It's classed as misc., How does one use this item? 184.108.40.206 00:20, March 10, 2011 (UTC)
its passive, dummy
To whoever was so crass that they could not also sign their name above, the use in question, sir, is in its visible application. I have had it in my inventory, sir, and it observably produced no change in canine behavior. Perhaps you might care to explain how it's implemented via the GECK, or provide a USEFUL response in any case. 220.127.116.11 00:54, April 20, 2011 (UTC)
It is most likely from a cut quest; my guesses are an extra step to Rex's quest or a way to distract Legion/NCR/Fiend dogs. You're all welcome. -- Valoopy 00:06, May 16, 2011 (UTC)
Going to second that it has no effect on any dogs anywhere in the wasteland, having lugged it around with me now for 3 playthroughs and seeing no change in the behavior of any canines anywhere in the game, including NCR/Legion dogs, coyotes, aggressive wild dogs, passive wild dogs in Honest Hearts, or Rex. It's just 1 lb of dead weight. BeatrixRussell 07:02, May 29, 2011 (UTC)
It only works on the wild dogs of the waste not the ferocious dogs or coyote ect ect if you go to the left of the NCR Correctional Facility before the 1st gate where the trailers are then you will see 2 wild dogs, you can pick there pockets and I do believe there are some more in other random locations and they rush to your aid if attacked near them if holding the Doggie treat hope this help, Wandering Courier.
Unused Script Edit
According to The Cutting Room Floor page on Unused Items in Fallout: New Vegas (https://tcrf.net/Fallout:_New_Vegas/Unused_Items#Doggie_Treat), there is a script associated with the Doggie Treat that would deal fatigue damage when ingested by dogs, only the script is unused, because as both the article here on Nukapedia and the article on TCRF note, it is not possible to give the treat to any canine characters. --18.104.22.168 15:22, November 3, 2016 (UTC)
