Revision as of 14:36, 9 July 2010

Well it can't be better than lincons right? Cuz that would render it useless. I'm 81.234.140.17, Adjust. 20:27, 3 June 2009 (UTC)

Likely going to be common and much weaker, who knows,it might use much more common ammo like 32.caliber BlackEdge 20:28, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, probably, and it can be used to repair the repeater. Who knows, maybe they'll change it so only repeaters can repair lincolns.--Captain192 00:55, 4 June 2009 (UTC)

More Thoughtz

If Bethesda follows other DLCs, Then they may have a new unique version of this, Possibly having more damage and/or a special property compared to Lincoln's Repeater.

Maybe it'll be held by the leader of the hillfolk(If there is one) and outclass Lincoln's Repeater making it the best rifle in the game BlackEdge 10:07, 4 June 2009 (UTC)

Maybe they'll alter the Lincoln Repeater so you'll need repeating rifles and not hunting rifles to repair it. Making Ol'Painless the only unique hunting rifle, and the Lincoln repeater becomes the unique repeating rifle.

Ol' Painless is already the only unique hunting rifle, LR is especially unique in that it (currently) has no generic variant. --MadCat221 15:18, 12 June 2009 (UTC)

What if the picture is the Lone Wanderer, in the civil war outfit, carrying the Lincoln repeater?

no,see the plating? it's gray, not the shiny gold of lincon's repeater--JoeHanSon 22:33, 12 June 2009 (UTC)

Likely...

It is most likely a Winchester Repeating Rifle used mostly in the taming of the west, but saw limited service in the Civil War, Crimean War, (In Turkish hands) and others.

10mm?

Who said that the lever rifle used 10mm ammunition? That seems kind of absurd...71.90.161.0 22:51, 20 June 2009 (UTC)

It does seem a little strange, considering ammo size and all that. However, If it really does take that ammo, I finally have a use for all 4000+ 10mm bullets! Wanderer Lao 00:32, 21 June 2009 (UTC)

What about the damage, its not that much less then Lincoln's Repeater and given the common ammo type makes it a fairly good weapon. I suppose it probably has a worst critical mod and holds less ammo but still. I'm also guessing it deals 40dmg and the one who put down 42 has bloody mess.--LordVukodlak 00:46, 21 June 2009 (UTC)

Finally! You see...i had acquuired +10000 10mm rounds in my time exploring and exploring the sydney glitch.....and with that backwater rifle....im gonna go on a rampage...who knows...maybe orcidea will swap? Butter 16:08, 21 June 2009 (UTC)

It's been changed to .44 Magnums now. Please tell me it IS 10mm, I spent all of this time looting, buying and pressing to get the couple thousand I have now :( LJ Carrion 12:43, 22 June 2009 (UTC)

Don't worry it is 10mm rounds, i've been using it in game for about 2hours now and it's not that bad tbh shame it's capacity is only 10 rounds at any one time though. Just so you know the damage with maxed small guns is 40 and not 42, the page is wrong. 81.132.199.54 16:37, 23 June 2009 (UTC)

Thank good god...first off.....now that ive got it...it appears to be common...and second...,.that backwater rifle is fuckin' great.......but i havent fully repaired it...so is the damgae for it ACTUALLY 52?Even if it isnt....i cna convert the 44 magnum rounds i have into 10mm rounds...thing is...i have exactly 2000 44.magnum rounds....how many 10mm's would i get for using them in the ammo press Butter 16:53, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
about 30000. Fat Man Spoon 21:15, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
I already got that .....but still....i just gave lincolns repeater to jericho along with my hellfire armor....both arent all that great(Well hellfire armor is but looks shit)...for now...its backwater rifle and Tribal power armor with ledouxs hocket mask. Butter 14:47, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
Lincoln's Repeater still wins. You can't repair the Backwater or a Lever-Action with a hunting rifle. Have to go ALL the way back to Point Lookout. Nitpicker of the Wastes 14:51, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
Uh............so?It's easier just to stock up..im busy collecting spares(Although it takes a LONG time) currently i have 33 lever action's in my megaton house in case....but still.....lincolns repeater=ammo is hard to come by...lever action=Ammo is literally given out in huge amounts Butter 14:54, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
You're gonna carry spare Lever-Actions? When Hunting Rifles are carried by every super mutant from here to Munroeville? Also, I was right, the lever-actions have spread. Lincoln's doesn't. Nitpicker of the Wastes 14:58, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

This certainly makes some of my mods redundant, including the fireaxe mod I got last week. --75.163.141.182 02:17, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

Fixed Flaws

There is a solution which fixes the only major flaw that the Lincoln's Repeater has against the Backwater rifle. Take all the ammo you don't use, buy all ammo from all vendors that you won't use, and other scrappy metal items, you can press them in the ammo press for thousands of .44 magnum ammo. I did this and it is awesome. Then, this can be exploited along side the fact that the Lincoln's Repeater is repaired by the ever-so-abundant hunting rifle and you have the best gun. It is powerful, the most accurate, and easiest repair weapon out there. With this ammo solution, it can be the best weapon over all. Though, the backwater rifle is stronger, and there is more abundant ammo, it still requires a weapon that is hard to find to repair it. It is more of an overall hassle. Lincoln's wins. Plus it looks cooler. Critical Hits are a factor, but it is not a big deal with the right perks, so I don't worry about that.

