'If you disarm the bomb, but don't kill Burke(?), he - or Burke in his name - will put out a Contract for Extermination on the player character.' Is there any evidence for this? I've noticed talon company mercs and regulators come after you if your karma gets too high or too low, and both will have contracts on them, but I don't believe killing burke or Tenpenny will have any effect on that. Mercury Zero 02:12, 24 November 2008 (UTC)

I agree with this. Talon Company Merns may carry a Private contract on me, but no Contract for extermination. Removing. --DarkJeff 18:40, 16 December 2008 (UTC)

I'm playing on 360 and the back door to the tenpenny tower suite is still unlocked so...

I'm Playing on the 360, and i kill Tenpenny with a sneak attack critical with Wazer Wifle, energy weapons skill about 20, and the guards don't notice, and gustavo doesn't declare himself owner of the tower. can anyone get the same results?

Lying, Congressional Style Edit

Based on the Tenpenny Tower article, I'm inclined to believe that Allistair sometimes has the book on him because he picked it up off his desk. Has anyone that actually looted it off him found the book on his desk as well? --DarkJeff 18:44, 16 December 2008 (UTC)

Empty Suite Edit

The article says that the Empty Suite is still even if you told blow up Megaton in "The Power of the Atom" quest. I just looked and saw both doors into the Empty Suite locked. Is this just old information and it got fixed with a patch or was it always wrong?--SemperxFidelis 23:00, 25 December 2008 (UTC)

Bias Edit

If you talk to Tenpenny you will notice that he is not a bigot, nor did he actively try to blow up Megaton. Burke was the one who wanted to blow up Megaton, Tenpenny never suggested it, all he did was say he didn't like the look of it. As for bigot, Tenpenny never really seemed to care.

Uh. If you talk to Tenpenny, you realize he *is* a bigot. He flat says, "I hate zombies" during "You Gotta Shoot 'Em In The Head." He is a dangerous psychotic, though, so the fact that he hates ghouls is the least of his problems. 17:32, September 8, 2009 (UTC)

The Dialouge tree relating to Megaton states the while Tenpenny did not think of blowing up Megaton, Burke brought him arround to the idea asthe bomb is "unstable" and 'it was inevitable'(paraphrasing on my part). Tenpenny does make a point of saying that he instructed Burke to encourage the townsfolk to leave before blowing the charge.- Khyrin 15:30, September 10, 2009 (UTC)

His bigotry was also evident during Tenpenny tower quest, though much more restrained and subtle. Tenpenny actually did think that Wanderer was insane trying to get Ghouls to move in his tower and only gave in when Wanderer promised to do damage control by persuading other tenants, figuring out that since he wouldn't interact them anyway, and other tenants are fine with it, he can just as well take their caps. It seems that he might also have other motives, since he casually remarked that he could always shoot those who get out of line, implying he was actually entertaining idea of hunting them later for his own amusement later.-- 02:35, August 16, 2015 (UTC)

Agree with claims of bias. Edit

There is also the fact that tenpenny is willing to accept ghouls into the tower as long as some of the other residents agree.

and look what happens if he lets them live there..exactly...a ghoul hater for good reasons lol.LuciusZelgius 07:26, 29 March 2009 (UTC)

actually...during the "You Gotta Shoot 'em in the Head" while talking to him about Crowley, at one point in the conversation, he says "I hate those shufflers", so he is a bit of a bigot. 'course, who can blame him? as for Megaton, I agree with what's been stated 02:33, 3 August 2009 (UTC)

tenpenny cant die? Edit

Well this is some sort of glitch in ps3 version, cause i cant kill tenpenny! I have tried everything all melee weapons and guns, but no!He still turn hostile on me when i try to kill him.I still have some other save games where i can kill tenpenny!--SURVIOR OF HOLOCAUST 16:33, 16 April 2009 (UTC)

bigot Edit

removed comment about him being a bigot. He had no problems with ghouls, and only kept them out due to his residents being bigots. The reference to shoot em in the head is irrelevent, as the people claimed to be biggots we acutally just former associates of crowley he hated. -DragonJTSLeave me a message 15:30, 1 May 2009 (UTC)

Acually, tenpenny will tell you he hates ghouls during "You gotta shoot 'em in the head". Tzaro the Outcast 03:11, January 18, 2010 (UTC)

Crowley only hated tenpenny, he didn't care if others lived or died. It was matter of pragmatism, since he wanted to make sure none of the others can get to the Fort Concstantine if they get the chance, all though his paranoia turned against him. Other associates of Crowley also confirm that Tenpenny hates ghouls and wondered how he got him on aboard. Besides, Tenpenny made subtle implications which meant that he hoped that his Ghoul tenants would try something so he could shoot them, meaning that he actually just invited them to move in so he could kill them.-- 02:47, August 16, 2015 (UTC)

trivia Edit

I think Tenpenny might be an allusion to Robert Neville of the movie "The Omega Man" rather than (or in addition?) to Amon Goeth. Neville in one scene shoots at "the Family", deformed humans (->ghouls), with a sniper rifle, wearing clothes similar in style to those of Tenpenny. Nordwut

I killed Tenpenny and I liked it Edit

Killing Tenpenny and throwing him of the tower is FUN! After you kill him then you throw yourself off then load back and do it AGAIN!

