Source? Edit

Where are those informations from? The discription and everything. All we know is that the Bozar is set to appear in the DLC, or did i miss anything out?

Bozar. Nitty Tok. 13:56, August 26, 2011 (UTC)
I know, I did play Fallout 2. But what if the characteristics are chaged? Maybe it's not even going to be full auto in New Vegas BlackHawk4744 10:01, August 27, 2011 (UTC)

Come on now. It wouldn't be the Bozar unless it WAS full auto.

if you see the image closely there are two Cartridges jumping out of the bozzar so it should be an automatic cause if wasn't the screenshot would have only one... about the characteristics we will only truly know when is will came out

If i recall... Edit

wasn't the full auto a mistake on the developers part on fallout 2? if they still include it as full auto wat'evs id like to see it return. glad they are retoring some old relics of pure fallout!

Hopefully useful.. Edit

I am hoping very hard that this outperforms FIDO. I want a scoped machine gun but i dont want it to look like a minigun.

Looks quite crap, actually. Lower damage than the regular LMG, apparently not even affected by Grunt, and I don't see how the scope is of any use whatsoever with a spread that high. Even the Perforator from FO3 was a better sniping weapon than this, and that was terrible for sniping.
Yeah. Been trying to get some use out of this thing and it's just plain mediocre. Low damage and high spread make it worthless for sniping. 5.56mm match helps offset the spread a bit but doesn't boost its low base damage enough, and if you aren't using 5.56mm AP against enemies with any sort of armour at all you might as well be shooting spitballs at them. Disappointing. Fully modded 12.7mm SMG is a much better automatic gun. Even the plain LMG is better, and that's not great. Might mod this thing to make it suck less, feels wrong for the bozar to be this weak.
Then, consider that it's clip is only a third the size of the plain LMG, and that it can't be modded to increase the clip size. This does not compliment the increased rate of fire and lower damage, and when combined with the Bozar's mediocre spread and large sway when scoped, leads to the Bozar attempting to fill too many combat roles at once, and ultimately failing at all of them. It needs to be patched to either be more specialized or to fill those roles better. As it currently stands, the Bozar is not worth the hefty ingame pricetag.
Amen. A big disappointment. I'd much rather have the anti-materiel rifle with all its new perks and ammo. One very weird thing too: there is often a noticeable lag between when the bullets must have hit the target and when the target goes down. It's like a very bad play when someone hesitates a bit before falling when being shot. "Oh yeah? Oh, I fall down now. Sorry!" Wunengzi 21:07, September 29, 2011 (UTC)

Sometimes I get really sick of people complaining about weapons having too high of a spread, just like how people complain about the automatic rifle, THIS IS NOT A SNIPER RIFLE, IN REAL LIFE, NON SNIPER OR MARKSMAN WEAPONS DO NOT HAVE SNIPER LIKE ACCURACY, GET USED TO IT! --Chaos Reigns 18:03, October 1, 2011 (UTC)

"The Bozar is the ultimate refinement of the sniper's art, an automatic sniper rifle with an ammunition capacity of 30x .223 or 5.56mm round." The first line of the description on the weapon's Wiki page. Obviously some people have a little difficulty with reading comprehension. The automatic rifle isn't advertised as a sniper rifle; the Bozar is. Wunengzi 02:33, October 19, 2011 (UTC)
Also, even if the Bozar was invented by mistake, there are real-world weapons that are reasonably similar - e.g. the HK417 which comes in a "sniper" version with 20" barrel and 1 MOA accuracy while still retaining full auto fire (and there's a 20" version, D20RS, of the 5.56mm HK416). Sure, you won't get "sniper like accuracy" from a HK417, but the Bozar itself is reasonable.
The HK417 sniper version also gets a 'accurized' barrel. Which is what gives it that 1 MOA. And also, it's a /select fire/ battle rifle. Battle rifles are generally pretty good for long range firing, not to mention when just using single fire modes. It's recommended to use the single fire mode when using the sniping variant, as full auto when sniping obviously isn't as accurate and has a lot of recoil and lift. --Mvm900 (talk) 23:33, February 27, 2013 (UTC)
At least the first shot should be accurate - during Vietnam war Gunnery Seargent Carlos Heathcock successfully used a scoped browning Cal. .50 heavy machine gun for long range sniping!
Meanwhile people fail to note that it's the round that pretty much allowed him to do so. As the MG used the .50 BMG round we know of today. --Mvm900 (talk) 23:33, February 27, 2013 (UTC)
The Bozar shots 15 bullets per second and only has a 0.75 spread (quite low but still...), no way you can try to snipe with such a weapon, it's far from a "automatic sniper machinegun", besides i think this is the only unique weapon that is WORSE than the non-unique version, it weaker than the light machine gun, i know it fires faster but that also means it BREAKS faster even with such a MUCH small magazine capacity and it's worth 20.000 caps!(no one can pay to repair that!) and Grunt perk doesn't work on it since it's from the GRA.
You probably shouldn't go full auto when legitimately sniping, for one. For two it's not a /real sniper rifle/. It's basically an LMG with a scope. You probably shouldn't be using it for ranges when an actual sniper rifle would work. --Mvm900 (talk) 23:35, February 27, 2013 (UTC)

