As of writing moment (patch 1.5, all 3 DLC) my personal testing of the pyromaniac perk with the various flamers have yielded quite different results than the information here. The only "in-game" dmg affected by the perk are that of the regular flamer and the Burnmaster, the Rapid-Torch and Slo-Burn seem unaffected. - BeastOfMeatAndHair
Obviously will you notest this, but the Burnmaster is good because you don't need to "waste" a perk for him, since he have the same DMG of a regular flamer with the Pyromaniac perk, thus letting you concentrate in some other usefull perks (like Commando). Contrary to the info above, the Pyromaniac perk affects Slo-Burn Flamer, raising the -2(5s) to a wooping -8(5s). Brfritos 22:51, September 16, 2009 (UTC)
burn master Edit
how would one go about repairing the park pyromaniac so that it does affect the burnmaster? and does any of the patches fix it? if no then the above remains a pertantent question. can it be done through console? IE add [base id] to class [class id] so on etc.
- Probably. You just need to slip the Burnmaster into the affected weapons list for the perk. Other than that, no patches have fixed the perk. Nitty Tok. 23:32, February 19, 2010 (UTC)

Opened it up. found the PerkPyromaniacWeapons list under Miscellaneous Form List but when i double click that file to open it, it won't let me add a new line for Burnmaster.. in fact it won't so much as let me edit one of the other items... I need help please, I have no idea why it won't let me add the new line... help is more than welcome. thanks. Cedderick Blemmingtongrowsmythe

this is a link to a small fallout 3 mod that adds actual flame based weapons to the pyromaniac perk. the instructions on the description pages are comcise and obvious. please feel the relief of this fix wash over you I hope you all love it.
Critical hit note Edit
If you kill an enemy with the Burnmaster and the killing blow is a critical hit, there's a good chance that the corpse will explode. The explosion WILL damage (light damage) the player if they're near the enemy when it blows up. Torinir 06:24, November 7, 2010 (UTC)
Overall DPS Edit
I calculate that if fired for five seconds, the burnmaster will achive 272 DPS. Can someone add that to the chart?
Affecting Perks? Edit
I know the Burnmaster is not affected by the Pyromaniac perk but what about the others such as Bloody Mess & Ghoul Ecology? The "Perk effects" [Show] does not expand. I don't know if this is an error or intentional since there is no mention in the article about other perks. Thanks in advance. Philbert4114 (talk) 23:39, May 9, 2015 (UTC)
