Feral ghouls seem to be moving more dynamically then in previous fallout games. --Touchie123 (talk) 01:27, June 8, 2015 (UTC)

No kidding. I was shocked the first time I ran into a pack, was expecting the slow easy to kill ghouls from New Vegas, and instead they lunged at me *incredibly* fast and appeared to attempt to dodge as I shot at them. I think its worth making note of it on the main page that they aren't the weak easy to kill ghouls from FNV, I almost got wiped out by a pack of 4 at level 5 shooting a 10mm pistol the main page mentions the fact that they lunge and are faster but it doesnt quite express how much more dynamic they are. People expecting the "typical" feral from the other games are going to be in for a surprise. 73.254.54.45 09:14, January 31, 2016 (UTC)

New pic Edit

Can we use this picture for the article? http://i.imgur.com/DfD3K4w.jpg --198.53.255.140 00:42, November 4, 2015 (UTC)

If only the glowing ones were removed, yes. Though you should also consider if it violates copyright. ☢ Energy X ☣ 09:44, November 4, 2015 (UTC)

Is the one for the Feral Ghoul in the actual article okay? I think it should be fine until we get a better one right? FissionedMetroid (talk) 07:40, December 4, 2015 (UTC)

Dismembering Legs? Edit

I have dismembered dozens of feral ghoul legs and afterwards they just sit where they fell and no longer try to attack, no matter how close I get to them. Can anyone else confirm? Awyman13 0651, November 16, 2015 (UTC)

Confirmed. I use that tactic often. You can ignore downed ones until its finish them off time. (Philbert) 72.128.208.82 07:28, November 17, 2015 (UTC)

Could somebody add a "putrid feral ghoul" to the list? I don't know how to use templates yet, and I don't want to bork the page. Thanks. Roulette of the Wasteland (talk) 00:47, November 19, 2015 (UTC)

Named Feral GhoulsEdit

Dose anyone have any info on any named ferals? as I've come across a group of withered ferals attacking the raiders out the front of The Shamrock Taphouse. There were 7 and they had the following names: Mr Donoghue, Mr Sumner, Ms Rosa, Mrs Donoghue, Mrs Sumner, Mr Parker & Mrs Parker. I think this was a random encounter group but am unsure.Nick3258 (talk) 14:19, December 5, 2015 (UTC)

You mean this. ☢ Energy X ☣ 14:20, December 5, 2015 (UTC)

Infobox pic Edit

This is kinda bothering me, but the infobox pic is really dark, to such a point it makes the subject of the picture hard to see without expanding the pic. Potentially, a cropped down version of this picture can be used. If I crop it down, could it be used to replace the existing infobox pic? The (not-so) faux Hawk 22:26, December 11, 2015 (UTC)

I believe the picture was just from an eariler trailer. So yeah, go on. ☢ Energy X ☣ 22:32, December 11, 2015 (UTC)

I added empty xp arguments. How did you arrive at the xp values? We would need base values at hypothetical 0 intelligence. --Alfwyn (talk) 23:54, January 11, 2016 (UTC)
Collectors edition guide has them in the tables for each creature of fo4 FOLIO3 Reverend Hound 15:50, January 12, 2016 (UTC)

Health??Edit

Im not sure why but I have the guide infront of me and it is quoting completely different health values than the ones here, Possibility of missprint or should I replace? FOLIO3 Reverend Hound 22:31, January 12, 2016 (UTC)

  • update Have an edit ready to go that is correct to the guide any thoughts? FOLIO3 Reverend Hound 22:36, January 12, 2016 (UTC)
If I place a "feral ghoul stalker" next to me and do a getav health, I get 80 as result, not 200. Using a supersledge displaying 56 damage it was nearly dead after two swings. Given damage resistance, this points more to 80 than 200. It did give me 25xp with intelligence 4. This is a good match (22*1.12 = 24.64). I guess all this needs a sound basis of testing (preferrably trying to match it with game data). --Alfwyn (talk) 01:30, January 13, 2016 (UTC)
Ok, after fixing several IDs (away from the loot corpse ones that are never alive), things are finally starting to make sense. That is what I see in game data and ingame experience match. There may be more than one basic "Feral Ghoul", I did choose the one found in the leveled list LCharFeralGhoul where all the rest is found too. If there is another viable one, we may want to document that one in addition I guess.
Now to game data. XP are the two bytes at offset 6 in the ACBS field (FO4edit displays this as "Health offset"). This is probably only base xp for PClevelMult creatures like "Charred feral ghoul" and increased accordingly for higher levels - would need testing. The next two bytes (offest 8) are the level if the creature is not set to PClevelMult ("level" in FO4edit, console getlevel). If set to PClevelMult the minlevel can be found at offset 10 ("Unknown" in FO4edit). Health, Damagereistance and Energyresistance are shown by FO4edit as actorvalues (found in the PRPS field) and shown in the console via getav. What gets me a bit stumped is Radiationresistance, there isn't even an actorvalue for it - where do people get values for it from?
About the guide, we can't mass-copy values from it anyway for copyright reasons, so we are probably better off getting them another way, verifying them along the way. --Alfwyn (talk) 13:15, January 13, 2016 (UTC)
There are the actorvalues "RadResistIngestion" and "RadResistExposure". For the player what's shown in the Pip-Boy is the sum of the two it seems. Have yet to find a creature using those, quite a lot is using the "ImmuneToRadiation" perk. A bit unrealted, we probably should start to document poison resistance too, many creatures have a value for it and it is shown in the Pip-Boy too. --Alfwyn (talk) 13:48, January 13, 2016 (UTC)
  • RE the health values: that sounds fair sorry if I caused any trouble FOLIO3 Reverend Hound 15:33, January 13, 2016 (UTC)
