James[]

The James reference doesn't really fit here, sorry. James says the "I brought you into this world" line sometimes whenever you attack him directly or indirectly. -- Dracosummoner 16:30, 16 June 2009 (UTC)

I don't even know what they thought that meant. Nitpicker of the Wastes 16:34, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
I've never heard it during any other way except when I detonate a car next to him. Did you move it to quote or something?--Kingclyde 17:04, 16 June 2009 (UTC)

boats?[]

I was wondering... due to the abundance of fishing trawlers beached or drowned on the remains of the Potomac river, wouldn't it be ok to include a section on boats too?

The boats don't explode, so I don't think they should be included. --MadCat221 17:48, October 22, 2009 (UTC)
They're still vehicles. And as a matter of fact, one of them is still usable (Duchess Gambit). YuriKaslov-M1911 small Yuri Kaslov 01:03, October 3, 2010 (UTC)

explosions[]

do the explosions of the vehicles take into account DR ratings?--Katikar 16:38, October 22, 2009 (UTC)

ok, well there WAS a section on the explosions, but during a large re-do of the article (which is well done and much apretiated) all of the information about the explosions was removed, is there any reason for this, or did porter just feel it wasn't neccisary?Katikar 19:44, May 4, 2010 (UTC)

I found it overly detailed. The basic info was simply that the explosion radius of buses is bigger than that of cars; don't really need a table for that in my opinion. -- Porter21 (talk) 20:19, May 4, 2010 (UTC)
sounds reasonable, but my original question about DR ratings is still unanswred.Katikar 05:17, May 5, 2010 (UTC)
Yes, DR is taken into account. With DR 85, and Adamantium Skeleton even chain reactions will not be a threat to the player. Buses only cause around 40 damage, while anything smaller causes 15-20 on average. Higher difficulties may vary though.Mictlantecuhtli 09:23, September 3, 2010 (UTC)

Explosive Capability[]

The game was not on very easy it was on the average default setting, and the damage is only 15-20 on the Xbox 360. Mictlantecuhtli 21:13, September 14, 2010 (UTC)

Kris should go grab the explosive damage data from the GECK like he did with scorpion poison, then. Nitty Tok. 21:14, September 14, 2010 (UTC)
I'm at work right now, so I won't necessarily be able to do that right away. If I have a moment I'll remote control my home PC and get that info, otherwise it'll have to wait until I get home. --Kris User Hola 21:26, September 14, 2010 (UTC)
I requested that a few times. I ended up doing in-game tests because I noticed that the buses, etc did nowhere near the damage displayed for the vertibird. I took the average damage received (what I posted) and subtracted 85% DR from different numbers(counting down from the vertibirds damage) until I got similar numbers. So the bus, the biggest vehicle deals about 250 explosive damage and limb damage is so small it's entirely negligible (have to strain your eyes to notice the bar has changed at all). Mictlantecuhtli 21:21, September 14, 2010 (UTC)

K I got some info. Not sure specifically what Radius and IS Radius refer to:

  • Motorcycle: 4 damage, Radius 220, IS Radius 0.
  • Cars (presumably including semi trucks and triwheels): 50 damage, Radius 594, IS Radius 2420.
  • Buses: 200 damage, Radius 1200, IS Radius 5632.
    • The scripted bus explosion in GNR Plaza deals no damage
  • Vertibirds: 550 damage, Radius 1324, IS Radius 4290.

By comparison:

  • Frag grenade: 100 damage, Radius 450, IS Radius 770.
  • Nuka-Grenade: 500 damage, Radius 450, IS Radius 768.

Are there any vehicles I missed? --Kris User Hola 22:22, September 14, 2010 (UTC)

Are the street sweepers triwheels? Thank you also, I honestly thought buses had higher explosive capabilities than that. I retested regular car explosions and despite the 50 damage you have listed by cars, the new average I got (not standing directly on top of them but to the side which I hadn't done) was 20-30 damage. They seem to ignore DR up to a certain point (40-60% DR max allowed for cars) while the buses still inflict around 40-50 damage (75-80% DR is allowed). I didn't have the chance to test those actual DR numbers against the explosions (was doing some deck repairs), but my cousin was here and tested it out on his harddrive with 71 DR and the cars did around full damage (50) or a little over (53). The key seems to be having, ideally, 85% DR. Does anyone not have the adamantium skeleton perk? I'm curious now to see what it's effect is, if any. Mictlantecuhtli 11:22, September 15, 2010 (UTC)
The only street sweepers I've seen are normal static objects, not destructible. At least I've never seen one explode. I think for best testing, standing on top of the vehicle is the best location. Naturally that's difficult or impossible for motorcycles, and probably not necessary for triwheels (those are the wedge-shaped one-person cars) since they're so tiny, but semis have the explosive capacity of a regular car and a much greater size, so stand in front of them or on top of the cab. Buses, of course, are easy to get on top of since they have a magical escalator in the back :D I didn't believe it at first but I tested it, just run into the back of a bus and then jump while still running into it. You'll float to the top. Works on upright cars too, and presumably doesn't work on buses on their sides but I haven't tested that. --Kris User Hola 12:45, September 15, 2010 (UTC)
It does work on flipped buses, but you can't jump up the sides because they are the top and bottom. Jumping up the side requires you jump to about window height first though. You can actually walk up the buses also without jumping, but it's a bit trickier and doesn't seem to work overloaded (speed seems to be the key). I might be able to test without the adamantium skeleton if I make a junk character that puts everything into medicine to get 100 around level 4-5, but I figured since you were on the PC (experience cheats?) you might give it a shot. Also is it alright if I undo Nitpickers deletion of my information now? Mictlantecuhtli 22:58, September 15, 2010 (UTC)
I did it anyway, if it's a problem just take it down. Also the street sweepers I am talking about are mostly in DC (only actually ever seen one of them), it was only vaguely similar to the street sweepers inside buildings but on a larger scale. It's near one of the metro tunnel entrances (I did so much fast traveling trying to find vehicles I hadnt already destroyed though I didn't think to mark it's location). What made me start the tests were noticing the low damage, and I got bored trying to find the bus featured in the opening cinematic (even sketched the washington monument, how it appeared in that scene and visually compared it in-game). small three wheeled car[]

the three wheeled cars remind me of a VW Isetta any thougts

maybe the concept is based on a Dymaxium car--Leon rom 21:15, October 3, 2010 (UTC)

How are motorbikes/cleaners powered?[]

Just now I added a paragraph about in-game contradictions in this respect, but its a bit long and maybe it would be more appropriate to put it under 'Notes' or something. Just a though.

How much damage sets a car on fire?[]

I came to this page trying to find how much damage you have to do to a vehicle to get it to explode. Primarily because I'm trying to set them off while remaining hidden. I can figure it out by experimentation, but I think it's information that belongs on this page. (...if I do arrive at any numbers myself, I'll post them here, but I only have the game for the xbox, so I can't look in the toolkit) --24.183.100.69 13:50, November 2, 2010 (UTC)

Grenades (silent except where they hit), and silenced weapons make the exact numbers a bit unnecesarry. The latter option will actually cause npc's to investigate the car (where the bullets are striking it), not the shooter's position setting them up to die in the resulting explosion. The other Unnamed 2 door.[]

Fallout 3 Derelict 2 door

There is another two door in Fallout 3 & New Vegas but it isn't a Corvega. It needs its own page attached to the appropriate vehicle page. --Ant2242 19:10, May 11, 2011 (UTC)
