Pointless Article?[]
I really don't see the purpose of this article. You can't interact with posters in any way and unless it is proposed to create articles for every static and movable static item in the game, it really shouldn't exist. –Rpeh•T•C•E• 09:14, 11 April 2009 (UTC)
- I don't see how the fact that they can't be used by the player is relevant. Sure, they might not be exactly high-priority articles, but there's no point in deleting them either. Some of them might be quite interesting lore-wise, but I don't see the point in deleting even the ones that aren't. Ausir 09:43, 11 April 2009 (UTC)
- I agree with Ausir here. Just because you don't personally find the information relevant does not mean that it is not of use to someone else. Some people are interested in more than just game play. I for one am interested in how games are made and why certain choices are made. The most prominent "choices" that everyone sees in any game is the setting. Describing that setting in detail is a useful exercise when studying those aspects of a game. So, if this article is not useful to you, by all means move on to one of the nearly 6000 other articles here. I'm positive a few of those will interest you more. — Game widow 09:48, 11 April 2009 (UTC)
FO3 Poster Additions[]
Hey guys, as you may know I have just detailed several more FO3 posters in my last two edits, but not all of them, there are still more to be done. I have screenshots of all of the ones I have listed, but I may not add them as the written details are sufficient in describing them. That poster is not the only one here that is based on real-world a real world poster design. For instance File:CivilDefensePoster.png must be based on this Workers' and Peasants' Red Army recruiting poster from 1920 http://eng.plakaty.ru/posters?id=9 That's just one I recognized without having to look, so I might be able to find more sources of inspiration if I took some time.

As far as the Civil Defense poster goes...[]
I apologize in advance for this not going under the category entitled "YO!" but I am clueless as to how to do such a thing. Concerning the Civil Defense poster, "Where will you be..." I believe it was inspired by a real Civil Defense poster from the 50s with the text reading "Serving You...in time of emergency" and features a man with nearly-identical clothing to the Fallout 3 one, the only noticeable difference is the sweater vest is brown in the real poster and green in the game one. Additionally, both are carrying brown-colored shovels of a similar make, both are pointing at something; although the Vault-Tec one does resemble the Red Army recruitment poster while the real life one seems to be pointing at some indeterminable object off in the distance. Also, both feature similar design; the word "you" is in bold red font, the Civil Defense logo (in both Fallout 3 and real life incarnations, respectively) at the bottom is in red font, and behind the pointing man is the scene of disaster: a flood in the real poster, a mushroom cloud in the game one. I would gladly post a link to the real poster, but again my inexperience with such matters leaves me to humbly request that those seeking verification search for civil defense posters online.
