I wonder if you can start from a level 20 good guy, then kill and steal to neutral and get the achievement, then get more bad karma to become evil and get the achievement? 23:35, 15 March 2009 (UTC)

As far as i can tell, there are no achievements in the PCversion. Unless Im ot being told something. Can someone else confirm this?? 15:20, 30 October 2008 (UTC)

Yes there are achievements in the PC version as it is Windows Live enable (like Halo 2 Vista). If you log in using a Xbox gamertag or make one, you can get achievements. Of course those just show what you've done, they don't give any benefits, except gamerscore... I had some problems with logging in, i didn't get to download my GT profile. Might work now, might not. Woorloog 23:58, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
So there's no point to these, except some sort of Microsoft Gamerscore? No unlocking or trophies? Mirar 07:07, 19 November 2008 (UTC)
LOL, no, no point at all. For some reason console users need affirmation from Sony or MS to tell them how well they are doing. The bronze ones especially are, "Thanks for turning up" awards.
I certainly hope they get something for them.

I can't wait to actually play Fallout 3 with TROPHIES ENABLED! I'm pumped, but today wasn't the day so i can't wait to get more trophies with an evil, radiated canibal. Clank250 Monday December 15 22:29 (MST)

What are these trophies? What do you get? Or did someone mix up "achievement" and "trophy"? /Mirar 12:57, 16 December 2008 (UTC)

Trophies are the PS3 knockoff of the 360 achievements.

Yes, trophies are the PS3 equivalent. Ausir 13:03, 16 December 2008 (UTC)
So, more or less, they call achievement (you did something, normally) trophy (you got something), just to be contrary? Okey, I see that confusion. :) But you still don't actually get anything unlocked, or similar? /Mirar 17:59, 16 December 2008 (UTC)
They're probably trademarked by Sony and Microsoft, so they wouldn't be able to use the same word. And no, they don't get anything unlocked in FO3, it's just a kind of gamescore (although they do unlock stuff in some other games). Ausir 18:36, 16 December 2008 (UTC)

the trophies don't work for me! i have 3 characters and no trophies have been uploaded, do i have to start a new character? i just did and got the pipboy and it came up saying 'You did not earn a trophy' anybodu know why this is? NukeSpammer 17:55, 16 December 2008 (UTC)

Never mind now i was just another unfortunate victim of the version 2.5 / 2.52 bug but ive fixed it now - anyone else affected that needs to fix it just message me and ill tell yopu what to do NukeSpammer 18:03, 27 December 2008 (UTC)

I am Ripping my hair out with a mini-nuke right now. I am trying to get 800 gamerscore in the next 5 days... (DAMN YOU OA!) And, I started a new character, to get the Pipboy achievement. For some reason, I get my pipboy, and I DON'T get an achievemnt. I registered on live, as "Jetty" It said it was unavailable, so I changed it to "Jetenator" and tried again. And to my shock horror: All my saves were gone. And I hadn't even gotten any achievements. I am about to just get a ripper and saw through the damn thing. What the hell do I do? Thanks in advance. Jetty78.145.177.94 12:56, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

This may be too late to help but your saves are still there, but GFWL creates it's own directory for saves. Simply go into your save folder and move them into the subcategory (it would be "Jetenator" in your case). Also, any achievement opportunities that have been passed are not retroactive and you must go back to a previous save to "achieve" it.

This is [un]Officially the biggest joke and waste of time imaginable. Have fun guys! Dragonalumni 14:30, 31 January 2009 (UTC)

Message for NukeSpammer - The trophies don't work for me either! I'm on PS3 - I got some but the first few do not apper. can you please tell me how to get them.--Gamer1973 20:42, 6 February 2009 (UTC)

I have to ask: could using the console in the PC version of the game earn you the dreaded "cheater" achievement? 01:15, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

DLC Achievements Edit

This article states that each DLC pack will contain 100 achievement points. Anchorage has 100g, and (according to their respective pages on this Wiki) The Pitt will have 100g, and Broken Steel will have 150g. I'm bringing this up for both the inconsistency, and the fact the Microsoft announced that all games must have 1000g included for the retail purchase price, with an additional 250g that may be added later via paid, or free DLC. Both sums of DLC gamerscores however exceed this 250g limit. Could we look at finding proper consistent numbers? It also may be worth noting (if either sets of numbers for The Pitt, and Broken Steel are correct) that this will be the one of the few games to exceed the 1250g Gamerscore cap for a single game including DLC (Halo 3 being another at 1750)

Krapehtta 02:26, 7 February 2009 (UTC)

Uhh....duh. Fable 2 will have 1350, if I'm not mistaken. Alot of games are passing 1000. Hell, The Orange Box might hit 2000 or even 2500 if all the new maps from the PC version are released onto the 360, as well as all the class updates.

