I came back to this town some time later after I had finished the Ant and Mech quest and the entire town was dead except for the kid and a new sentry robot. It seemed all of them had died at the front of the town, is this a glitch or part of the game?

I know RL-3 hangs around Cantebury Commons if you hire him, then ask him to leave later. I wonder if he does any good fighting the random mobs that attack the town. ---- 21:02, 10 December 2008 (UTC)

The rewards for investing in the traders are based on your level (I think), I've received different amounts of stealth boys as a reward from crazy wolfgang.

I have never seen a trader in this town. I've waited days around the "front". Am I not understanding what the front of the town is? I assumed it meant the circular road next to the water tower, although I've explored further down also... FistFullofNovocain 20:16, 19 December 2008 (UTC)

This town shares the same problem as arefu,it is always under threat from random nasties,like for me,except when i first when to CC it was under attack by 2 feral ghouls and a roamer who stood back like he was giving orders,luckily for me charon was on his way to under world when this happened,so the ghoul saved the day (then got killed cause i thought he was feral)

When I came back to CC after killing the AntAgonizer and convincing the Mechanist to give up, a Yao Guai showed up in the middle of the town and killed Uncle Roe and Machete before I could take it down. Will resurrecting Uncle Roe with the console allow me to access the Merchant Empire unmarked quest?

Highwayman's friend Edit

I could not find the Highwayman's friend in the garage, there's only 2 shelves so I figured I encountered a bug perhaps. I also edited the page as someone falsely reported a nuka quantum in the machine (it's a random chance)

Highwayman's friend is not on either of the shelves in the garage, it's on a shelf in the back office of the garage, the area has 4 shelves in total. Use the door directly north of the bay doors and turn left. Jereth Khan 05:14, October 17, 2009 (UTC)

  • After The Superhuman Gambiti found a sentry bot outside shooting it made it hostile but i could deactivate it with Robotics Expert after a few days a Mister gutsy appeared with my Seargent R-L3 again shoting it made it hostile they could be protection from the mechanist.

Does this town name have anything to do with the 14th century story know as Canterbury Tales[1] by Geoffrey Chaucer?

Anyone Else Have This Problem? Edit

I know where the merchants stop infront of the place, but the damn enemies spawn RIGHT next to the merchants in my game...and kill them before i can get close enough to help. because of this, the only [alive] merchant is Lucky Harith....i suppose he IS lucky. but i was wondering is if there was anyone else who had this problem, and what did they do about it? i planted mines near where the enemies spawn, but it isnt quite doing the trick, so i was hoping for some other tips  :P

It's all about the spawn location. Enemies respawn on their corpses. Same goes for respawning NPCs. So, you can drag the enemy corpses away from there and it should help. Alternatively, when I first get to Canterbury Commons, I kill the ants and robots. The ants always disappear, but I usually get both robots to respawn. They're friendly, and you can set them up anywhere. You can take them over to the merchants if you want; I had a robobrain respawn as a sentrybot, and I had it placed across from the diner, so Canterbury is locked down pretty hard. I suppose the caravans are still vulnerable in my file, but the biggest threat to them is if Sam Warrick respawns or something.

Dom's wife? Edit

im pretty sure machete isnt doms wife but what do yous think? iwont remove it yet so can someone help me out with this like is there any in game evidence that they are married? LuciusZelgius 05:42, 28 March 2009 (UTC)

I doubt it, Seeing as though she is probably 16-17 and he's retired so hes probably over 60. I dont think bethesda would have made a cradle snatching merc. 22:24, 26 March 2010

Deathclaws and radscorpions? Edit

Is it common for them to spawn near the diner? I've not seen a single hostile in Canterbury Commons.-- 20:59, 14 May 2009 (UTC)

East? Edit

Surely the area where the traders pass through is to the west of the city? I know it's to the east of the map, but it's definitely the west of the city.

Strange Pink/Purple Light West of Canterburry Commons Edit

Playing the XBox 360 version. As I was leaving Canterburry Commons, I noticed a strange pillar of pinkish-purple light just beyond the tree where the merchants normally stop. It was regtangular in shape and went as high up as the game drew (except when looking straight up, the light disappereared). When I walked inside it, the light went away but I saw a corridor of small light beams around me. Odd glitch. Just felt like mentioning.

RL-3s buddyEdit

On one of my play storys in canterbury there is a clone or rl-3 named mr.handy(or something with mr. in it) anyway he hangs out next to the mailbox. is he supposed to be there, also i think it's worth mentonting that a giant rad-scorp spawns right next to canterbury(on the little road under the hill of the robot center) and tries to kill/caravans/caravan guards/Townspeople

That would just be the regular Mister Handy. There are also Mister Gutsys, RL-3 is a unique Mister Gutsy. And the spawn there is probably worth mentioning, since it could be important if people didn't want the town to get hurt. Frank-West 00:26, May 28, 2010 (UTC)
