Describing HPFA Only Firing Burst[]

HPFA stands for high-power automatic. Despite this, the rifle in-game only fires in single-round and burst fire. The big problem here is how to describe it: do we say it fires full-auto, despite the fact the code and splash text clearly says it technically doesn't? Should we put a note on the article saying it doesn't meet its name? Findabair pointed out that if we say it's full-auto anywhere, we're going to run into trouble with the data blocks (which are sourced) clearly saying "burst." I'm not understanding the problem. Burst fire can both be a selector setting on automatics and a method of firing a fully-automatic weapon. Firing automatics in short bursts is the preferred method, full auto fire outside of suppressive fire is very much frowned upon. Great Mara (talk) 21:35, 29 June 2021 (UTC)

I understand where you are coming from. It makes sense that the doubled burst size comes from setting the rifle to 'A' and firing six-round bursts instead of three-round bursts. The rate of fire of an FN FAL is reportedly 700 RPM, so it's also physically possible.

I won't change anything on the page, but I would prefer to word this into it somehow. UnderworldBar (talk) 14:34, 18 July 2021 (UTC)
