The only thing is that the take me to your leader would be taken out because, well, because the Earth is now a rad infested war zone between mutants, humans, and other things......... The one thing i would love to see is if there were something like this. A dlc that featured the global travel system. lets say, what if, you meet this guy in your homes bar ( tenpenny or megaton) and he told you that the world never did get hit by nukes, Europe is rebuilding, Africa is shity as always, Asia is what it was, China is rebuilding, All the world was unaffected besides the U.S ,and you could ask for assistance from other countries, and they could set up embassies around the game world, a embassy in the pit, one in rivet city. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.41.199.3 (talkcontribs). Hold on wait... seriously... that last comment^^^^ Is that a joke? are you even being serious or what? what are you talking about? what does that have to do with the upcoming Mothership Zeta DLC? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.130.194.203 (talkcontribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~!

The whole world was hit by nukes. Ausir 21:28, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

If it was a war between the US and China, wouldn't they be the only contries effected by the bombs? maybe the rest of the earth from some major fallout, but mutations should be the only thing to effect the other contries besides the black rain that went on for a week, so the surrounding countries, but the whole WORLD? I think that's a little far fetched. ~Random Bystanderd, 21 May 2009

I did say it was an idea. A original one at best. (The funny hat) 20 May 2009 (UTC)

I just hate the fact that the in-game world is that it was nuked into oblivion, not a single man or woman in the game has mentioned the outside world besides a few NPC's, why not make a DLC incorporating that, there would be no need to change the original setting, all you had to do was give a character, a pre-war world, and embassies to compensate for companions. Embassies that have troops that do visual recons around DC. How badass would that be? —Preceding unsigned comment added by The funny hat (talkcontribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~!

I'm sad to say, not very. It's been 200 years since the war. If it were to happen, it would have happened by now. I know you're trying to be creative, but think it through first. Fat Man Spoon 22:00, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

Does it matter?????? The world could have lost contact with the U.S. Its not like they are going to invade us, and for what, free mutant steak? And the idea of it being hundreds of years old and already happening, don't make me mention your name in this!!! A FAT MAN THAT LAUNCHES SPOONS!!!!!! *covers mouth* (The funny hat) 20 May 09

HOLY CRAP! (explodes in puff of smoke) Fat Man Spoon 22:16, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

Look, if you really know anything about Fallout then you know that the whole world has been blown away, including Europe and Africa. What would be the point of Fallout if the rest of the world was perfectly fine? The whole game is about the nuclear aftermath. Hello!? its called "Fallout: A Post Nuclear Role Playing Game". The idea of going to other countries that are perfectly fine might sound cool, but it wouldn't fit in Fallout! Sure I can see them fitting in other countries in Fallout sometime. I think maybe in one of the next Fallout games you might see another continent, but I still doubt it considering the 50's style American theme that's essential to the Fallout series. Either way the concept would be the same. whether its D.C., Paris, or Madigascar, it's gonna be blown away. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.130.194.203 (talkcontribs). As it is likely with any nuclear war, as soon as SOMEONE launched their nukes, no doubt everyone launched them in fear. Still, it would be great if you finally found out who launched the nukes and it turned out to be someone completely un-expected such as Luxemburg

Actually we know that China initially sent the bombs, and we then fired back, which caused China's allies to attack us, and our allies attacked them, and pretty soon everyone had been bombed by someone.

But it would be nice to know about some other countries, eg. maybe Tenpenny had more dialogue options about England or how the heck he travelled all the way from there, just some interesting info, I guess.90.198.53.129 08:45, 5 June 2009 (UTC)

You are right, this is a COMPLETELY unrelated topic. This isn't the place for the whole "how realistic is it that the whole world was destroyed / is still in the same state 200 years later" debate - that has been done to death on various Fallout sites and there are plenty of better places to do it than the Mothership Zeta DLC talk page.

Even without being hit directly the fallout from the bombs would have ruined most water and food supplies so my guess is that even if the other countrys had not beeen hit theyd be really fucked

Pshycic!

I think the whole concept is bad. The aliens were never a big part of the Fallout lore. AngryNorwegianDude 18:02, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

Agreed. The Alien is never alive - and it should stay this way. This is Fallout, not Star Wars. I'd rather want a DLC featuring mutated Llamas than Aliens. 77.25.157.188 19:29, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

As you say, the alien is never alive... maybe thay are all dead and the ship is run by a mad supercomputer? Fat Man Spoon 21:12, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

I think this sounds like a cool idea. Aliens were never really explored in an of the fallout games, the only thing that had to do with aliens was the Alien Blaster, and this DLC also gives us the chance to get some over powered alien weapons and some extra alien blasters. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Shadowrunner56 (talkcontribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~!

Yeah i think it'll be good 'cos then bethesda can explain why theres so much alien activity, theres the crashed ship, and the encounter were that ship explodes.

Also, in Broken Steel I found numerous Alien Power Cells and even another Alien Blaster. Sheldon.

