In my PC version the game froze everytime I reaced the Enterence, and I had to "Struggle" a bit with the game until it didin't freeze at that point 89.138.249.155 16:52, September 20, 2009 (UTC)
bug[]
There appears to be a scripting bug in the room with Amata.
When you enter the room with Amata, the guard and the Overseer will go hostile. If you kill the guard, the Overseer will turn non-hostile eventually and you can talk to him. The bug is sometimes the Overseer will turn non-hostile and not talk to you. When he is in this state, you can apparently steal from him him without any chance of getting caught (unless I was obscenely lucky) and he will eventually run back to his room.
If anyone can consistently reproduce this, please report it on the bugs page. I will try again when I get a chance. --Falseprophet 20:32, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
Escape victims[]
Shouldn't the two innocent people who were murdered by the guards in the Atrium be named? They were the Vault Dweller's classmates after all (the asian-looking girl and a guy). --FFN 22:33, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
- No idea, but if you're quick you can kill the two guards and they run off and don't get killed. I saw them then run to the exit (where radroaches are) and then disappear. --Falseprophet 22:37, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
- They were probably simply removed from the game at that point, on the off chance you can save them, since they are scripted to be killed very quickly. --FFN 22:50, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
- Just to add, I actually ran straight past them as soon as the area loaded, took on the guards and killed them both before the Holden's reached them. The Holdens weren't there when I turned around, and I continued on my way. When I walked through the door that the guards were guarding from the opposite direction, both of the Holdens were lying on the ground dead with the guards, and I could take their jumpsuits. 86.54.42.120 13:36, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
- You can also save them by attempting to pickpocket them. They will not turn hostile, but they will look at you very angry. The guards will still be waiting at the door until you approach them.

Hang on, if your on the PC version, can't you resurrect Jonas. I would do it myself but I am on the 360. Acording to another page, if you save the guy then when you return later, it looks like he died in front of the vault door.(I have never seen him there after saving him, myself). For the PC -- Can someone confirm that they both run away if you engage the guards? I ran past Tom Holden and engaged the security guards. Mary fled but Tom stayed to fight. He picked up the first gun that drops from a dead guard and continues to help me. Only when both guards were dead did he leave the Atrium. Grail Quest 10:57, March 6, 2012 (UTC)
- You have to attract the guards' aggro before Tom finishes speaking to Mary. Then, if you would like to avoid killing them, run up the stairs past the radroaches, and they should have their hands full.--116.250.217.140 01:45, December 26, 2014 (UTC)
Item in safe[]
Shouldn't this be named? Its not like we're worried about spoilers here and it might help someone to determine if they care to get it.--221.143.25.19 11:31, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
Password[]
I removed the "The Password is Amata" part of the article. When you enter the hacking minigame, the "password" and the hacking passwords are two different things. It does not actually ask you for the password, and the password could be anything.Gloqwi 17:16, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
Thanks to whoever re-edited that part. Much better English. :) Gloqwi 18:26, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
tinted glasses[]
Could it be that the tinted glasses you find on the maintenance guy(can't remember his name) were originally going to be used when you first walk outside? I just thought of it seeing as the old manuals and the movie on f2 talked about leaving the vault with protective eye wear. Lord Snip. 10:12, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
I would rather have sunglasses if that were the case but it does sound like an interesting theory. JerichoRCDF 17:26, December 4, 2009 (UTC)
I recall Stanley complaining of headaches that he perceived as caused by the lighting. Maybe this maintenance worker was using them to stave off his own headaches (whether or not they helped). -Anon
Not talking to Anata[]
Could somebody tell me what is going to happen later on in the game?
Okay, so I opened the vault, but I left before Anata came down. I didn't kill her, and she said she'd meet me down later "if she could", but after seeing a few Youtube videos, everyone else talked to her. Is this going to affect the game later-on? And, am I still going to get the "Trouble on the Homefront" mission?Arstar 23:55, March 15, 2011 (UTC)
I don't see how that could happen. She comes running down as soon as you activate the door. Maby she got stuck in a wall or something? Anyway, it shouldn't change anything. As long as Escape! completed after you left the vault, Trouble on the Homefront will start at the normal time. Bshardy 07:01, September 18, 2011 (UTC)
It changes nothing. I never spoke to her because I don't like her. As soon as I activate the door switch I go near the gear door itself and wait here until it is opened enough to get out. She says something like "oh my god, you opened the door" and stands still near the activator. She doesn't go further. After some time she walks away and MS16 trouble on the homefront is exactly the same.--Croquignol (talk) 18:30, March 30, 2013 (UTC)
Blindness[]
Shouldn't you go blind if you go out of the Vault? Living there entire life and you can see the sun? Very strange...MysteryStranger 20:26, July 10, 2011 (UTC)
There is still light (Well, lite might I add) in the vault so going blind would be highly unlikely

You ever been to the Museum of Technology? The Vault tour says that the lights or simulating the sun itself, so you won't feel gloomy. --DeathclawAlpha 21:36, October 30, 2011 (UTC)