Hitmen? Edit

I couldn't find Tenpenny anywhere... but now I have both Talon Company Mercs AND Hitmen after me. is there any way to find tenpenny? His name is on the contract asking for me dead.

Unused Radio In G.E.C.K. Edit

I rewrote this section under Notes: "Tenpenny's first name "Allistair" is reminiscent of "Aleister", another name of British origins donned by Aleister Crowley in real life, who is alluded in-game with Tenpenny's opposite number in Underworld, Mister Crowley in the likeness of their scheming, hinting to some sort of chirality in their personalities, as one is the owner of Tenpenny Tower, the pedestal of luxury in the Wasteland, being some sort of "paradise", whereas the other ostensibly being an important figure in Underworld. If you check him on the G.E.C.K., he has his own radio and even his own recordings for it. The only way to hear the radio is to enable it on the G.E.C.K."

But I don't know what to do with those last two sentences. Is it Tenpenny or Crowley who has the unused radio recordings? I'd like to restore the interesting fact to the correct page.

BTW, I rewrote the paragraph mostly because it's barely readable. The only definition of "chirality" I can find has to do with molecular chemistry. And I can't quite get what the author was trying to say about the importance of the two men.--Gothemasticator 22:42, 14 July 2009 (UTC)

I think he's attempting to talk about Aliester Crowley, a proclaimed "sorcerer" and the "Most Wicked Man in the World." But sometimes I wonder how some of these people manage to survive daily tasks being completely illiterate.Killchain 06:48, September 3, 2009 (UTC)
Burger King doesn't require you to read. Spoon 09:12, September 3, 2009 (UTC)

Ghoul bigot Edit

He may allow the ghouls in if you convince the residents, but a speech path about Crowley leads him to say that he hates those "brain-eating shufflers."-- 08:02, 24 July 2009 (UTC)

Unconfirmed bugs moved from articleEdit

These bugs need to be confirmed by multiple editors before they can be reintroduced into the article. Please note what platform this happens on if you verify a bug. Remember multiple editors must confirm a bug.

  • After Tenpenny is dead, Gustavo will occasionally refer to him as being dead and at other times simply tell you to go talk to him for a solution. (unconfirmed)
  • If you kill Tenpenny, Mister Burke will take out his silenced 10mm pistol and begin to shoot you, even if you silently kill him while Burke is in another room. The guards don't care (even if they're up there). (unconfirmed)
  • Occasionally Tenpenny can completely disappear. If the player talks to Gustavo, he will act as though Tenpenny has died, despite the absence of a corpse. This can be especially damaging if the player intended to peacefully let the ghouls into Tenpenny Tower. However, if the player goes ahead and allows the ghouls to invade, Tenpenny's corpse can be found in his bathroom and can be looted as normal. If the player uses the console command to teleport himself to Tenpenny's refID, however, he will appear inside Tenpenny Tower's external geometry (a normally non-passable zone), and find Tenpenny's corpse lying on the ground. Apparently he fell through his balcony's floor all the way to the ground. However, even though Gustavo will still consider Tenpenny dead, Tenpenny can be resurrected or cloned, allowing the quest to be completed normally. (unconfirmed)
  • Tenpenny disappearing (possibly falling through the balcony and dying), can also accidentally help to complete the quest, You Gotta Shoot 'Em in the Head. Despite the fact that you did not kill Tenppenny, the quest notes will be checked off as if you did. This can then cause an odd situation if the 1.1 patch is installed after this, as Tenpenny will be brought back to life, but the quest notes will say that you killed him. (unconfirmed)
  • If you use a weapon with a knockdown effect (such as the Victory Rifle) and manage to knock Tenpenny over the railing of the balcony without killing him, he will fall towards the ground below and may then teleport back up onto the balcony. (unconfirmed)

bug? Edit

i think i found a bug he never goes to the toilet in the game

Nor do most NPCs.This isnt a bug in anyway. Also sign your posts.JASPER42 13:16, June 28, 2010 (UTC)

Howard Hughes?? Edit

"Tenpenny brings to mind Howard Hughes"??? Really? That's a bit of a stretch. Anyone agrees?? Setimir92 21:13, November 25, 2009 (UTC)