Mothership Zeta has the potential to be a shark-jumper, but if you think about it, it's kind of a tribute to Wasteland. There was a whole fake plot in the materials that accompanied the game where you end up on Mars, which is where the Red Ryder BB Gun and Firelance fit in.

and let's face it, little green men are definitely part of the 50's. My Favorite Martian? Santa Defeats The Martians?

the main thing they will have to do is keep some mystery behind the aliens, and give some sort of plausible explanation why they don't normally vacuum up people from the Wasteland but have decided to vacuum up you, and why they don't just take over what's left of the irradiated planet.--24.231.157.130 22:16, 11 June

2009 (UTC)

Maybe they do? Perhaps they have little interest in the resources of an irradiated planet? They could just be hanging around for the scientific research.

WELL THATS why their making a DLC that has something to do with aliens. So aliens CAN be part of the fallout lore. DOY! --Kirby888 19:59, 12 June 2009 (UTC) Oh and that llama thing, THAT was cold man, COLD

would be pretty cool to see what they do with it though, we're used to the fairly local life of super mutants the brotherhood, enclave and all that, would be good to introduce something else to it, not just for the sake of, here you go another enemy to waste in the wastes, but it would seem a little dead end just to have the crash site and firelances falling from the sky with no explanation. at first it seem just like an excuse to throw in more alien weapons so you dont run out on ammo so easily. either way i look forward to it. we cant easily predict what aliens would want with a war ravaged planet other than to take it over, but what would the benefit be, what would be cool.... an alien npc. 20th june 2009 - matt

Holy COW!

I just hope the whole Mothership Zeta story will turn out to be some sort of charade. You know, like if it turns out the ship and the aliens are in fact specially breeded creatures... Or the Zeta is in fact an Amusement Park, but the player is made to believe it is true UFO...

Well, if it is still aliens after all.... Beth, make them GOOD! 92.126.100.29 18:22, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

Actually, if that was the case it would be kinda enjoyable. Let's just hope that it actually is the case. --KillerIsMe 20:39, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

Well they could just make it Enclave work in oppose to aliens, that might drag it closer to Fallout style Spectre N7 19:36, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

In this DLC you walk into Vault 101 where James has dressed everyone in poorly stitched alien suits and you have to pretend you're on an alien space ship for three hours and watch his silly little drama he wrote to go along with it before you can leave. --96.243.180.70 23:05, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

Ah, come on guys, this isn't the way to encourage Bethesda's work, sure, they may give you the thought of (cruel) speculation, but it doesn't mean they will screw up, remember, they have already an alien model to use in this DLC, they have a ship ( crashed, but with a bit of pre-war abraxo, it will look better) model to use, a.k.a, a ship to use in your escape. This DLC might make the cut. I won't riot until I see this thing in and out. ( The funny hat)

Um, why are so many people acting outraged at the idea of aliens being included in a Fallout game? There was an alien ship in the FIRST Fallout game... AND in multiple subsequent games. Aliens are 100% "canonical" in the series... no ifs, ands, or buts. Aliens are ALSO an integral part of cheesy 40s - 50s style American science fiction, on which the Fallout universe is quite squarely based. So what exactly is the problem? I agree that aliens shouldn't be the "major focus" of a Fallout game, and they're NOT. This is the fifth of five expansion packs for one individual Fallout game. That's it. They're NOT getting their own game, just a single, optional expansion pack that will probably amount to five hours of gameplay at most. Honestly, there is NOTHING wrong with this concept. All it requires is thoughtful execution: we most definitely need the right kind of aliens. This is not going to be Prey or Alien vs. Predator or any of that recent stuff. These guys have big, wobbly green heads inside giant glass fish-bowl helmets - PERFECT for the genre. If you want to play a video game where the aliens are all faked by scientific experiments and government conspiracies, honestly, go play Deus Ex and Deus Ex: Invisible War, because that idea has been done already. These are genuine, cheesy, early-sci-fi little green men who say, "Take me to your leader, earth man!" and zap people with death rays and all that good stuff. And I don't know about you guys, but I think it's going to be AWESOME. Or perhaps I should say "KEEN!"  :) 12.204.48.130 06:52, 22 May 2009 (UTC)

I agree, you've got the right point of view.

