Page name, etc.[]
I made this page to mirror the Legionary assassin page, to give a reference for both faction choices.
Although not named in-game, the Rangers that appear have different stats and equipment to their standard appearance , which seemed note-worthy, and are obviously a special encounter.
The page name is a placeholder at the moment, with problems.
- The page name is for a group, but the infobox is for a character.
- "NCR Ranger assassin" or "NCR Hitman" didn't seem right, as they appear more like marshals/regulators.
- They can be male or female.

The ranger hit squad warns me and then doesn't spawn again. This is happening on multiple playthroughs on the ps3. Apparently no one else is having this problem? Solcrum 03:44, December 11, 2011 (UTC)
I'm having the same issue, and I'm on the PC. My hypothesis is that if they show up to talk to you after you get Crocker's invitation but before you fail Don't Tread On The Bear and the NCR becomes hostile, some trigger fails to activate and they don't come back. 71.208.101.14 02:51, January 2, 2012 (UTC)
Update Info[]
From what I've seen, the info on the page is either outdated or incorrect. Can someone double-check the info that is currently on this page/I added? I'm positive on what I've put, but I haven't seen any plasma items, or stimpaks in amounts of 4 units or 7 units. This tells me someone just put what they think they saw on Rangers or they're just outdated. User:BravoAlphaSix
Bugged, confirmed on Xbox and PC - the initial hit squad will appear and deliver a warning, then if killed, no more Ranger hit squads will spawn and attack the player. Ever. Even if vilified by the NCR and marked as a terrorist after failing Don't Tread On The Bear!88.110.3.127 18:42, July 29, 2012 (UTC)

I hadn't changed my NCR reputation but had begun some NCR quests and had the hit squad show up and give me 2 more days warning

Ranger Leader AI package[]
Is there any way to check what's in there? I ask because it always seems like she's the only one that seems to always know where the Courier is at. If she's taken out from far away the others just hang around the area or constantly alert to her body. Also wondering if the Legion hit squad has an equivalent. - I just had the same interaction with a Legion hit squad near Red Rock. The one with the Decanus helmet is the leader. The others lose interest in hunting you once he's been dealt with. 69.137.253.195 01:33, December 22, 2014 (UTC)
Confirmation of hit squad bug with a reputation of idolized with the NCR[]
Should I worry? A Ranger hit squad gave me a three day ultimatum at the head of the road to Nipton even though my reputation with the NCR is Idolized. At first I thought it was the NCR Ranger armor I was wearing so I reloaded to the last autosave, changed to Mark 2 combat armor and headed to the same place. There they were again and the leader still came up and gave the 3 day ultimatum.
My whole play through has been focused on supporting them. Prior to this I did go on a killing spree at the NCR Correctional Facilty, wiping out all the Powder Gangers but there were no messages about NCR infamy while doing so and my reputation, as stated, is still "Idolized".
I'm on a PS3 playing a first release copy with all DLC. Regularly patched console.
Disappeared from game[]
OK so before I kill Benny, I had both NCR and Legion at Merciful Thug. Hitsquads appear at the early levels, but they were replaced my Assassins as soon as my Legion rep hits Merciful Thug - kinda sketchy but OK...
Everything was fine and dandy up until I killed Benny, got the notices from both factions and have Accepted rep with both. No problem - I thought - just going to get reputation back down to Merciful Thug. So I killed a couple of troopers and legionaries, got back to Merciful Thug - that's when neither hitsquads nor assassins are spawning anymore.
I tried putting on disguise and get Vilified. I tried killing Caesar and got Vilified. But still nothing spawn them back anymore. I'm figuring if I get NCR Rep into the positive, maybe at least the Assassins will spawn back? Anyone has a solution? (xbox, btw) K4Anarky (talk) 22:09, January 3, 2015 (UTC)
Spawn locations[]
Does anbody know where they spawn? I know that the Legionary assassins frequently spawn on the road next to HELIOS One, so have the NCR Ranger hit squads got any spawn points like this? 62.240.166.130 12:31, August 8, 2015 (UTC)
