Survivors, also known as helpless survivors, are residents of The Pitt who are stuck in The Trench. There are three types: the feeble survivor, the middling survivor and the resilient survivor.

- The Pitt: From Ashes to Fire - The final optional objective of this mission is to help the survivors to safety, of which three will spawn throughout The Trench. The player character must simply interact with the three survivors while they are still alive in order to direct them to a Union safehouse.

- The survivors' appearances are randomized and they do not have unique actor listings, only names applied to template NPCs.