I think the reason some people are skeptical about this is because prior to this new DLC material, the aliens were little more than a rare special encounter/easter egg (Wanamingo not included, since we've got no clue WHAT they are). Bethesda is taking something incredibly minor from Fallout and Fallout 2 and tossing it into the spotlight. It would be no different than an entire 4 hour DLC mission dedicated to unearthing the mystery to the Crashed Whale or rescuing a group of time traveling, space survivors from the Federation Crash Site. It's all speculation at this point, but we'll see in time what Bethesda's plans are. Mr. Sully 07:14, 22 May 2009 (UTC)
I see where you're coming from, Sully. It's a good point. Still, if Bethesda doesn't explain the presence of the rare alien encounters / artifacts that have always existed in the Fallout universe, then who will? Personally, I've always wondered if that particular area would be explored - and yes, I've been playing the series from the beginning. And I still say that making it the focus of 1 out of 5 expansions - for 1 out of 5 games - is not too much exposure. You could cipher that up as being a grand total of 3 or 4% of Fallout lore (depending on how you were willing to calculate it). I can say that for me, personally, if you added up the number of hours I've spent playing Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout Tactics, and Fallout 3 (I never played BOS), then the number of hours I'll spend zapping aliens would amount to MUCH less than 1% of my own Fallout experience. (Come to think of it, I'm glad I DON'T know how many hours I've spent...) Of course, having said all that in its defense, it's still entirely possible that it could suck in a most spectacular way! The ball is in Bethesda's court - we'll just have to wait and see what kind of experience they've cooked up for us. I hope it's good. I think we can at least agree on that much! Cheers, and thanks for responding! Oh, and P.S. the crashed whale has already been explained in the Hitchhiker's Guide series. Interestingly, the pot of flowers next to it is named "Agrajag." Come to that, I think the whale may have been Agrajag, too. (In which case, he was quite beside himself!) It's worth reading the books to get the whole story. (It's a whale of a tale...)12.204.48.130 11:08, 23 May 2009 (UTC)

I agree with 12.204.48.130, i think it will be awesome and i don't know why everyone is bitching about it being crap and saying it is not part of fallout lore when aliens are a HUGE part of fallout lore. it really suits the whole 40's/50's theme. Silent.Killa78 >:) 02:23, 23 May 2009 (UTC)

Difficulty

I hope when they make this DLC they realize how powerful everyone's characters are already and that they make the combat in this DLC truly challenging. Broken Steel gave us some tougher enemies but it also gave us plenty of extra firepower to handle them pretty easily. I hope this DLC will be the most challenging by far. Intelligent life from another planet should have enough technology to pose quite a challenge. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.20.22.140 (talkcontribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~!

Not sure what you're all about, put it on Very Hard and go fight some Super Mutants without any followers, unless I'm missing some super secret weapon that kills in one hit no matter what I'd say Very Hard can prove to be a bit of a challenge, or at least annoying because of the enemies massive health or whatever increases/decreases to make the enemies such a bitch to kill on Very Hard. --DavidDavidson

  • The death claw gauntlet with all the perks that go with it makes killing a super mutant easy. There are also several weapons from broken steel that will make it a pretty easy kill. The tesla cannon is one. There is also nuka grenades which you can get plenty of now. Also, point blank sneak attacks with the terrible shotgun is a good time too. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.78.143.30 (talkcontribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~!

Facing more than one enemy at a time with alien blasters (or perhaps worse!) should be pretty challenging unless they find a way to "nerf" it. I just hope that it finally gives us a way to get an unlimited amount of alien power cells.97.124.56.150 05:10, 20 May 2009 (UTC)Cavesloth

They probably have some new powerful weapons. 1950s style alien guns, lol. One that incinerates you! //--TehK 11:28, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

Oh, crap, I just had a thought. What if they raise the level cap AGAIN, in order to accomodate more powerful weaponry and enemies? Wanderer Lao 20:43, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

No complaints here, it would only give me another reason to play more. Has Bethesda said WHY exactly the level cap wasn't higher than 20 to begin with? Oblivion obviously had a very high level cap (99 or something I think) so I wonder why it wasn't already higher. Oh silly me, of course, raise it in DLC to maximize profits. --DavidDavidson

The level cap of Fallout 3 was limited to 20 not to maximize profits of DLC, but basically to make each player's character unique. A big part of the game is making decisions and reaching a unique outcome. Every quest has multiple rewards and outcomes with lots of things to get, but you can never have everything. The Perks and levels of the game work the same way. You cannot max out all of you skills, you can't eventually get every perk. Its about choice. You have to choose what's best for your character, and inevitably your character will be unique and unlike anyone else's character. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.130.194.203 (talkcontribs). OMG!A higher cap!I just peed my pants!Maybe it'll go to fifty!Mwhahaha! 68.32.99.81 17:24, 21 May 2009 (UTC)

They have stated they are not raising the level cap. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.20.22.140 (talkcontribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~!

There is one thing that worries me about difficulty. if they are really hard, what if some poor noob gets abducted by the alien space ship as soon as he exits vault 101 and then can't beat the aliens and it ruins the game for them? because u can complete it before main quest but what if it randomly abducts u as soon as u exit vault 101? Silent.Killa78 >:) 02:25, 23 May 2009 (UTC)

One would hope the difficulty of the enemies would depend on the level of the hero
like other creatures of the wastes. (eg, you only come across super mutant masters
after reaching a certain level, so you dont get totally wasted).

If they increase the level cap, they'll need to increase the skill caps or something similiar. Without Broken Steel, you could still get up to 100 in every skills. They'll need to increase that and make some good perks for once!!!!

  • Please read what is already written before you post. The new DLCs will not change the level cap.
  • I'm talking when they next do a level cap (if it appears)
  • I would like to point out that the entire essay that follows was written by me, Jon.

