Ammo Use[]

[Seems to me, the gun gives you infinite ammo with the currently loaded core. That is when the ammo gauge shows "cores-1/cores".

When you switch weapons, it defaults to a new core. This is when the ammo gauge shows "shots/cores". When you fire the weapon, it will crack open the new core, drain it down to less than 20, and switch the readout to "cores-1/cores"

Honestly, the weapon is pretty well balanced. Infinite ammo is awesome! Especially on Survival. On the other hand, the penalties are equally awesome. Can't swap weapons or you effectively lose a fusion core, hard to aim, laser's glare makes it hard to see if you are still hitting what you were aiming at, can't be suppressed, high weight, reduces run speed, terrible damage with high fire rate or merely poor damage with moderate fire rate, requires points in Big Guns, delayed fire due to 'spin-up', high VATs cost, recoil... Overall, not a weapon I can recommend (and I usually pack Rechargers in FO:NV and Doves/Infinities in Borderlands).] --73.187.231.228 22:33, October 15, 2016 (UTC)

Over on discussions, CreationKitNerd did a really nice video highlighting the mechanics in action and explained what was going on in this post, here. Going to condense the note they added down into the existing bug section where the issue has already been brought up. The Dyre Wolf (talk) 06:16, 15 May 2021 (UTC)

Say what?[]

How do you pronounce "Aeternus"? Does someone say it ingame? prolly Noobyorkcity (talk) 06:19, November 10, 2017 (UTC)

As far as I can find it is suppose to sound like "Ah-ter-nus". Though you might be better off checking google for the correct pronunciation. And no one says it in game. Rebel427 ~ I'll be your huckleberry 06:34, November 11, 2017 (UTC)
