Strangler bloom is a consumable item in Fallout 76.

Characteristics

A blossoming strangler pod supporting a white five-petaled flower. The base of each petal is dark purple with a green vein-like pattern. Each flower has three prominent speckled stamens and emits a distinct bright green glow, even after picking. Having blossomed from a strangler pod, the flowers can be found in many of the same swampy areas, growing on trees, rocks, and old stumps.

Strangler blooms can be consumed raw to satisfy a negligible amount of hunger with a medium dose of radiation and low chance for disease or can be cooked for additional benefits.

Locations

  • Strangler blooms are found in the Mire, by the river to the west and northwest of Dyer Chemical.[verified] They can be found attached to tree roots and tree stumps in place of strangler pods. They only appear after flushing the river with fertilizer during the quest An Organic Solution.
  • One or two strangler blooms may also be obtained as a rare reward for completing the Project Paradise event quest. Chance of obtaining is based on number of friendly creatures left alive: 12% for 1 left alive, 30% for 2, and 60% for all 3.
  • Chance to be sold by the food-selling scavenger trader.

Notes

  • Strangler blooms only spawn when a character who is at the correct stage of the quest An Organic Solution (Collect a Strangler Bloom or Craft a RadShield) enters the area, and persist from that point until the server restarts. Characters that have crafted a Radshield (completing the quest) will never trigger the Strangler Bloom spawn again. The surest method to acquire strangler blooms - besides having such a character - is to server jump (exit to menu and play) on Dyer Chemical until one finds a server where they have already been spawned. Please note that the game recognizes that the resource has been gathered once they are picked, so it will take looting 180 different items in order to pick them up again even if they appear in the game.