All you people raving about a level cap raise need to step back and think a second. How would this work? A DLC that raised the level cap to 35 or 40 would render 'Broken Steel' pretty much useless, as most people get it for the increased level cap. People have paid for that, and Bethesda wouldn't just void it by bringing out another DLC with a higher level cap.

So what? Just make it 40 for people with Broken Steel, 30 for people who don't have it? I'm no programmer, but as I understand this would be exceedingly difficult as (on consoles, at least) the Broken Steel data is on the HDD, while the actual game data is on the disc, so this hypothetical new DLC; "ZOMGNEWLVLCAP" would need to find some sort of evidence that the player has downloaded the DLC, and if they have, simply install a seperate script raising the cap to 40, but if they haven't, the DLC would need to rewrite the data on the disc, which would mean creating two copies of one DLC.

This won't happen until Broken Steel has made Bethesda plenty of money, and raising the cap becomes worthwhile, and the upcoming PS3 release means development of "ZOMGNEWLVLCAP" wont start until 2010, at the earliest.

Quite Simply, It ain't happenin' (Jon)

New Follower

I'm thinking this DLC might include an additional follower you can get that is an alien. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.78.143.30 (talkcontribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~!

Maybe, just maybe, there will be an alien follower, but who knows? His name may be Steve, he may be 4ft3in and have no hair except a large ginger moustache, it's open for speculation. Personally I would like to see a humanoid follower with resilience close to that of Fawkes, so we can equip them with T-51b and be happy. One with a nice high energy weapons skill so we can give them the Alien Blaster. 86.2.252.181 21:25, 10 June 2009 (UTC)Jon

If their will be a follower i bet it will be a human that was abducted from earth during the real 1950's and was in stasis or something the whole time.

Wanamingos

Anyone else get the feeling Wanamingos will be featured in this DLC although they are not really aliens? There's FO3 concept art for them after all... -- Porter21 (talk) 21:07, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

I felt that they would make an appearence in New Vegas, but his seems much more likely... Intelligent ones perhaps? Fat Man Spoon 21:09, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
I'd be happy to see some Wanamingos as long as they aren't slapping me all over the map. Maybe we'll get not one but two races of aliens in the new expansion... and a new, viable source of alien power cells. Mr. Sully 21:17, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
The thing with Wanamingos is they were created by the military as a weapon. Still, we don't know what they were "created" from in the first place. So its entirely possible they are in fact aliens and we'll see them in the DLC.
Werent they created from FEV?
They weren't created "from" FEV. They were created using FEV as a catalyst for mutation. In other words, we have no idea where the original DNA that went into Wanamingos came from. The original Wanamingo could have been a dog, cat, watermelon, space alien, or even a combination of all four.

Kewl

I think it's awesome. But since this is an interactive game you'll probably have to talk to the aliens. Like you're in a test tube and the aliens put on a translator so you can understand them. Or maybe they just don't speak at all. I hope you'll be able to loot their bodies and wear their armor. I hope there won't be something gay like followers won't be able to come on board AND will be sent back to their original spots. Because in Broken Steel I finished the Aqua Cura quest and I can't enter the Museum of History without my Xbox crashing. *sob* I don't want to loose Fawkes...WAH! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Alieneater1239 (talkcontribs). Let's talk WEAPONS!

Since this is a discussion page and all, I thought I'd get the ball rolling on some wild speculation. You guys seem pretty creative, so what do you think? What kind of new alien weapons can we expect to see? The only two alien weapons in the Fallout universe so far are the Alien Blaster and the Firelance... personally, I have a hunch that the Cryolator will make an appearance, as it was mysteriously cut from the final version of the game. A "freeze ray" would fit in perfectly, wouldn't it? And of course, we have to have some kind of long-arm version of the Blaster, because what 50s-style alien encounter could possibly be complete without a Death Ray? Another idea which pops to mind would be some kind of mind-control device (more effective than the Mesmetron but perhaps similar). Perhaps the player could get him/herself "mezzed" by the aliens - whoops! But since it's typical for Bethesda to give us a few new guns with each expansion, what else do you think we might be able to look forward to? Oh, and one more thing before I open the floor to discussion: there shall be absolutely no mention of a melee weapon called a Probe, you hear me?? :P 12.204.48.130 07:10, 22 May 2009 (UTC)

YAYZ PROBEZ I hope you shove them in, they ignite, then after 10 seconds BOOM :D.

