Control v Experimental[]

Based on the title of her holotapes, it seems that she was a "control" subject rather than an "experimental" one, which may indicate that she was never meant to take the actual serum and was likely instead given a placebo serum. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 2602:306:3970:B7B0:11A5:A19E:1EF9:B1D3 (talkcontribs) 07:14, February 9, 2018 (UTC). That's a very good point. It's horrible, too. -146.90.47.236 18:10, June 13, 2018 (UTC)

Evidence peters was not ghoulified.[]

I feel that the phrasing of this article is misleading and speculative, and does not provide a reasonable explanation that peters is infact the putrid glowing one in the house.

To start, Unlike Mr. Keller from fallout 3, the ghoul that spawns in the atic is not a unique NPC, and does not come with a unique name, either visible ingame or for it's GECK ID. It can spawn as a Bloated glowing one or a Putrid glowing one.

R.A. Peters' first two recordings are labeled as being made on February 27 and March 1, while the third recording is unlabeled. The 6 Sievert dose of radiation that Peters Received is great enough to kill within 2 weeks. The notes on the third holotape specifically describe these as being her last words as she faded out.

The exterior of the house has Halloween decorations, the skeletons of a couple embraced on the porch, and a boarded up window, showing the house was occupied through October of 2077 and the great war. The interior of the house has a master bedroom and an untouched child's room with posters and toys. This implies that the house belonged to the parents of R.A. Peter's, not her. to back this up, the attic has none of the equipment that Peters used in the experiment, no IV bags, Geiger counters, or even a bed. Only cardboard boxes sprouting glowing fungus.

The story shows that Dr. Roberts gave Mr. and Mrs. Peters the holotapes containing their daughters last words, and kept them in their home after she died. After the war, the house became infested with several feral ghouls, 2 of which can be found alive in the 1st and 2nd floor of the house. The ghoul in the attic is unrelated to the story of the Peters family, and just serves as the boss to the end of a small dungeon.

If anyone has any objections to my edits, please discuss them here. {{SUBST:User:Legofan/Signature}} 17:58, November 7, 2018 (UTC)

In my opinion, the theory of the death of Peters immediately after recording No. 3 is even more speculative than the assumption of turning it into a feral ghoul. And to make any assumptions based on the often ill-conceived interior design of Fallout 4 is a very thankless task.
Doesn't have a unique name? Well, actually it’s rather strange when the protagonist finds out the name of the NPC when he first sees it. So here it is rather possible manifestation of common sense (or just laziness). In any case, if the NPC does not have a name in the game, then he also does not need it in the GECK / Creation Kit. Added level ghoul and the end of the case. By the way, named NPCs do not always have a recognizable designation in the game editor.
Skeletons near the house? The developers sketched them wherever they hit. Even in homes where NPCs live. Who do they interfere with? Or maybe just the interior and exterior were created by different designers?
Dates could simply be confused (as in West Everett Estates and Little Lamplight) or taken at random.
Halloween decorations outside the house? Accepted. But what about the absence of a toilet bowl and any fixtures, lamps, chandeliers, etc. inside the house, except for glowing fungus? Did Peters, or her parents, relieved on the street, or at home in the sink, illuminating himself pocket lanterns? --SpaceLight1 (talk) 13:33, May 31, 2020 (UTC)

implied to have become a ghoul[]

it sounds like she begins growling in her last tape which is locked in the attic with the glowing one so we should keep the page as is until information that proves otherwise is released. but that's just my thoughts on the matter 96.4.180.37 13:31, October 21, 2019 (UTC)

If you listen to the audio of the third tape you'll find that she does not begin growling. The audio direction notes for the third tape of the Control subject's recordings include the notes "realizing you are doomed to die of radiation poisoning - this medicine doesn't work" and ends with "mentally and physically fading - final words." on top of the evidence I previously included on the talk section immedietly above yours this is enough to discredit the idea she became a ghoul.
Lastly, you can't just assert something as a fact on the wiki when all you have is an implication. you need to be able to show solid evidence supporting any claim, and where there's no evidence, the claim needs to be removed. {{SUBST:User:Legofan94/Signature}} 02:02, October 23, 2019 (UTC)
If I understand correctly, these notes are left for voice actors so that they can withstand the correct intonation. They are not visible in the game. It is only audible that Peters feels very very bad and thinks that he will die soon.
I think, if there is no desire to build unproven theories, it is better to write that the fate of Peters is not known for certain.
P.S. Speaking of theories… Eddie Winter, in a letter to his girlfriend, talks about radioactive material and "doctor in East Boston". Maybe we are talking about Dr. Roberts, and assistant Peters, without knowing it, acted as a guinea pig in them? Okay, this is just a conspiracy assumption.)
P.P.S. Sorry for my English. --SpaceLight1 (talk) 13:33, May 31, 2020 (UTC)
