He blinded me with Science Edit

If you are siding with Mr. House and have a Science skill of 100, you can avoid fighting General Oliver by telling him you could share the dam's energy.

Yes Man, throw General Oliver off the dam. Edit

After talking Oliver into leaving the Mojave, he says he'd see you hang if he had his way. This option gives an awesome cut scene.

Is his name a reference? Edit

Could he be named after Generals Robert E Lee and Oliver Cromwell?

I think he is a reference to Robert E. Lee, but not Oliver Cromwell, because they do not relate what so ever.LibertyPrime 03:19, May 17, 2011 (UTC)

It shows the proper reference as noted by one of the developers in the behind the scenes section.--Kingclyde 03:28, May 17, 2011 (UTC)

Mispronunciation Edit

Fun fact: He mispronounces "plumed" (says it like "plummed"). 08:16, August 19, 2011 (UTC)

Perhaps it's meant to be "plumbed" then? Rather than referring to their headdresses (plumed), he's using plumbed in his quote "Give those plumbed fucks the what-for!" to mean "thorough/complete/absolute," which is colloquial.--SushiSquid 08:30, August 19, 2011 (UTC)
That...makes absolutely no sense. "Plumb" means (by a very old colloquialism) "straight or absolute, as if verified by a plumb bob". "Plumbed", as in actually measured with the plumb bob, retains the engineering meaning and erases the colloquialism. People (particularly country-fried types such as Oliver is supposed to be) say "plumb tired" or "plumb idiot" instead of "absolutely tired" or "absolute idiot", not "plumbed tired" or "plumbed idiot". "Plumbed fucks" makes even less sense unless the Legionaries have sewer and water piping up their asses.
Face it, it's a voice error that Obsidian didn't catch, probably because they did all of the minor characters in as few sessions and with as few takes as humanly possible to save money. You do realize the voice acting budget for FO3 was something like 70% of their total expenses, right, and at least half of that was JUST Neeson and Perlman? Not sure what it was for FONV, but if somebody blows 70% of their monthly food budget on Dom Perignon and lobster on the 1st of the month, don't be shocked when you see him eating peanut butter on Wonderbread for the next 29 days. my opinion on the NCR and their leadersEdit

Colonel Moore has a serious way of doing things i.e blowing up the brotherhood. While the Gen. is not evil, he is the reason the NCR hasn't gotten further in there main mission: to get the Mojave annexed. Also, I think I'd like workin' with hsu more than moore, who has the right idea but is backed only by the General's current position. Also, those crybabies who are the Mojave resident are ungrateful for what the NCR is trying to do for them. They are single-handling fighting there greatest enemy for the greater good of there citizens as well as to look good in the eyes of the people of New Vegas.--For NCR 19:08, March 5, 2012 (UTC)

"he owes his command due to him kissing Kimball's ass" is simply bad grammar. It's equivalent to "he owes his command because of him kissing Kimball's ass". It lacks proper context and could be more clear with proper grammatical structure. Tried to correct the sentence but the change was reverted.