Probably going to be 3 new alien weapons, one "nerfed" alien blaster, a different alien rifle with it's pistol counter-part (Though the rifle is probably going to be better like always). Then it's probably just going to be a unique version of a vanilla Small Gun and Melee Weapon(Due to the content of the earlier DLC's I don't think we should expect more than this, it's probably going to be less than that even..). But what I hope they bring in in the two new DLC's are the H&K G11, M72 Gauss Rifle and H&K CAWS from fallout 2(Every place in The Wasteland look like shit, even the weapons, we need some high-tec). A new minigun which uses an upgraded model like the Tri-Beam did with Laser Rifle, Plasma Fist or Upgraded Power Fist(How do unarmed PC's kill reavers!?!?!), Fireaxe for melee(Everybody in the wasteland use random melee stuff and noone decided to use and axe? Is fallout an axeless universe?) and cluster grenade, impact mine or molotov cocktail for explosives. Oh and Naccy Man with a "Special Disk M60" (No really, it would be an awesome easter egg like thing). Sorry for not signing, 81.234.140.17 23:35, 22 May 2009 (UTC)

My guess would have to be that they include an alien machine gun and some of the crap from Destroy All Humans! since that was reminiscent to '50s styled aliens. Plus, that ass-probe thing probably will happen at some point.Dunno.But I'm gonna HAVE to get Broken Steel first because my best characters (Jack, who is good,Hawk, who is evil, and Wolfer, who is neutral) are all in the purifier room! How about SHOOP DA WHOOP LAZARZ PipBoy101 17:17, 22 May 2009 (UTC)

Alien melee weapons. Like some kind of electro-pike or something like that. And an Alien Assault Rifle would be a pretty nice addition. Or an Alien Sniper Rifle. I'd also welcome the return of the M72 Gauss Rifle and the Vindicator Minigun. //--Run4urLife! 19:52, 22 May 2009 (UTC)

Wild assumption that the creator dragged the barrel out a little to it's length and that the blue ammo like clip in front of the handle is an alien power cell remodeled in rectangular shape then given more width and attached to the modified model, am I right or totally off? 81.234.140.17 23:47, 22 May 2009 (UTC)
Ha, yes. Now I feel like an idiot for not seeing that. Fat Man Spoon 00:13, 23 May 2009 (UTC)
Nope I was way off see the alien power cell page. But I think that it's just a rectangular model with a play on previous textures though, the 6 stripes seems like the one's on the rear of the gun. 81.234.140.17 01:44, 23 May 2009 (UTC)
Actually, you can't see it in the screenie, but it still reloads the same way on the left with the circular cell. The new clip is something else.. //--TehK 01:48, 23 May 2009 (UTC)

I wonder what this DLC's Power Armor will be like, though. There has to be one, seeing that each of the previous DLCs had at least one new model; just think what Point Lookout could have, too. Here, it could be alien-built armor that was designed for human anatomy using scans of the Lone Wanderer, all as an experiment beyond human understanding (otherwise it would be stupid to make something that doesn't work for you but works for your enemy). It could also be armor that was scavenged before or shortly after the War, like a predecessor to the T-45d but with alien modifications so it's worth using, or an advanced prototype (T-52a, perhaps?) recovered from some secret military lab after the nukes fell. 74.215.114.200 00:26, 23 May 2009 (UTC)

a paralyzing stick, can't get it out of my head 62.163.88.139 11:19, 23 May 2009 (UTC)

Yeah I was also thinking of a weapon that paralyzes the enemy. Its a central theme in alien abduction stories. And some sort of crazy death ray too of course. Its also possible we may see some more stuff like Lincoln's repeater if the aliens had been studying humanity for a while...

I got to be honest i dont think bethesda gonna sent out m72 gauss rifle since theres already a gauss rifle in operation anchorage they should sent out more gauss weapons though and about mothership zeta what the hell does brahmin got to do with this dlc?

You don't know what brahmin have to do with alien encounters? I take it you've never heard of cattle mutilation. oh thanks i only want alien technology never knew cows got something to do with aliens lol!

HAS ANYONE EVEN CONSIDERED THIS???!!! Where would all the ammo come from, and if it's that rare, who would use such a weapon that depletes 500 rounds in seconds?--Master1337cheeZ 02:19, 4 June 2009 (UTC)

Dude. TIN FOIL HATS. Nuff said. ~ The Unsigned One, 6 June 2009

A weapon called the Defibrillator. It would be some type of energy weapon that sends an overpowered shock to the heart. A few seconds later the enemies heart explodes.

Heart exploding, that's up there in terms of sheer brutality, but I still say nothing can hold a candle to the brutality of the Cerebral Bore from the Turok series. It's a heat seaking brain scooping nightmare of a weapon. 67.211.81.140 05:52, 7 June 2009 (UTC)Cavesloth

Here's an idea... An alien grenade. It's more powerful than the nuka grenade. Vault 77 Dweller 22:02, 8 June 2009 (UTC)

Hey, there's a good idea! Makes me think of a "singularity grenade" generating a micro black hole or something. (What was that horrible movie with Charlie Sheen? The Arrival? I think they had a black hole type grenade in that...) That could be really cool with the physics in Fallout 3. Just make sure you grab that skill book off the table before you chuck that singularity grenade, or you'll NEVER find it, lol.... 12.204.48.130 07:38, 9 June 2009 (UTC)

you would think that they would add a new grenade in a dlc, right? I mean there are only 4 existing. COME ON! Vault 77 Dweller 21:02, 10 June 2009 (UTC)

Operation: Anchorage was supposed to have Smoke Grenades in it, but got cut. There also seems to be a cut Mirelurk Bait Grenade that wasn't used. Fat Man Spoon 21:04, 10 June 2009 (UTC)

Though they aren't necessarily "alien weapons", I'd like to see the pulse pistol / rifle from fallout 2 make an appearance.

