When Sylvia's network port began to act up, Jacqueline Spencer offered to work on it. While searching for a replacement, Jacqueline found a hard disk that contained research about reactor efficiency. This caused conflict with the Institute, as they came seeking the information.
Sylvia loved Jacqueline like her own granddaughter and suggested to her father, Gerald, to flee the city and the Commonwealth before the Institute returned, but they did not follow Sylvia's advice. Although she did try to console Jacqueline in an email, which was eventually deleted.
Sylvia Cooper is mentioned only in Fallout 4.
