Does this later your physical appearance at all? Moonsaves 12:08, 19 November 2008 (UTC)

No, none of the perks do. Ausir 12:37, 19 November 2008 (UTC)

This perk is FUN. It makes a geeky science-y type able to take hits, survive radiation and fire a laser rifle all at the same time.-Accountless Avenger

does this stack with Toughness?

Yes It Does. All Things that offer DR Stack up to the Total Limit of 85% this includes Barkskin too, whatever apparel you are wearing as well as Med x.

i.e Im currently Wearing the Winterized T-51b Power Armor and helmet with the toughness, Barkskin and Cyborg perk giving me a total of 80% DR.. med x used will raise this by only 5% of course..

P.s As a rule i Like having all perks stacked because sometimes i enjoy wearing less Damage resisting Apparel such as leboux's mask and Reilly's combat armour.

- Question -

Do These Perks rather than that of the apparel protect better against Opponents with armour piercing weapons?? are they Counted as armour at all in the same sense?.. TheRepublicOfDave 18:33, 3 February 2009 (UTC)

DR is DR. Doesn't matter where it comes from. --Macros 18:33, 3 February 2009 (UTC)

Poison Resistance? Edit

What the heck is Poison Res? And what is poison? I never encountered any poison... Jetholt (Jetty) 17:12, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

Radscorpions (both normal and Giant variants) attack with poison. Poison Resistance is the ability to resist poison (in the same way Damage Resistance allows you to resist damage). --tuch

Ah, I see. Rad scorpions rarely come in contact with me ^^Jetholt (Jetty) 19:25, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
Just to note, since broken steel and the addition of albino radscorpions, this perk becomes far more useful (as if it wasnt already), since the albinos' poison DOT is much more noticeable than the other two varieties WouldYouKindly 04:30, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

Bias Edit

The first note appears to carry a heavy bias towards taking this perk. Perhaps it should be replaced with a comparison to other damage reduction talents since the fact that cyborg is superior to toughness and nerd rage is mathmatically proveable while it's merits over perks with completely different effects are more an opinion than anything else. Cyborg Perk post-100 Energy Weapon skill? Edit

Since the perk adds 10 to Energy Weapon skill, I'm wondering if getting the perk after reaching 100 in Energy Weapons would still increase the effectiveness of them (similar to how using skill books after reaching 100 in a skill does).

You can't get past 100 in any skill. "similar to how using skill books after reaching 100 in a skill does" is also false. Skill books have no effect once 100 in reached in the skill at hand

Terminator? Edit

In the article is says this is a reference to Terminator, I pretty sure that's wrong and should be removed, because in Terminator they were robots who looked like people, not cyborgs.-- 01:35, September 29, 2011 (UTC)

Cybernetic organism. Touch the page again and I'm reporting you for blanking. This shit is getting old. UserGreatMaraMessage 01:36, September 29, 2011 (UTC)
You really think Bethesda had terminator in mind when they made the icon? I don't think so, and terminator is a robot. A cyborg is a human who's had robot parts implanted. Star Paladin Cross is a cyborg, terminator is a robot.-- 01:50, September 29, 2011 (UTC)
Congratulations. You just proved you don't even watch the movies. UserGreatMaraMessage 01:51, September 29, 2011 (UTC)
I've seen the first three terminator movies, and I don't remember them even once saying the terminators used to be human. The Terminators are not a cyborgs, there androids. And even if I'm wrong, Do you really think Bethesda meant it to have anything to do with terminator? Just because it looks similar doesn't mean it's a reference.-- 02:34, September 29, 2011 (UTC)
No one is saying that the Terminators are cyborgs instead of robots. What we are saying is that the perk image looks just like the Terminator when his skin is damaged and peeling off. The visual similarity is plenty to list the reference.--Gothemasticator 02:42, September 29, 2011 (UTC)
No, for one thing to be a reference to something else, the creators of the first thing would have to of had the second thing in mind when creating it. The image just looks like a person with cybernetic implants96.26.129.246 03:07, September 29, 2011 (UTC)
You said it yourself, terminators aren't cyborgs, so why then should they be included on an article about the cyborg perk?-- 03:51, September 29, 2011 (UTC)
Nevermind the fact that Reese and the T101 are constantly referring to them as cybernetic organisms in T1, T2, and T3. UserGreatMaraMessage 03:56, September 29, 2011 (UTC)
Doesn't matter what there referred to as, it matters what they are. Unless they were at one point human, there not a cyborg. They just look like humans, which makes them androids. If they are referred to as cyborgs, the director didn't know what a cyborg is. 04:01, September 29, 2011 (UTC)