I'd like to see another singlehanded, fully auto weapon (akin to the smg), say, like a 5mm PDW, which does less base damage than the smg, but ignores DR. I dunno. 70.179.110.237 18:38, 19 June 2009 (UTC)

DLC availability

Did it say that u could only buy it if u have the fallout 3 game of the year edition

All Downloadable Content (emphasis on downloadable) will be made available as downloads first. The GOTY edition will ship about a month after the last DLC is released, and it will include all five of the DLC's on discs. You can either pay for each DLC pack as it is released, or wait for GOTY and get them all practically free of charge and on disc. 74.215.114.200 22:13, 25 May 2009 (UTC)
It's a load of bull in my opinion, that I'll end up shelling out about $100 total for this game, and all of a sudden someone else gets the DLC I spent my money on for free. Microsoft should give us some refunds, man. Wanderer Lao 10:24, 26 May 2009 (UTC)
Why should they? You bought the DLC, even though you knew full well that a GotY edition will appear. If you can't think before you buy, you should reconsider being a part of a capitalist society. That Furry Bastard 11:09, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

I'm glad they have a GOTY edition, that way I can get it for my PC without spending another 100 bucks.Cavesloth 13:40, 26 May 2009 (UTC)Cavesloth

Everyone knows there is a premium to the price of video games if you buy it when it first comes out. What would suck though is if I hate GFWL so I buy the game and then I buy operation anchorage + the pitt on disc and then I buy broken steel + point lookout on disc and then I'm left with no option to get mothership zeta through retail except for the GOTY edition which means other than mothership zeta I will have purchased everything else twice just because of stupid GFWL.

Question....

  • 1. Why would they take us?
  • 2. Does it just suck you in right when you download it?
  • 3. Can you get an alien follower?
  • 4. Will there be a whole lot of bramin in there?
  • 5. Do they speak English?
  • 6. Will there be any alien weapons which you can have?

AND THE ONE AND ONLY BEST QUESTION..... HOW MANY FINGERS DO THEY HAVE? --Kirby888 03:36, 20 June 2009 (UTC)

Cleaned up your post a little, 1. There might be more to the story than what we know about the Theta Recon Craft. 2. We don't know. 3. Hopefully, we don't know though. 4. It would fit into the cattle mutilation myth's but we don't know. 5. Maybe they have a voice-changer/bender. 6. Probably otherwise it would be stupid to go onto an alien spaceship. 7. As many as the dead alien at Recon Craft Theta which I believe is three. 81.234.140.17 05:21, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

DUH! 1. cause we stole their blasteres...and draged a dead alien all the way to rivet city 2. it's probably gonna be like " An alien ship has appeared!" Then you'll get a radio signal. 3.probably not 4. maby the signal will be a random waster saying. " Someone is stealing my bramin, please help!" 5. yea,and german, japaneese, russain, spanish, protugeese, and every other language. 6.Duh 7. 3,exatly,3 - Joe Han Son

Well 1.Maybe because they thought your the responsible for the aliens death and crash 2.I dont know maybe another distress signal 3.Hell yeah but 80% no we dont even know yet if theyre bad or good 4.I dont know 5.Yes maybe all languages or maybe they speak in alien and they put some alien technology on you so that you can understand what they say. 6.Well duh they wont go to a planet that they dont own unarmed.. and probs they will have 3 fingers since the alien in the crash site have three

Answers:

  • 1. Scientific study, they need information, they need our help, or they are just hungry and need food.
  • 2. It probably sucks you up after 1-3 days after either you download it or after the random encounter with the alien ship crashing, whichever is later.
  • 3. I really hope so.
  • 4. Yes.
  • 5. No they will communicate with you telepathically but the brahmin in there will speak English.
  • 6. The alien blaster and the firelance. Also you can fire the ship weapons but only as part of a quest.
  • 7. Three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out!
LOL you just reminded me of the semi-obtainable Holy Hand Grenade you could get in Fallout 2. That thing OWNED, but you could only get one. Of course, I used FALCHE2 to give myself a few hundred more. Wheee, good times! Now that I come to think of it, that's one thing that's woefully lacking in Fallout 3.... Monty Python references. At least give us an encounter with some crazy guy in black power armor who bellows, "NONE SHALL PASS!" Er... okay... I guess I went off-topic there, sorry... 12.204.48.130 06:29, 30 May 2009 (UTC)

The Chinese General in Operation Anchorage spoke to you in Chinese but you received the dialog in English and when you spoke back to him, he understood somehow. So maybe the aliens speak to you and you somehow understand and they somehow understand english. Vault 77 Dweller 13:53, 7 June 2009 (UTC)

vault 77 dweller, I just the Vault has a very good foreign languages program, I mean how would you be able to read stealth manuals if you don't speak mandarin?? Jose Payne

