I just don't know about Area 51. Why even mention it if it's just speculation? Deleted. Gamer4Iife 15:34, March 5, 2010 (UTC)

Death Valley hasn't been proven to be in the game. Where's the source? And also, LVB Station and Strip monorail station are the same place. Why put it in twice?

As a continuation of above, whoever put in Death Valley and that little message about reporting people has terrible grammar/capitalization. Nobody wants to see that. Fixed.

Why is Atomic Wrangler Casino in bold? Wouter215 12:35, June 21, 2010 (UTC)

  • Changed the name of Strip to Casinos, as Silver Rush and Atomic Wrangler are NOT located in the New Vegas Strip, but rather in Freeside. I will also be including Buffalo Bill's to the list. I don't know where to move the monorail station and the other one, so I shall leave it there until someone like Nitpicker or Tezzla can figure out where to list it. -Volundarkvioa

Moved LVB Station/Vegas Monorail Station

Since they were previously under "The Strip" section which I changed to "Casinos", they no longer fit under there, so I've made them sub-bullets underneath the New Vegas bullet. Volundarkvioa 00:03, June 30, 2010 (UTC)

Can someone make an article about the Elvis based place with the

Area 51

I have a funny feeling that if it is not in the vanilla game it will either be an official DLC or a community mod. It just seems odd to leave something so influential to 50's Sci Fi out of a game that draws so much from said era of Sci Fi.--24.150.238.75 00:07, October 18, 2010 (UTC)

Where do you live in Fallout: New Vegas?

When do I get a house. Where will it be? Do I have options like in Fallout 3?--Anthony DeGarimore 10:55, October 19, 2010 (UTC)Anthony

Radscorpion Burrow

Under the unmarked locations someone needs to add one for Radscorpion Burrow and make a page for it. Its referenced on the Radscorpion Queen page. Its due south of Nipton Road Pit Stop about 1 full grid. It contains the following: 3 dead waste Landers, 3 jackal Gang members and 1 Prospector. As well as 1 Radscorpion Queen and 5 or so various sized Radscorpions. Also, Oliver Swanick may be found just inside the entrance just standing there, he will mention winning the lottery and then run outside and stand near the entrance.

Fallout: New Vegas Map

I have added the Fallout: New Vegas Map which I replaced the old one that was.... well didn't show all the locations. Still waiting for Porter21 to come out with a new looking map.

Plus it was an outside link... K2chris1983 16:17, November 2, 2010 (UTC)

Why not use the map used in the Mojave Wasteland? The one used at the moment seems kind of out of place. What's the point of having all those locations marked (eg. C1, C2) when there is no corresponding legend? At least the other map has locations marked just like the main in-game Pipboy Map. --Machienzo 08:37, January 10, 2011 (UTC)

Marked Locations?

How many marked locations are there total? My pipboy says I’ve discovered 180, I think I might have a few left but I cant find a reference on an exact amount. I don't want to waste time looking any more than I have to. Also shouldn’t that number be listed on this page? ReapTheChaos 11:17, November 11, 2010 (UTC)

There are 187 locations in game.

According to my Pip-Boy, I've actually discovered 188 locations. NovemberBravo 06:10, November 26, 2010 (UTC)

I've found 189, counting Jimmy's well and Ranger Morales' corpse, without any downloaded content. --Anonymous 05:14, March 21, 2011 (UTC)

Categories.

Wouldn’t it be far easier for players to have one alphabetical list of all locations verses being broken down into categories? Or even better yet have both, one complete alphabetical list, then below that break them down into subcategories. Having everything broken up like it is makes it rather hard to find them. If youre trying to find a location, but you don’t know if its an NCR or legion or a settlement or whatever makes it downright ridiculous to look it up.

Lastly, this new category “Locations based on real places” convolutes the list even further. You have Red Rock Canyon listed there while Red Rock Drug lab remains in the wasteland category. Also i'm sure quite a few more locations were based on "real" places than whats listed there. Lake mead is a real lake yet its still under wasteland locations as well as Calville bay. Its getting downright ridiculous to find what you’re looking for! Whats next a separate category for places that are irradiated? This is getting absurd. ReapTheChaos 11:35, November 12, 2010 (UTC)

How do you have all the location names toggled visible always without having to mouse over it?

If you want a simple A-Z list why not try the category page, Category:Fallout: New Vegas locations, thats what it is there for. This is the overview page and should provide a little bit more information than a simple list and thats what it is doing whether you like it or not. Oh and I forgot to add, if you know exactly what you are looking for, you have that little box in the top right you can type in it and hit search. ☣Avatar☣ 03:53, February 16, 2011 (UTC)

If this is an overview, why isn't it tabled? Part of the problem I see is that locations are being grouped arbitrarily. For instance, I see some listed by faction, others by map cell location, and others by name of what some one has decided is the nearest major reference point. Alpha-numerically is isn't necessarily the best, but it also doesn't weigh a location subjectively. I mostly use this page to check unmarked locations, but they are getting lost in the convoluted hierarchies. --Xclockwatcher 07:22, July 24, 2011 (UTC)

Map

The map picture is missing at least the Followers Safehouse marker on it.

Unmarked Locations

What is the qualifying factor for inclusion? Some of the listed 'locations' are simply 'points of interest' with no location value. Points of interest have little value other than visual appeal, and if they need mentioning at all, really belong on other location pages as subsections or footnotes.

If the supposed unmarked locale is unrelated to any quests or has no interior cell features it should probably be folded into a mention on the page of the nearest marked location or the related subject page(ie camp fires and the like), and have its citation removed from this page.--Xclockwatcher 17:53, June 27, 2011 (UTC)

Can someone improve my edit please?

Under the heading of "General Information" I added the fact that with Wild Wasteland there are in fact 188 discoverable world map locations in the game without any Add-ons present. However, my formatting skills are still limited as I am new at this. Could someone please add the proper "Wild Wasteland" formatting to my edit, with the proper icon and everything? I would be grateful for any help in making the information I added conform to proper format guidelines. Thanks in advance. gqcrescent

Formatting

This page could use some touching up to how groups of locations are organized and formatted. What we have right now are several types of location types and little if any definition of criteria for inclusion or formatting. I would like to bring up the issue that the page needs to define and format location types more clearly.

Unmarked buildings and caves that are not distinct locations should not be receiving the same listing weight as a map marked location. If they are listed at all, they should be listed immediately following the marked location they are directly related to(perhaps using double bullets?), not alphabetized in a list of secondary map marked locations.

Major faction locations should have a major presence of the said faction, otherwise how is it major to that faction? For example, how are the Great Khan supply caves a major location for them. The locations only have one rogue Great Khan and are more relevant to Bittersprings and the NCR geographically and quest wise. Might as well retitle the page: Faction Locations. I don't know about anyone else but when I look up places on a map I start with what is geoprahically relevant.

I'm going to suggest here and now this page needs a revamp. --Xclockwatcher 08:59, July 24, 2011 (UTC)