Here are the stats compared:

[[Lincolns Repeater-cooler looking ]]

-0.0 spread (where aimed is exactly where bullet hits)

-50 Damage -.44 Magnum ammo (harder to find, but can be forged in the Pitt using other ammo)

-Repairs with the, much more abundant, Hunting Rifle

-Has a 2x Critical Hit Multiplier

[[ Backwater Rifle-Looks like any old Lever Rilfe]]

-0.25 spread (hits almost where you aim)

-42 Damage

-.10mm Ammo (Very easy to find)

-Repairs with the, rarer-then-Hunting Rifle, Lever Rifle

-5x Critical Hit Multiplier

damage

Where are you guys getting 52 from? In my Pip-Boy 3000, I'm showing 42 at 100% repair. I haven't checked the geck because I'm not familiar enough with it.--Kingclyde 16:57, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

It's called 'Screwed up perks'. Fat Man Spoon 16:59, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
I have the ghoul power perk and the defender perk. Now I'm just mowing thru things with vengeance it's silly.--Kingclyde 17:30, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
I'm shooting lurks in the back... and kicking their asses doing so! But at least this epic DLC clusterfuck makes the game easier, not unplayable. --DragonJTSLeave me a message 14:40, 27 June 2009 (UTC)
Yes, yes, it's all good for the game, but just think about how much faulty weapons data will be coming in. Nitpicker of the Wastes 14:44, 27 June 2009 (UTC)

Point Lookout: Enchanted, or just fucked up? An Indepth Report

Well, the whole damn place is enchanted so the swampfolk, swamplurk, swampflies, and swampguai all do 35 more points of damage. Buuuut, the Ghoul Ecology and Superior Defender make you do more damage to them. It seems these bonuses are applied even when you aren't fighting ghouls or standing still. Ergo, all our weapons data has been shoved down the crapper, and we now kick ass slightly harder. I think.

My little report on why the hell my Chinese Rifle does 84 damage. Nitpicker of the Wastes 17:04, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

Well guess what, combined with Bloody Mess and Superior Defender my Chinese AR does a whopping 101 damage (and Vengeance does 236)! --Echo11 15:38, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

Not useless....to some people

You know with the commoness of the ammo and the decent ammo...this can be very useful to people who dont wanan go find lincolns repeater.especially since some people dotn know of its existence/dotn have enoughs caps to buy ammo/Dont have scrounger perk in order to get enough ammpo for lincolns Butter 15:17, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

Butter, you *do* know that most lever-actions are plucked out of the dead hands of Maccy clones, where the Repeater is only gaurded by Ferals? Nitpicker of the Wastes 15:19, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
Have you ever heard of reavers? Most people who dont have much access to good fallout sites will probably have access to broken steel.....and that means reavers...is it really worth wasting every weapon you have for a weapon that might not be worth it after you trudge over to it's case after breaking your most prized weapon? No,i didnt think so. Butter 15:23, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
Did you know that Reavers won't show until level 18? (Under normal circumstances) Swampfolk are everywere. And, you don't have to lose a bit of your brain to get at the Repeater. Nitpicker of the Wastes 15:26, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
Fighting reavers cost's sanity when theres 10 of them spamming radioactive gore at you.My little brothers went into a semi-coma after his level 30 character was picked apart despite multiple spam rounds from vengeance Butter 15:27, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
That coma was caused when your brother hit himself in the face from the recoil of a weapon that shoots light. Nitpicker of the Wastes 15:30, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

Lincoln repeater still unique

Why did people remove the unique status of lincolns repeater its still unique considering lever action rifle and backwater rifle are silver plated and lincolns repeater has gold plated and has a lincoln icon on it plus its the only one who got a different icon which all weapons have a vault boy icon.

can this repair lincoln's repeater?

Is the answer no? I haven't personally tried it.--Kingclyde 19:15, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

The answer is no. Fat Man Spoon 19:16, 29 June 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for the verification--Kingclyde 19:21, 29 June 2009 (UTC)
Betheda should get off their lazy arses and change it so only lever-action rifles can repair lincolns repeater. Burgerman 17:00, 5 July 2009 (UTC)

No, thats a bad idea because some people don't have point lookout and the lever action rifle is alot less common then the hunting rifle used to repair Lincoln's repeater. (Maverick21 17:49, 16 July 2009 (UTC))

Yea, and Lincoln's Repeater uses .44 magnum rounds and this uses 10mm rounds, makes just about as much sense as normal Hunting Rifles being used to repair it.Crimmastermind 06:20, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
But hunting rifles use .32 ammo so... what does it matter if the lever rifle uses 10mm?