Yeah, that was cool. Makes sense. But does this mean we'll have to deal with communist aliens? Nitpicker of the Wastes 14:11, 7 June 2009 (UTC)
Communism works much better in space, no pesky humans moaning: "But I don't wanna give up my cattle to the government. Waaa!" or "I annoyed at the public exercutions" Fat Man Spoon 14:25, 7 June 2009 (UTC)
Have you ever seen that black-and-white Soviet propoganda movie where the commies make peace with the Martians by introducing the glorious Leadership of the People? Good times, good times. Just substitute in China, and we've got plenty of reason to get an MEC Gauss Minigun! Nitpicker of the Wastes 14:33, 7 June 2009 (UTC)
No I haven't. Do you know what it's called? Is it like the Smash Martians? Fat Man Spoon 14:39, 7 June 2009 (UTC)
Okay, I have no idea what Smash Martians is. That, and the title is probably in Cryllic lettering. You could probably find it on Youtube. It's ten or fifteen minutes long. Just enter "Soviet Martian Propoganda". In theory. Nitpicker of the Wastes 14:46, 7 June 2009 (UTC)

[[Video:Smash Mash Potatoes Advert|thumb|340px|right|Here they are! Fat Man Spoon 14:51, 7 June 2009 (UTC)]] Whoa. Those had better be good mashed potatos. Well, I couldn't find it, probably because I was spelling "propaganda" wrong. I think it's called "Red Planet Mars", and is in English for you veiwing convienyence-ski comrade. Take a trip to your local old movie store. You'll know it's the right one if the Soviets win. Damn, I need to stop eating InstaMash until the aliens are gone. Nitpicker of the Wastes 15:05, 7 June 2009 (UTC)

Oh well, can't find it. I think I get the idea though. Fat Man Spoon 15:09, 7 June 2009 (UTC)

So would it be likely that they would add a potato as alien food in mothership zeta? It could give you charisma +3. It always does when i eat one. Vault 77 Dweller 22:08, 8 June 2009 (UTC)

Yep. Or an unusual abundunce of Instamash. Fat Man Spoon 22:15, 8 June 2009 (UTC)

Alien Gear anyone?

Aside from Alien Weapons (I'd like to see some crazy Rifle), I have a suspicion that they're going to use Alien Tech and as a method of repairing your gear. Limited, unique weapons and armor that can't be repaired have always bothered players, so there may be some reconstructor machine here. And really, Alien Armor would be amazing.--Clean Up 15:08, 31 May 2009 (UTC)

Depends on how the armor looks like, I'd rather have a 100% repair man in Point Lookout instead. I'd like to have a alien power cell maker like the ammo press in the pitt. say, 100EC for 1 APC, 50 MFC for 1 APC. Meaning if i have 2000 MFC I can transform it to 40 APC which frankly isn't alot but seeing as how powerfull Alien Blaster is it would be worth it. I'm 81.234.140.17, Adjust. 16:32, 31 May 2009 (UTC)

It would be cool to add like an alien power suit or another alien weapon. or both. PACMAN Waka Waka 16:46, 31 May 2009 (UTC)

There probably isn't going to be any over-powered stuff. And if there is, it'll likely have extremely limited ammunition (I'm hoping it's not the latter). --Clean Up 17:02, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
Those aliens look like pretty skinny dudes. Not sure my character could fit into any alien clothing. Also I'd have to cut a couple extra finger holes in the gloves.

Maybe (and I believe it may have been said before) there will be an Alien Power Armour of some kind? Something really unique, not just a reskin, and totally kick ass (ala Ashur's Power Armour), but not completely worthless (a la Gary 23) or stat decreased (Tribal Power Armour DR). Oh, idea, Enhanced Tesla Armour, or Modified T-51b! Perhaps even a Radiation Suit that can seriously protect against radiation, or an aluminum helmet to protect you from their mind-reading powers! Oh, I could do this all day! Ergo, I will do something else. Wanderer Lao 05:04, 2 June 2009 (UTC)

I want plated boxing gloves as an easter egg from F2. I'm 81.234.140.17, Adjust. 18:36, 3 June 2009 (UTC)

yeah, they could also be an Easter egg from Mars attacks! where they box near the end. also i think we should get some automatic firing tesla gun! and a long stick melee weapon called the probtromitor, when you hit people with it, if you crit they experience severe rectal trauma, and then die! ftw! --92.234.175.62 05:53, 4 June 2009 (UTC)

Heres an idea,an energy weapon ammo press, also, you could have an alien repairman as a companion who repairs your stuff to 100% FREE Werewolfhell 16:32, 5 June 2009 (UTC)

They should make the power armor look like those smash aliens, and it dispenses instamash instead of med-x like the medic armor--92.234.175.62 20:44, 10 June 2009 (UTC)

There are a few definites ( in referance to what will appear) in this DLC Alien Armor: An absoulute necessity if the Aliens have not for some unexplainable reason down graded their tech, this armor will be required to withstand being hit by the alien blaster more than once because idk if anybody ever had the firelance picked up by a hostile NPC but its lethal in 2-3 shots on higher difficulties. Alien Weapons: All the DLCs have introduced new weapons why should this one be any different, mabye an alien assult rifle or an electro pike? APC: If new weapons are introduced these will be necessary. Hazards/Traps: Because honestly who would play something with no conflict, and seeing as the ACS was radioactive a way to deal with radiation while on zeta will be neccesary. And last but not least Enemys: This will be a major sticking point of the DLC, they have to be tough but not ungodly so, will they be searchable, what weapons will they have, humanoid, will they wear armor?