I have no idea what all of you guys are talking about. The Bozar has the highest damage per second out of all the rifles in the guns and energy weapons skill. And the spread is very low for a fully atomatic gun in this game, it's half of the LMG's spread. With armor piercing rounds this gun is one of the best weapons against any enemy at close to mid range. And with hollow point ammuntion and a 100 in the guns skill the Bozar does 498 damage per second, which is enough to kill pretty much every unarmored enemy in the entire game. This is personally my favorite fully automatic weapon in the game. 06:29, June 26, 2012 (UTC)

I often see people arguing the merits of a weapon based on its DPS, but I find DPS to be an almost meaningless stat in this game. Damage per shot is far more important, and the Bozar's damage per shot is low. 0.75 spread simply isn't low enough for the scope to be anything more than cosmetic, and the small clip is awkward. For the price tag you'd expect a gun that's inarguably better than a regular light machine gun, but that's not what you get, as the LMG can inflict nearly 50% more damage per shot than the bozar. Oh well.
If you aren't looking for DPS, why are you even using a light machine gun to begin with? --Lolzarz (talk) 10:24, July 26, 2014 (UTC)

Recreation? Edit

To me it looks like the guy is holding a XL70E3 from Fallout 2

LMG? Really? Edit

Where are we getting a unique light machine gun out of this thing? I just bought it, and the only similarities are that they are both full auto and are both chambered for 5.56. Xarxes 14:42, September 27, 2011 (UTC)

  • Seems to me it is more of a unique service rifle with a different design, full-auto firing, and more mods from the description. GlassJAw667 18:03, September 27, 2011 (UTC)

- The name of the weapon in the GECK also happens to be NVDLC05WeapNVLightMachineGunUnique. Just saying. :)

It's the Bozar man, don't forget the sniper fonction ;). Itachou [~talk~] 18:16, September 27, 2011 (UTC)

This thing isn't affected by grunt?

   - Nope - I asked him here: Wallach 04:43, September 28, 2011 (UTC)

Critical Chance? Edit

If I am reading the stats correctly, the critical chance modifier is 1. Is that for each bullet? (Ex: if my crit% is 20%, each bullet fired from the Bozar will have a 20% chance to crit). Or is the Bozar like other automatic weapons where the % is reduced to compensate for the high firing rate? Dragofireheart 19:49, September 28, 2011 (UTC)

Grunt Perk Edit

I've seen the statements about Grunt not being applied to Bozar, Battle Rifle and 25mm Grenade APW given the reson that is because is a add-on perk, but what load of crap is this? Grunt is not applied to those weapons because it would've turned them into overkill ones. Lonesome Road is a perk introduced with a DLC and affects the weapons. Brfritos 15:32, October 1, 2011 (UTC)

'The Grunt perk does not affect the Bozar, GRA assault carbine, or 25mm grenade APW. In order to do so, Gun Runners' Arsenal would require Honest Hearts as a master .esm file, which would prevent the Arsenal from loading if one were to not have purchased Honest Hearts.'
Whereas Lonesome Road's perk 'Lonesome Road' increases your overall damage dealing ability. It multiplies all damage done by an extra 10%, whereas Grunt goes through and specifically modifies specific weapons.
Oh, and if you think Grunted Bozar is overkill, the Grunted Light Machine Gun would like to have a word. Nitty Tok. 15:41, October 1, 2011 (UTC)

Prefix. Edit

Is the "(GRA)" prefix really needed every time the gun is mentioned in this article? I mean it sounds silly, and I bet a fair number of people, other than me, find redundancy annoying.--O_O 17:01, October 30, 2011 (UTC)

I removed all the superfluous prefixes. Hugs MadeMan2 "Say 'ello to my little friend!"

