Power of the Atom

Can't find Patriot's Cookbook

I'm trying to get enough explosives skill to convince Easy Pete to give me the dynamite. The guide says you can do this with the Patriot's Cookbook that you find in the mailbox outside Doc Mitchell's house. Mailboxes have a chance of giving a random magazine as loot. Try checking other mailboxes in town, perhaps? Maximillian.arthur 17:38, October 21, 2010 (UTC)

The article mentions that a Patriot's cookbook is found in a duffel bag in the gas station but when I searched the duffel bag I didn't find it.

Ringo/Aftermath

It seems to me that the optional quest objectives (with the exception of Trudy) don't really have any effect aside from provide a little extra XP and loot. The residents don't equip the armor and they don't use the dynamite. 67.149.196.9 01:01, October 31, 2010 (UTC)

Doing the quest later on

Never even saw this quest at beginning of game and just went back to goodsprings as I found out I can get a deck of caravan cards and started this quest. It was funny how he doesn't think you two have a chance (I'm level thirty with Boone (1st recon sharpshooter) and we've already gone to the fort and killed everyone there and gone to the NCR facility and massacred the powder gangers there without. Me and Boone managed that but not the fight that will happen here :P. They really stood no chance against my gauss rifle did they. --90.220.126.225 02:59, December 31, 2010 (UTC)

I gave sunny a light machine gun and T-45d and similar equipment to the rest of the town and just watched, took under 10 seconds for all the powder gangers to be mowed down.

Dialog bug

I started a new game, and for whatever reason, the option to ask Victor to join the fight isn't even available in his dialog box. It's weird; I started this new game after the 1.2 patch for the X360, could that be the problem? 68.96.225.101 04:03, February 8, 2011 (UTC)

I never got the dialogue option either. I did the quest a couple of times, both before ever leaving Goodsprings. What ever the preconditions for the dialogue are, they didn't activate. Perhaps you need to exit the tutorial and/or town first, or not have spoken to victor until the quest. 74.77.129.70 21:12, February 12, 2011 (UTC)

Patched?

Was this Quest altered by the May patch? The page claims you can avoid Powder Ganger infamy by letting the Goodpsrings folk do all the killing, which I did, but then I was stuck with Mixed Powder Ganger reputation. Nymphonomicon 19:54, June 20, 2011 (UTC)

also having victor join isn't in his dialog when i tried it. why would the patch remove that? or did i do something wrong/article lied or something?

Townfolk use same Armor as player?

I was wearing the assassin suit as I exited the gas station as the powder gangers were approaching. I noticed one of the unnamed npc was wearing assassin armour. I killed him and assassin armour was in his inventory. Could this be a possible way to get another pice of legendary armour?

unhelpful victor

think i figured it out, dialogue to ask for his help only happens if you learn of the quest from the gassstation not the saloon. need to have completed ringo's dialogue option of "and this is by choice is it?" when he says he is staying in goodsprings for a little while after you asked him what he did here....if you already saw cobb only the "i see" option exists

anybody able to confirm or disprove theory?
