the form list RepairClothingRedRacer. It doesn't even seem to be in any leveled lists. Deadlykris 01:39, July 5, 2010 (UTC)
You're more than a year late, but thanks! I wondered why they weren't there. Nitty Tok. 01:41, July 5, 2010 (UTC)
I went ahead and fixed the jumpsuit article too :) I wondered if you'd notice, and if noticing, you'd bother to comment at this late date :D Deadlykris 01:59, July 5, 2010 (UTC)
Yay for not letting stuff go. :P Nitty Tok. 02:10, July 5, 2010 (UTC)

Bugs section. Edit

Some guy put this under the bugs section: "Found in PC (v1.5) the radio in The Surgeon's room is playing snippets of Three Dog speaking about main quest completion. (Eg, speaking from 'the future'). He is talking about the water purifier being activated with clean water, while not even having visited GNR for the first time, let alone activating the purifier."

I removed it since it can happen anywhere. --steven0r 00:49, 10 August 2009 (UTC)

My bad Edit

Sorry for that 1st person explanation, fixed it now. Troy242621 19:31, December 6, 2009 (UTC)

unconfirmed bugsEdit

someone needs to confirm this bug with more than two editors and it needs to be condensed to match The Vault guidelines.

  • When using an energy weapon such as the Plasma Rifle or Laser Pistol, if a critical hit is made thus turning the creature to goo/ash, the script that calls for the head explosion (i.e., the failsafe put in by The Surgeon) will still occur, and the head will explode in chunks as though it were still there (it will explode out of the remains a few moments later). These chunks will identify as the creature you'd just killed, does not enable double looting from the same corpse. If you shoot in the heads in VATS mode, the game may freeze probably because of those built-in chips (confirmed on PS3 version, didn't happen on 360).

You can get in Stefan's cage without using the key, get out a melee weapon,(proven with Jack) and target him in VATS and you will attack him in the cage. be warned though this is quite useless because if you did not get the key you will be stuck in the cage with no way out, unless the console is used. Additionally, after killing the surgeon on the PS3 Version of the game, upon looting The Surgeon and grabbing his/her tinted reading glasses, they did not appear in the inventory, to suddenly reappear after exiting the place. It does not add weight. Upon acquiring the glasses, their weight was added. The cause of this is unknown. (Unconfirmed if reoccuring)

--Kingclyde 08:33, February 13, 2010 (UTC)

The exploding heads bug does happen, but shooting in the head does not seem to cause a freeze (PC). I noticed this when using A3-21's plasma rifle and put a note under the Talk page for the plasma rifle. Wunengzi 20:41, August 27, 2010 (UTC)

G'yeth Edit

Why does this sound Irish Gaelic... meh, probably isn't. Nukey (talk) 01:11, August 6, 2010 (UTC)

Stefan's Early Release Edit

(XBox 360) Fought the Surgeon using my own Missile Launcher. She was in her room, near the electric machines when she was finally blown up. Before I took two steps forward, there is Stefan. Didn't touch the key, her corpse, anything. Didn't even know he was in a cage, but he certainly opened it himself - I found it open.

Anybody else get something like this? --DaedalusMachina 10:14, August 24, 2010 (UTC)

Garage Door? Edit

Up where you find the copy of Dean's Electronics, the piece of machinery there has what appears to be 2 vented panels on the top, south side. Facing south and crouching on the toolbox, the left panel is somewhat damaged and the right is in good condition. However, when I aim at the right panel, I'm getting the interaction prompt "Open Garage Door". Pressing the A button (Xbox 360) only changes the prompt to "Close Garage Door". No other changes occur: no sounds, no additional exits marked on the local map, nothing.

Does anyone know what, if anything, this does? Thanks. metalheadHippie "It is not when or where men are born, but what they do that makes them brothers." (talk) 02:18, January 21, 2014 (UTC)

Where are the 17 harmonicas? Is that accurate? Edit

I've looked all over! This needs verification. (I'm on PS3) -- Anon