Nitpicker IS RIGHT BUTTERCUP

Lincolns Repeater is WAY BETTER THAN the backtater rifle or lever action rifles EASIER TO REPAIR and MUCH MORE POWERFUL

Lincolns Repeater Damage:50(100 Small Guns) Spread:0.0 Repair: Hunting rifles Ammo:44. round magnum

Lever-action-rifle Damage:40(100 Small Guns) Spread:0.25 Repair:Lever-action-rifles Ammo:10mm rounds

Backwater Rifle Damage:45(100 Small Guns) Spread:0.25 Repair:Lever-action-rifles Ammo:10mm rounds

We all know Lincolns Repeater is WAY BETTER than Lever-action-rifles and the Backwater rifle......

Thank You for your support(To anyone who supports my opinion)

Damn straight I'm right. :) Nitty 20:36, September 30, 2009 (UTC)

Actually I still prefer my Bsckwater Rifle, purely for the plentiful-ness of ammo. I have thousands of that stuff, but only a hundred or two of magnum rounds. It's slightly more of bitch to repair, but I picked up a ton of Lever-Action Rifles when I was doing Point Lookout and stashed them in my house so it's no big deal. So really, it comes down to personal preference :). Dhakkel 20:46, September 30, 2009 (UTC)

I have about 3500 magnum rounds....so you are TOTALLY RIGHT Nitpicker......And Dhakkel you are very (stubborn)amusing seeing as how you still prefer that rifle.....With The Pitt 44magnum rounds is like 5.56mm rounds and you are very amusing but Lincolns Repeater is VERY EFFECTIVE AND POWERFUL.Even if I dont have the pitt i still got 3500 magnum rounds with a little hard work...

How am I stubborn, man? If anything, you're being incredibly stubborn and childish for not accepting this, like nearly anything in a video game, comes down to personal preference! I haven't even been to the Pitt on this save, but even after being there I will still have 10x more 10mm ammo than I will ever have Magnum ammo. Backwater Rifle is only marginally less powerful than the Repeater, and when you kill Enclave in 1/2 hits with either, does that really matter? Geez, are you a power game, or what? Marginally better stats are really not important to real people, and I greatly prefer how the Backwater Rifle feels. I love its reload animation! Dhakkel 10:04, October 1, 2009 (UTC)

Again Thank You For your Support(For Anyone Who supported my opinion)

Ok to avoid conflict....But the reload animation of the Repeater is THE same as the Lever-action-rifle....Because it is one only RESKINNED and DIFFERENT stats and AMMO.....So let me know your PERKS and SKILLS.........Thank You.

Thank You for your support(To anyone who supports my opinion)

You're so weird, guy. Just fyi. I'm not going to post my character, as what I'm trying to convey is this: the stats are really not that important since there is not a great deal between them - the choice really just comes down to whichever oneyou like more. And I like the one you don't. Deal with it :D. Dhakkel 16:13, October 2, 2009 (UTC)

Oh yeah if im weird....YOU are WEIRDER and stop replying im getting bored of your comments...

i say both guns are epic, as stated in my own variation of this article i believe that lincoln's is better mostly because it was my first unique weapon ever, i mean its like your first car in rl or something, even if its eventually outclassed beyond reason it will always be your first car,"old faithful"Toolazytomakeaaccount 05:45, October 19, 2009 (UTC)

comparison

theres a million and a half people saying wich ones better, i figured id throw my own into the mix, Lincolns repeater is pretty epic if you get it at like lvl...5, no reavers, you can get charon in the same building and all u gotta do is pwn some noob ghoul, then hell help u pwn the ghouls.i have the pitt, operation anchorage, and later today will have MZ and point lookout. i used a glitch in operation anchorage to get 5m 5.56mm ammo, then went into pit and made a TON of 44.cal ammo, tht makes the lincoln's repeater have no draw-backs, as for blackwater rifle, it is very effective, uses 10mm ammo so its easy to get tht, but the guns needed to repair it are so uncommon, im not gonna lose my 5 followers(used glitch) going back to get some crappy lever action rifle, id just use lucky harith or crow. so theyre both epic but if you have operation anchorage+the pitt, uve got a pretty epic source of any ammo u could want(i also got a infinite use minigun from operation anchorage and made about 1m ammo for tht) there is no god gun there is no infinite use gun that blows the crud out of a reaver in one shot(excluding pc user's mysterious strangers gun or any modded guns they made)so use what u wanna use! big guns char's use big guns, small guns char's use small guns, energy weapons peeps use energy weapons, and so on and so on. its how it works.its like comparing opinions on how our(my)country should run things, people do what they want to do.Toolazytomakeaaccount 19:51, October 17, 2009 (UTC)

So which one do you like BETTER?

well for me i like lincoln's repeater, but thats just cause it was the first unique weapon i ever got, before any dlc it was like, my favorite one ever, i of coarse have weapons i use more...but well its always been the first one i ever get.Toolazytomakeaaccount 20:35, October 18, 2009 (UTC)

V.A.T.S bell

whats wierd is every time i kill someone in V.A.T.S using the backwater rifle, i hear a bell. i've never heard the Fat Man bell so i don't know if it's the same, but still...

P.S. this has only happened while using the backwater rifle. it's never happened with a regular lever action.