What's written up on the article page constitutes visual correlation (milk bottles, especially those lined up at the door) plus other context (wealthy recluse). Seems okay to me, and I'm picky about these things. Mind getting more specific?--Gothemasticator 21:30, November 25, 2009 (UTC)
Well, I never got any thoughts about him being anything like Howard Hughes, hell, even the 'town whore', Susan Lancaster doesn't go into his house. I guess if someone people see that then it's good to stay. Setimir92 21:41, November 25, 2009 (UTC)
I don't see how my addition wasn't worthy of being noted? If people are claiming that there are similarities to Howard Hughes, surely people are questioning how Tenpenny would have travelled across the Atlantic Ocean??? The mentioning that Howard Hughes was an aviator amongst other notable things isn't a reference like the other points, but suggests that that was how Tenpenny got across to America?! Its not like I was claiming it was true to the game's canon. I wasn't aware that speculation like mine, which in my opinion answers a few questions about the mysterious Tenpenny, was not allowed on this wiki.--Benxander 01:24, November 26, 2009 (UTC)
Yes, speculation is to be avoided on article pages. The article pages are supposed to be informative. People come here to get info. Speculation, while fun, is not information, so it belongs on talk pages and forum pages.--Gothemasticator 10:10, November 26, 2009 (UTC)
I wasn't even aware it was really that much of an issue when in the context it was given. But whatever, having encountered plenty of gigantic leaps of speculation before in this wiki, I'll now know to edit them out if not at least make yourself and other admins aware.-- 01:00, November 27, 2009 (UTC)

Did anyone actually confirm that Howard Hughes did all the things he's rumored to have done? I remember reading about the 'biographer' being discredited for essentially being a big fat liar.  :D 08:25, March 22, 2012 (UTC)

Re: bug? Edit

yeah no one in the game does that

n00b xD

you can only drink out of a toilet in Fallout 3. everyone should know that the only sit-able items in the game are chairs, couches and..... chairs... :)

Aleister Crowley Edit

I know Crowley is believed to have been named after Aleister Crowley, but is Allistair Tenpenny named after him too? After all, Tenpenny and Crowley are arch-nemeses so it would make sense. 01:10, July 1, 2010 (UTC)

Yes. If you check out Crowley's page, you will see the reference spelled out.--Gothemasticator 04:27, July 1, 2010 (UTC)

Bug Confirmation Edit

On the archived page there is an unconfirmed bug stating that if you kill Tenpenny silently, Mr. Burke will still try to kill you even if in another room. I can confirm this as he followed me into my suite and his head now decorates my shelf. HBS75.69.104.65 14:24, July 29, 2010 (UTC)

Is there any confirmation that he is English? Because he doesn't have an English accent, he has a well spoken American accent.

Amon Goeth reference Edit

"Tenpenny's "Wasteland Safari" is reminiscent of Amon Goeth, the concentration camp leader in the film Schindler's List. Goeth spends parts of his day sitting on the balcony of his large house looking out over his work camp and occasionally shooting workers."

The fact that they both fire a weapon off of a balcony is not worthy of mention. Mr Crowley serves drinks. Holy shit! That's reminiscent of when Vin Diesel pours himself a drink in 2 Fast 2 Furious! Someone write this shit down! Blestb 18:54, August 26, 2010 (UTC)

Say what now?! Shooting people from a balcony is as commons place as drinking alcohol?! Since when? Leo Star Dragon 1. 07:04, November 15, 2010 (UTC)

You don't seem to read crime reports. Suspect arrested for shooting gun off Bellingham balcony Youth Is Charged in a Deadly Random Shooting From a Balcony --Desyndra 11:16, November 15, 2010 (UTC)

Wasteland Safari Edit

When Tenpenny is undertaking one of his frequent 'Wasteland Safari's', does he actually shoot at anything? I have tried following creatures around the tower and attempted to pinpoint the location of his sniping but to no avail. Can someone confirm if he is actually shooting at anything when he is on a 'Safari'?

Whcih image is better? The left one is closer but with a arrow (cursor), while the one on the right doesn't have the arrow. MS: Destiny conquers all. 12:11, May 19, 2012 (UTC)

Killing Tenpenny Edit

Is is possible to kill Tenpenny from the actual wasteland floor? I can see his chair with the sniper rifle, but when i shoot nothing happens. I wonder if i use a missle launcher...nope, nothing happens. I woner why the game doesn't spawn him from down there and only up the balcony. --JSanchez55 11:07, June 12, 2012 (UTC)

New "Coming in at a certain angle will get you shot" noteEdit

As per the verification needed note, I thought I would add that in his AI package, Allister has three AI packages where he is told to shoot. Each of these targets floating markers in the TennpennyExterior01 cell specifically, nothing else. So unless he's attacked first perhaps, bugged, or maybe aggressive towards the player nothing in his AI packages specifically allows him to randomly target the player.Digital21 (talk) 19:08, June 10, 2015 (UTC)

Crossing the Atlantic Ocean Edit

If Allistair came from the U.K., then how did he manage to get across the Atlantic Ocean? The game talks about how planes are a thing of story and legend now and that seaworthy ships don't really exist anymore. SpecialJ11 (talk) 21:58, July 1, 2015 (UTC)