I think that as far as weapons go e can expect the alien blaster and firelance to be at the lo end of the spectrum, because the Ship at the ACS was called RECON craft theta, and usually recon units are lightly armed and made for speed so im intrested to see hat the alien big guns will be like

This section is for Answering questions, only discuss the answers.

Q: Where will the DLC start?

Q: How will you be abducted? Will you be stolen right from where you are or will you need to return to the ACS to get beamed up? (Star Trek ref) S-984 23:06, 4 June 2009 (UTC)

Level Caps

Does anyone think they'll change? Maybe 35? I hope they do since there were much better perk options available (like weapon degradation) but im not keeping my hopes up.90.198.53.129 08:36, 5 June 2009 (UTC)

  • This we do know. The level cap will be 30 with broken steel and 20 otherwise. They say this in an interview. The new DLC will not change it so please stop posting about the level cap people.
Well I would like a Dlc which can only be downloaded if you have the Broken Steel file, which give's you Several boxes in the OPTIONS bar that has like 30 level cap, 40 level cap, 50 level cap up to 100, so that we who want no cap at all can keep power-leveling, and it's optionable to have no level cap or 100 yknow or to still have it at 30, so all of those "30 is too much" people don't "have" to raise it like broken steel forced them to. Oh and we who keep leveling won't get any new perks, we can just make us ace of spades once we have all perks. Maybe a perk at 100 that give's unlimited AP points. And here is the thing "noone can whine about it..." those who want this DLC who have broken steel, can download it. Those who don't, won't. That easy, it brings no new weapons, enemies, places, stuff... Only for us 360 and ps3 players to be able to powerlevel. I'm 81.234.140.17, Adjust. 22:54, 6 June 2009 (UTC)

thats a weird statement, pc gamers already can get rid of the level cap 62.163.88.139 14:23, 9 June 2009 (UTC)

For people with extended patience and/or the ability to read proper English, There's an essay further up (by me :P) explaining WHY Bethesda will not raise the level cap. --86.2.252.181 21:30, 10 June 2009 (UTC) Jon

WOW WHAT A ADVENTURE 5 MORE LEVELS. Not really. I doubt there will be a level cap but if there was it go to 40. --Kirby888 03:39, 20 June 2009 (UTC)

Alien Food?

Most places have some type of food.. and aliens must have to eat too so I wonder if there will be some type of food(s) in this expansion. What do you guys think? (Maybe super stimpacks?)

I want spacefood in tubes, I want an astronaut suit, I want to skin out one of the aliens, taxidermy yknow, and dress up in his skin like that crazy guy did at the end of Bad Taste(splatter-film), I would like to see some alien food but bethesda will probably not put priority on something like that. You also forgot to sign your post. I'm 81.234.140.17, Adjust. 15:55, 8 June 2009 (UTC)

I wonder if I can eat these aliens? Fat Man Spoon 22:04, 8 June 2009 (UTC)

The Cannibal perk won't work on these though seeing as it isn't cannibalism eating an alien lifeform. 81.234.140.17 23:30, 8 June 2009 (UTC)
Ok, then some 'Alien Flesh'? Fat Man Spoon 23:31, 8 June 2009 (UTC)
"Extremely Strange Meat"? 12.204.48.130 07:28, 9 June 2009 (UTC)

Or "alien Food" like dried fruit and stuff in a nifty foil? or what about "alien ice cream sandwich" or you can scoop out the aliens brains and eat them, they temporarily increase intelligence, but can be addictive?--92.234.175.62 20:17, 10 June 2009 (UTC)

Addictive Alien Brains? Perfect. Fat Man Spoon 20:25, 10 June 2009 (UTC)

or "peanut butter duck embryos tuna fish salad sandwich" Aliens eat weird combos. Vault 77 Dweller 20:34, 10 June 2009 (UTC)

Yup. Actually, I'm going to use that somewhere. Fat Man Spoon 20:38, 10 June 2009 (UTC)

POSSABILITY!

WHO KNOW'S! maybe the aliens are trying to kill you and there is one alien "who help's you" get off the space craft/kill the alien's............Remember (POSABILITY!)

Yeah and it can become a companion later because its awesome like that!

Easter eggs

I hope there will be quite a few easter eggs Don't you guys?

Probably a bunch of references to old movies which a 19-year old like me don't know shit about xD. I so hope there is a flash gordon reference somewhere though.
