Victor's house

I've been rooming with Victor the robot for about 3 weeks of game time. Nothing in his house is marked as off limits and he never enters his own home. None of my stuff has disappeared and I can come and go as I please, so it seems like a good place to call home. I've taken to calling my mechanical roommate Vic after my old buddy from fo2. - some dude

the Guide says his house is a Player owned house or something....just not mentioned in the game--Silverfox6000 15:46, October 26, 2010 (UTC)

Nope. Victor's shack is unowned, not player-owned. --Kris User Hola 20:30, November 15, 2010 (UTC)

Shovel

There's actually a shovel leaning against a trough at the 2nd water purifier, so you don't need to purchase one to loot the graves. --DarkJeff 17:47, October 27, 2010 (UTC)

Star Caps

On the PC as of the latest patch, prior to meeting Sunny at the back of the saloon, neither Star caps were marked as stealing. --DarkJeff 16:45, November 1, 2010 (UTC)

On the XBox 360, these caps are never marked as stealing. --Tertiam 08:45, August 18, 2011

"Quest" items are usually never marked as stealing, no matter who owns them when they are picked up. Star bottle caps and certain other items never trigger a stealing alarm event (enemies don't go hostile) Angelsofdeath98 (talk)

Plants

I just noticed that all the plants (banana yucca, maize, etc) around Goodsprigs are marked red, but the word "steal" doesn't appear next to the name of the object, and taking them causes no loss in karma or reputation with Goodsprings, even if "stolen" right in front of Goodsprings Settlers. Someone knows the cause of this?

Goodsprings bar

For some reason, The conversation between the powder gang member and Trudy doesnt happen on my first playthrough, Anyone know a fix?

Crazy Town ?

I don't know if it happened to someone else, but the entire town draw their gun at me and threatened me but they don't shoot.Their markers are still green and they don't talk to me. I have veronica santangelo as a companion and have sided with the NCR.Veronica wants to attack them too but she don't do it. I'm on Xbox 360. Is it a unique bug or others have experienced the same thing ? *sorry if my english is not perfect

Removed Bug

  • After you've left Mitchell's house, you decide to rob the nearby houses, for instance the one with the Single Shotgun and Chinese Army Spec. Ops. Training Manual(book), you may not be able to sell these items to any of the vendors in town. The items will not appear in the trade window. (Xbox360 version) *Confirmed*

I removed the above from the Bugs section. As I understand it, this is not a bug; instead, anytime you steal an item from a community, you are unable to sell the item in that community (so you can't steal from Goodsprings, then steal your stolen item in Goodsprings). I'm assuming that this is simply the dev's way of making sure The Courier doesn't try to sell a stolen item to the person who you stole it from. Swk3000 14:56, January 11, 2011 (UTC)

random explosion?

Umm.... something wierd happened when i spawned here last time. When i came out of my spawn the entire town just exploded and killed just about everyone outside. It was huge and made my game lag for about 20 seconds. I at first thought it could have been the arcimedes laser glitch but i have not even done the mission yet on this profile. The townsfolk who were still alive were not hostile and acted as if nothing happened. Has this happened to anyone else?

DANGER!

I find it very ironic that your first game location is surrounded by danger. Deathclaws, Radscorpions, reavers, and Cazadors all not far away. I guess this is just the developer's way of keeping you with the story at first.--Bigwill817 02:54, February 9, 2011 (UTC)

Reavers? Wrong game me thinks. 74.77.129.70 20:39, February 10, 2011 (UTC)
Reavers - Exactly what I thought the first time I saw them

Powder Gangers

Powder Gangers reside in town? Can someone confirm this? I've only ever seen Joe Cobb. 74.77.129.70 21:45, February 10, 2011 (UTC)

If you decide to help Joe Cobb out and take over the town (Run Goodsprings Run) the Powder Gangers who survive move into the town. Mostly they hang around the Saloon (and Joe Cobb goes behind the bar) but sometimes they wander around town.75.67.224.12 22:46, March 3, 2011 (UTC)

Tutorial area

I'd like to see a page added to the wiki, possibly linked here and elsewhere, to explain the "tutorial area" phenomenon. E.g. that once you leave the greater Goodsprings region, your character can be reset, including all those perks and so forth. But I'm not particularly competent at web-editing, so, um, help?

I don't know if that's really worth adding to the wiki. There isn't much you can write about it and someone will probably just delete the page. You could add a note about it in the Notes section of the Goodsprings page if you really wanted to. Yes-Man 10:20, June 14, 2011 (UTC)

"Good Springs"

The clean(non radio-active) springs might be the reason the post apocalyptic settlers kept the name. 71.199.102.3 19:53, August 17, 2011 (UTC)

Good Karma?

Is There any way to get Good Karma before leaving Goodsprings?

Reference to Locksmith's Reader on this page seems inaccurate. "Goodsprings Cemetery - Just east of the water tower down the hill where a lot of radscorpions hang out."

Too vague. No other sources back up a claim of this magazine in this location. Remove it.

Mention on Wikipedia

There's a discussion on Wikipedia at Wikipedia:Talk:Goodsprings, Nevada on whether the article on Goodsprings should mention its use in the game, since it is a fairly major location in a major game series. It keeps getting added and immediately removed by the same two editors, so if anyone thinks it's worthy of a mention, add your input. Seems pretty notable to me that it's not only mentioned but several local landmarks are in the game, especially if many players don't know it's a real place.

NoSo?

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout New Vegas\Data\meshes\architecture\NoSo\nv_noso_ranchhouse03_lod.nif"

???

What is this? All the GoodSprings Ranch houses are in here. Novac is in an entirely different folder...
