Switzerland was a European country prior to the Great War.
Background[]
The country was famously neutral in foreign affairs, so much so that people would still joke about it hundreds of years after the War.[2]
In 1869, a group of German and Swiss immigrants settled in West Virginia, founding the town of Helvetia. Further immigration from Switzerland and other parts of the country would bring the population to 308 by 1875.[3] Numerous Swiss flags can still be found in the town.[4]
Notes[]

- If the Lone Wanderer's karma is Neutral, Three Dog will make references to Switzerland.[2]

- The Swiss German dialect is mentioned as an incorrect answer to a question in the Pioneer Scout codebreaker exam.[8]
- Swiss cheese is mentioned by a vault dweller in the Fallout Shelter quest No Time for Paws.[9]