The director? Are you intentionally being ignorant now? UserGreatMaraMessage 04:04, September 29, 2011 (UTC)

I give up, I'm gone arguing with you guys, you just refuse to accept that your wrong, so I see no point continuing. Oh, and by the way, the director is the one who rights the movie. 04:10, September 29, 2011 (UTC)
No the Director is generally the one that directs the filming and certain aspects of the actions taken by the actors. Very rarely is the director also the writer. UserGreatMaraMessage 04:19, September 29, 2011 (UTC)
Yes, I understand that, but James Cameron is the one who wrote and directed all the terminator films besides salvation.- 04:25, September 29, 2011 (UTC)
Along with 3 others which had creative input as well. UserGreatMaraMessage 04:32, September 29, 2011 (UTC)

Oh look, the proxy anon is back. UserGreatMaraMessage 03:08, September 29, 2011 (UTC)

Speculation concerning this perk. Edit

I'm not entirely sure why it's believed as homage towards The Terminator? There are plenty of movies/ideas that this could be a reference to. One off the top of my head? Screamers. Skål! 03:01, September 29, 2011 (UTC)

Skeletal machine partswhich are mimicking the damage received by the T101 in T2 is pretty dead on for it to be a reference. UserGreatMaraMessage 03:07, September 29, 2011 (UTC)

Screamers has a perfect scene that fits that picture also. In fact? A couple different scenes. Skål! 03:08, September 29, 2011 (UTC)

I'm going to watch Screamers now but from the general descriptions of what I just read they're all blade wielding? UserGreatMaraMessage 03:12, September 29, 2011 (UTC)

I'm glad you are! It is a wonderful movie. (If you're into those types of movies, that is.) There are different types of Screamers though. I won't spoil it for you. ;) Skål! 03:14, September 29, 2011 (UTC)

It's the eye that really gives it away. Check this pic for reference.--Gothemasticator 03:39, September 29, 2011 (UTC)
I got a Forbidden message when I tried to view the pic. UserGreatMaraMessage 03:43, September 29, 2011 (UTC)

Same with me. :/ Skål! 03:52, September 29, 2011 (UTC)

It doesn't matter how similar you think it looks, terminators aren't cyborgs and therefore shouldn't be included on the page for the cyborg perk, unless of course a dev clearly states it's meant to be terminator.

Do you know the definition for the word 'dumb'? It means repeating the same actions while expecting different results. If they didn't agree with you under the previous article then why would you bring this argument onto mine? That and even if Ol' Arnold wasn't playing a cyborg, the image could still play homage to him. Therefore, your argument is void. Skål! 03:58, September 29, 2011 (UTC)

I know the definition for the word dumb, but apparently you don't. The definition is lacking intelligence or good judgment; stupid; dull-witted-- 04:03, September 29, 2011 (UTC)

There are many definitions for every word. That and you essentially just summed up what I said anyways. Just don't insult my intelligence when you are the one making a nuisance of yourself. And I love how you completely abandoned your little theory just to get back at me. ;) Skål! 04:06, September 29, 2011 (UTC)

After watching that the Pip-Boy icon still seems to be more a reference to Terminator with the face and arm stripped off as they are. But that movie got confusing at the end. What type was the knife psycho and the ones at the very end... and was that teddy bear moving? >_>; UserGreatMaraMessage 09:57, September 29, 2011 (UTC)
Sorry for the bad link. Just google image search terminator, and you can see the similarities of the robotic eye.--Gothemasticator 16:22, September 29, 2011 (UTC)

I felt the need to sign up just to mention that a cyborg is a human with robotic parts, or a robot with biological parts, therefore the terminator is a cyborg, it is erroneus to say a terminator is an android, an android is a full robot in human male form, the female equivalent being gynoid.--MrSuperHappy 19:36, November 7, 2011 (UTC)
