The submachine gun is a weapon in Fallout 4.
Background[]
The .45 submachine gun is often used by the Triggermen operating in the Commonwealth. The gun is also utilized by raiders and the Commonwealth Minutemen.
Characteristics[]
The submachine gun's high rate of fire can quickly damage enemies at the cost of having little individual shot damage, going through ammo rapidly, and having sub-par range. It is usually equipped with a 50-round drum magazine which can eventually be replaced by a 100-round drum.

Notes[]
- The submachine gun deals the same damage as a similarly modified automatic pipe gun, but with over double the potential ammunition capacity. Rounds are also found commonly, like the .38 rounds the pipe gun is chambered in.
- In the game files, the submachine gun's model is labeled "Tgun" and is in the combat shotgun's mesh folder.
- The submachine gun's actual base damage is 13, but the automatic receiver grants a damage penalty of 25%, while the hardened receiver has no penalty, and the powerful receiver has a damage bonus of 25%.
- Various posters and cutouts visible around the Commonwealth depict the submachine gun with a vertical foregrip, which is not an available attachment for the weapon in-game.
