time to break out the turpentine. -DragonJTSLeave me a message 15:21, 5 May 2009 (UTC)

How exactly does this work? You hold ten Nuka-Cola's in your inventory and they become a Quantum? That's really weird.

arg, I wish idd known this before I drank them all lol

Yay, I can make more grenades now. SpellChecker 16:51, 5 May 2009 (UTC)

What about "Ice Cold Nuka Cola"? I have about 150 of those, but no normal stuff.

I hope ice cold ones count, cause they're all I got -DragonJTSLeave me a message 18:26, 5 May 2009 (UTC)

The article says ice cold nukas don't work... that really sucks... because I've been storing all of mine in the damn fridge! LOL... crap! 22:00, 5 May 2009 (UTC)

DAMNIT! I just discovered I have more then 200 in my fridge. I've grabebd everyone i've found, tossed it in my fridge, then forgot about them when I started getting enoguh caps to buy lost of stimpacks. There's probably not a damn drop left in the capital wasteland, i've horded it all. I'll just have to steal all of sierra's. -DragonJTSLeave me a message 22:07, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
The less scrupulous among us are double-stuffed; Sierra's cola is already in my fridge. Or maybe you killed her and are afraid of Ronald Laren's Kneecapper.-- 01:43, 6 May 2009 (UTC)
Oh, i'll have to take that when I'm stealing her cola. Thanks for the reminder lol. My good karma character is still new at this whole "killing and looting" thing. -DragonJTSLeave me a message 01:45, 6 May 2009 (UTC)

omg dito all 200 plus of my cola is ice cold... does anybody actually sell the normal stuff..? because a never ending supply of Nuka Grenades sounds like FUN!TheRepublicOfDave 02:27, 7 May 2009 (UTC)

Sometimes merchants will sell regular Nuka, especially junk/food vendors. I feel your pain though, I have almost 400 ice cold Nuka Cola that are apparently just about worthless to me. Sigh... 02:44, 7 May 2009 (UTC)Cavesloth

Ok this just sucks IS it possiable that this is like a bug or something that ice cold nuka cola dosent work ???

I'm guessing, not, I think its because the ice cold ones are worth more, so presumably you might want to sell them rather than convert
though this seems dumb...

In all honesty, for perfectionist players, there's way to much stuff in the new expansion to NOT justify an entire replay, between this and
almost perfect. SIGH, time for a third play through...

I have a problem.. I reached level 22 and the Quantum Chemist perk wasn't available to me. It was grayed out. Anybody else encounter this? EDIT: Gah! Ne'er mind. For some reason the Science skill of 70 req. wasn't listed in my game. Must be yet another bug. Same thing happened with the -1 STR effect of Aqua Pura, until I drank it. -- 21:09, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

Does this like automaticly give you a quantum for EVERY nuka you EVER got, or just the ones in you inventory, and lets

say, you get this, get your 10, and get a quantum, now you have 9, you get another nuka, does that get converted to?

Every time you have 10 in your inventory it converts all 10 into 1 quantum. So the 9 thing doesn't work. 05:21, 20 May 2009 (UTC)Cavesloth

The Ice-Cold ConundrumEdit

Honestly, this is the second-stupidest thing Bethesda has done in Fallout 3. Not that I'm a hater... I think it's an awesome game, and I've spent countless hours playing it! But let's face it: first, prior to Broken Steel (i.e. the "original" game ending), you couldn't send Fawkes into the control booth to shut down the Project Purity reactor, even though he's totally immune to radiation - a fact which was already established previously in the plot missions and was essential to getting the GECK. No, instead, Fawkes just stood there and watched either the player or Lyons sacrifice their lives doing something that would have taken him ten seconds and not even caused him the slightest discomfort. And he's supposed to be a "good karma" follower? Please. I could see Charon enjoying that scenario, but Fawkes? Made me SO mad. And now this. You can convert 10 Nuka-Colas into one Quantum. Neat! Unfortunately, you can't do it if they're COLD. And even if you drop all 400 of your "Ice-Cold" Nuka-Colas on the floor of your house and roast them with the flamethrower for five minutes straight, they're still "ice-cold"... and they will remain "ice-cold" until the end of time when the sun explodes in an unimaginable supernova of superheated annihilation... and even THAT probably won't warm them up to room temperature!!!

Well, anyway, sorry for ranting... my reason for posting was actually to suggest a workaround for PC users, although it should be fairly obvious to anyone who uses the console commands at all. Open the console with "~", and then input the following two commands:

player.removeitem 40DCB ##
player.additem 1519E ##

.... replacing the ## with the number of Ice-Cold Nuka-Colas you have in your inventory. This will remove all the ice-cold ones and replace them with normal, "room-temp" Nuka-Colas, which should then be instantly affected by the Quantum Chemist perk. (Confirmation needed, as I don't have the perk yet myself.) I realize you can just use the console to add Quantums directly, but this is a good option for people who don't want to feel as if they're "cheating." (Argue if you must, but I'm sorry -- but putting a bottle of cola in your pocket and letting it reach room temperature is not cheating.) As for the people playing on the Xbox, what can I say? Let's hope Bethesda realizes what a blunder this is and releases some kind of fix. Actually, it would be realistic to script ALL ice-cold colas to return to normal after a few hours. They could do that in a game patch (without having to patch the actual Broken Steel DLC directly), and it would neatly solve the problem. Here's hoping! 10:12, 22 May 2009 (UTC)

i cant see why people are complaining about this. is it that a big of deal? quantoms arent THAT important. i think we all need to calm down a little. its just a perk. btw you can still buy normal nuka-coals at some vendors.

(In response to the unsigned post above:) Yup, waiting for 720 hours next to a vendor to buy 10 Nuka-Colas sounds like a good time to me. Maybe we shouldn't complain about Nerves of Steel, either, even though it doesn't do anything at all.... hey, Action Points come back sooner or later, right? And you don't really need them to play the game anyway, so I don't see what the big deal is.... right? 08:01, 6 June 2009 (UTC) (Edit: removed my follow-up rant, because you're right - it really isn't worth getting worked up over. Still, I thought the comparison to Nerves of Steel was appropriate and kinda funny, so I left it...)

yeah nervs of steel is usless in every way and it is appropriate. but i think u misunderstood me. i didnt say not to compilan at all, i just said people are going absoultely nuts. its a perk (one of the few good new ones).--That70sdude 19:56, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
In that case, I agree completely. Glad we can be friends. (Hands That70sdude a Nuka-Cola... ice cold, of course!) 11:14, 12 June 2009 (UTC)

Please NoteEdit

Please note that on Article Pages, you should not use first person or anything along the lines of "This user found", or "The author was nice enough..." It's very sloppy and unprofessional. Also, don't post your signature on an article. Spence 20:04, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

It was intended to show that the information I was adding was, in my opinion, not unlikely to be specific to my game, or even that one character and no others. I couldn't think of another way to put it that wasn't fairly wordy. But, I apologize. Auridan 23:24, 16 July 2009 (UTC)

    • Several mods exist that allow the player to convert Ice Cold Nuka-Colas into Quantums.

ice cold nuka cola's dont work, big woop Edit

i know its a bad glitch that these ice cold nuka cola's dont work but really theyre are worse ones out there, like the gauss rifle when it crits it sometimes does no dmg at all, or general chase's overcoat, tht bethesda somehow gave an ENTIRELY wrong code, makeing it some useless combat armor from operation anchorage....Toolazytomakeaaccount 18:10, October 19, 2009 (UTC)
