I think it would still be cold at higher elevations in the "damaged" atmosphere. Wouldn't acid rain just become acid snow at <32°F? And then acid runoff in the spring? Don't eat the fish. I would think there would still be seasons, albeit noticably hotter season; unless the nuclear weapons knocked the planet of it's rotational axis, or otherwise threw off it's orbit. Yeah snow, it's white. -[[User:Maddogg408|Stoned]]

So liek, can someone upload an actual ingame screenshot? Photos of tvs and monitors annoy me. --Teh leecherer 04:23, October 26, 2010 (UTC)

Why snow?

Why is there snow in the Mojave Desert? I know deserts are defined by the amount of rainfall they get, so the could have snow, but after a nuclear holocaust destroys the atmosphere? No, no, no. Aleksandr the Great is the only one who's got the same idea as me. More heat, and the mojave desert is also far more close the equator than DC. So, shoulden't all the snow be melted?

It'll still snow up in the mountains. Nitty Tok. 16:06, August 10, 2010 (UTC)
If a nuclear holocaust destroyed the atmosphere we would have more immediate things to worry about than "why is there snow?" like a problem such "gack, gurgle, cant breaaas.s.s.. balrg" ralok 20:00, August 10, 2010 (UTC)
Well the nukes would definately affect the atmosphere somewhat and probably cause the temp to rise more than normal. Since the nukes would more than likely not be aimed at the north and south poles, there would be less damage to the atmosphere in those areas and not cause world wide flooding (wheres global warming now al gore? lol). But even if las vegas wasnt hit, the nukes came pretty close and would still cause a good amount of atmospheric damage (not so much that everyone would burn to death but if you look at the capital wasteland it is alot mor desert-like and arid). Wouldnt alot of the snow melt because of that? Also on top of that wasnt there like a large amount of acid rain after the nukes hit? Aleksandr the Great 00:05, August 11, 2010 (UTC)
In case you didn't realize this, the atmosphere is made out of air. Any "damage" would not last long, and wouldn't be confined to a specific area. Kris mailbox 00:31, August 11, 2010 (UTC)

I thought because of the "black rain" that happened after the great war the whole planet's climate was a perpetual "summer". I do not think snow would last in those temperatures unless this town in WAY high in elevation. Perhaps the snow is artificial?--HelpMeRhonda213 19:38, October 11, 2010 (UTC)

nuke holocost

guys the next danger to a nuclear holocost is a nuclear winter once there is a nuclear war the nukes cause dust to enter the atmosphere blocking out the sun for a while 45 years min usualy combned with the the fact that the high mountains are usualy cover in snow and that surrounding mountains would provide shade from the sun that leaves about 1 hour 30 minutes of sun damage a day in estimate but the damage would be stronger than the usual heat and no blissards would ever happen because of the fact the climate is just recovering and please consider the fact that its 203 years after the holocost the climate would definitely have started recovering

There was no nuclear winter in the Fallout universe as per lore. Kris mailbox 13:23, August 17, 2010 (UTC)

Kris is correct, but the original commenter is also correct in suggesting people to consider the fact that this is centuries after the world ended.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.....

It says Lily's a farmer. And Jacobstown is in the mountains. Last time I checked you couldn't farm in the mountains. So I don't believe her name goes on known occupants.Shadow 21:27, September 15, 2010 (UTC)

Her official description from the PS3 blog says she's from Jacobstown. Ausir(talk) 21:30, September 15, 2010 (UTC)

Oops, guess I shoulda looked at the fine print within the fine print.Shadow 21:32, September 15, 2010 (UTC)

Can't farm in the mountains? Lad, I think you know naught of agriculture :) besides, she's a shepherd (assuming that bighorners count as a type of sheep) or at the very least, a livestock herder. That's a type of farming, though it doesn't preclude more stereotypical meanings of "farming". --Kris User Hola 22:21, September 15, 2010 (UTC)

Someone add more facts please. Plenty of info from MArcus and other inhabitants

Mercenary quest impact on the Jocabstown's ending?

Would killing / coming to a peaceful agreement with the mercs affect the game ending?

Stupid cazadors........ [UPDATE]

I MIGHT have found a fix for the Cazador bug. I'm not sure, however. I'm currently testing to see if this method i came up with will work.

Basically if Fallout new Vegas is anything like Fallout 3,then the monsters should spawn exactly where the corpse of the LAST monster you previously killed was located. So in essence by dragging the Cazador corpse over and out of the town, you can thus prevent the town from being attacked by that goddamn menace. Again,I'm not sure if this will work since it's still in testing, but hey,at least I'm trying right? Yes,the Cazador corpses CAN be picked up,HOWEVER the Bull Bighorners can NOT be picked up,so you're shit out of luck if one of them shows up,but no worries;the Bull Bighorner's a piece of shit newb monster. It can hardly cause much damage as opposed to the Cazador.

So I'm currently attempted to drag the corpse out of town to see if my method prevents this bugs damage. ALSO,please don't forget that there's yet ANOTHER piece of shit Cazador waiting for you just right outside of town. So yes, you're not going to be dealing with one,but TWO piece of shit Cazadors.

The first Cazador is located EXACTLY right next to Lily and can be stopped with a little luck and a crappy gun. I did it with a Maria all the way from the spawning point, which is REALLY far away. a sniper shot practically. So if i could do it in Vats with a Maria, then their is no reason you guys can't pull it off with any other gun. Just make sure you're in sneak,so you can get the sneak attack critical;that's very important.

The second Cazador is located EXACTLY right outside the gate to the right(assuming you're inside the town, which you should be). The very second you step outside the gate the 2nd Cazador will spawn to start his violent, rampant, bullshit attack. So for this Cazador you want to bring him down FAST because the other super mutants will get in front of you within less then 2 seconds. So it's EXTREMELY recommended that you use Vats mode for this and just empty your entire clip into that son of a bitch before the mutants block your line of sight, because of they do then your bullet is going to hit them and that's when all hell breaks lose. You don't want Jacobstown to hate your guts.

So to recap: First Cazador should go down INSTANTLY with a sneak vats shot or two,no problem, right when you spawn in town.

The second one is RIGHT outside the gate and should be killed as quickly as possible before the mutants block your line of sight.

Once both of those bitches are dead, drag their corpses out of town. Drag them out of town till you can't see the town no more just to be safe. I took them all the way near where the mantis enemies spawn, which is pretty far from town. I'd say a good 40 second walk(real time),away from the town.

So yeah,i hope this helps someone because these little fuckers were getting on my last nerve. I HATE Cazadors. Not just because of their damage. The damage i don't mind. It's that goddamn poison of theirs that pisses me off. I prefer fighting deathclaws to these pieces of shit. At least deathclaws fight fair. Well.....more fair then Cazadors anyway.

[UPDATE] YOU'RE IN LUCK EVERYONE!! IT WORKS!!! This is a PERMANENT fix to the disastrous Cazador glitch! It REALLY works. I'm 100% positive,no assumptions! I went out of my way to exit the town and track down the Cazadors, who's corpses i had dragged across the pavement far away from town, much further down the road. LO AND BEHOLD! IT WORKED! Those two bastard Cazadors were busy fighting the other monsters that spawn in that area. So if an admin could update the page,it would be really helpful to know their is a fix for this annoying bug. The method i mentioned above works. I'm sure it can be condensed to just dragging the Cazador corpses away from town.

WOOHOO!! No more fucking Cazadors to piss me the fuck off in Jacobstown! Yeah!!! Lionheart777 06:58, January 1, 2011 (UTC)