Is not a sniper rifle. Edit

Bozar sucks. Is NOT a sniper rifle, as is said in this wiki. is expensive. Is heavy. I change my All American for that Bozar, and now regrets all the time. By the way, Can somebody tell the history or name origin of thr Bozar? 12:28, November 10, 2011 (UTC)

Well it's called a Sniper Rifle as that was the description in Fallout 2 and since it's the same weapon it gets the same description. Also, the name Bozar is unclear but I think it was written on the side of the Bozar in Fallout 2.

Of course it isn't a sniper rifle, the GECK ID for the Bozar is NVDLC05WeapNVLightMachineGunUnique ;)

Also, that's a bit stupid trading in the All-American for the Bozar...just find more caps so you cn try it, then if you don't like it, SELL IT. It's kinda simple... --Bottletopman 23:54, December 18, 2011 (UTC)

Now you regrets all the time? Haven't you heard of loading a previous save?

Weapon Evaluation Edit

Bozar is NOT a long-range weapon, despite its lesser spread than a regular LMG (even LMG with mods). Don't expect to hit enemies with a burst until they are closer range, and even then, the small 5.56 bullet don't go through armor that well.

Bozar, like the regular LMG, is a burst weapon: point it at target, then fire in short bursts of 5-10 rounds at a time. Keep the target at medium or closer range, though, and unless you can sneak up on a target, using VATS is not that efficient.

If you really want me to choose between this and the Survivalist's Rifle, I'd pick the latter (SR) instead of Bozar.

This weapon is a spit into the Fallout fans face Edit

Low damage, high spread and recoil, slow fire rate, low crit rate...and Light Machine Gun? For 20,000 caps?! Does bethesda think this is some sort of 9MM SMG with a scope? I was hugely dissapointed by what they did to BOZAR. Happily Fallout fans are still there to fix everything bethesda breaks bethesda also said that "hurr durr impossible to make Grunt to affect bozar coz derp derp derp" this was an ugly lie

It's not impossible... They don't let DLC's effect eachother. Or don't want. Anything is possible with a game, really. But it's easier to not have them interact. Also. It's not a bad gun at all, even. Don't hold the trigger and spray and pray. Try bursts.

Of course a mod can add Bozar to the Grunt perk form list. Since most folks using mods also use FOMM or some other load order manager, they can easily avoid load order bugs by ensuring that HH loads before the mod fix. Bethsidian can't do that. If you know how load order works, and how the game may load dlc in different orders, depending on how the user has downloaded the dlc, then you know what can happen when the dlc that adds the gun to the perk list is loaded before the perk list is loaded. If you don't, then this is just uninformed rage. The Gunny  380px-USMC-E7 svg 21:53, July 30, 2012 (UTC)
And you know that they could easily release a launcher hotfix that simply re-checks load order, right? They just really dont care.
There's tons of ways they could do this. They could simply have left some empty form lists in the shipped main game for future use with dlcs. The point is that we don't put stuff like that on articles. You can voice your opinions and gripes here, on a talk page, or start a blog if you want, but article space is solely for game-releted facts. They're not a vehicle to lambast the developers, only to chronicle the game as shipped. The Gunny  380px-USMC-E7 svg 19:45, July 31, 2012 (UTC)
This is true. But can you just add "Unoffical patch that fixes Grunt perk for BOZAR" to notes or references section?

──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── Only official content goes on the wiki, so nopes, that's not happening. Hugs MadeMan2 "Say 'ello to my little friend!"

deleted "works well with fast shot" Edit

it may or may not be so, but it's only an opinion and some people may disagree also the opposite could be true, someone might argue trigger discipline is better because of it's high rate of fire. this is a wiki