Weird XBOX related number-of-achievements-in-Fallout 3-bug Edit

I was just checking my achievements out, via the center XBOX button on the controller.

When you're on the main list of all the games, Fallout 3 is listed as having "<number of achievements you have> of 68 Achievements"

However, when you press A on the Fallout 3 selection to view the F3 achievements, it says there are 64.

Maybe there's a secret 4 achievements we don't know about?
T 03:58, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
Errr...just noticed that Point Lookout's achievements have been released, but aren't accessible, which explains why I'm seeing "<##> of 68" on the main area of my achievements, but only 64 in the actual list. Nevermind!

One missing.. Edit

Hey guys

There is one achievement missing in this page : the one that you get when placing a grenade into a sleeping person's inventory.—Preceding comment was unsigned. Please sign your posts with ~~~~!

Psychotic Prankster is listed (near the bottom of the base game section). -- Porter21 (talk) 11:08, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

There should be an achievement for picking 50 pockets! Oh well... •.• 18:41, March 8, 2010 (UTC)Alex the fat man

Vault-Tec C.E.O - Help! Edit

Ok, up until recently, I hadn't been playing Fallout 3 for the bobbleheads. I now have 11, and planned on acquiring the rest of them. Problem is, on my current save file, I destroyed Raven Rock, so currently, the energy weapons trophy is not a possibility. I have multiple saves, but I really don't want to to have to go through vault 87 again, and then search for the bobbleheads I had found after leaving Raven Rock. So my question is...

Can I get Fallout Wiki-Tec C.E.O trophy by acquiring trophies in multiple saves? Or do I have to get all 20 trophies in one file? PLEASE help!

What do you mean? If you mean unlocking other trophies, I don't know, I have the 360 and PC version, sorry. If you mean the bobbleheads, yes, you have to get all of them in one save, but you can start over(unfortunately), or suck it up and go through Vault 87 again(and the bobblehead, search everywhere, before going towards the level where you meet the President). You should find the Energy weapons bobblehead, and if you unlocked the footlocker there, the self-destruct code for Raven Rock(yes, you can blow it up).

Or you can check the wiki on the bobblehead.

multiplayer Edit

will there ever be any multiplayer for fallout 3 so two could explore the wasteland and if so any new acheivments

Is there any way to unlock achievements in a later point in the game? I'm lvl 20, just signed up to LIVE!, however my achievements appear locked..

for the co-op question, I think bethesda confirmed they would not add multiplayer. But a fun fact, the cancelled fallout game, Van Buren, was intended to have multiplayer--Nadel69 01:16, 25 July 2009 (UTC)

No there wont be multiplayer. Bethesda baught fallout off Interplay. Interplay kept the rights to a fallout MMORPG (Fallout online). However, if said games doesnt come out before mid 2010, bethesda will get these rights.

mothership zeta Edit

the game is launched into a new era by this add on but also is a strange one

Maybe its just me Edit

I'd always assumed that the '100' on the Lockpick achievement was representing one of the 'Very Hard' locks, not indicative of the number of locks needed for the achievement.

Maybe it was originally supposed to be for picking 100 locks? Since really, you can get 50 without even trying. Bethesda even managed to fuck up putting in trophies by mislabeling them, but who didn't see that coming from an ocean away? Trophies/Achievments are generally pretty useless anyhow, except to show how much time people waste collecting them. Fallout 3 has rekindled my interest in video games but not enough to run around collecting small graphical reminders of how empty my life is. HBS75.69.104.65 12:51, June 3, 2010 (UTC)

Install Trophies w/ GOTY Editon Edit

Hi, I'm unable to download the patches due to inconvenience of Internet connection, but I plan to get the Game of the Year Edition. Will the trophy set install when I run it? CoreyRuehling 00:26, October 3, 2011 (UTC)
