We need a confirmation on the fact that a Pip-boy can be scrapped for fiber optics. --YoDsanklai (talk) 08:51, December 18, 2015 (UTC)

I think this is bogus information. There is indeed a MISC junk item variant (0001ee7c) of the Pip-boy that scraps into 2 fiber optics and one nuclear material, but that shouldn't be obtainable outside of console commands. Would need further looking into if that item is related to picking up the original one. But once picked up and equipped, there is no way to scrap the Pip-boy. --Alfwyn (talk) 20:28, January 4, 2016 (UTC)
Replaying the start, the misc item version (with a skeleton hand still attached) is indeed the one before you pick it up. But once you do it is automatically converted, no way you can scrap that. You can't leave vault 111 without picking up the Pip-boy. --Alfwyn (talk) 20:01, January 6, 2016 (UTC)
