Stimpak, or stimulation delivery package, is a type of hand-held medication used for healing the body. This item consists of a syringe for containing and delivering the medication and a gauge for measuring the status of the stimpak's contents. When the medicine is injected, it provides immediate healing of the body's minor wounds.

Health dispensers used during the Anchorage Reclamation, manufactured by Lee Rapid Pharmaceuticals, have an identical delivery method, which hints that stimpaks are also a product of the company.

Stimpaks are non-addictive, meaning there is no possible way to become addicted to them.

Stimpaks come in many shapes and colors.

FO3 stimpak

The regular version of the drug. It heals only minor wounds and, in some games, broken limbs. Normal stimpaks have no negative side effects.

Super stimpak

Chem SuperStim

An advanced version, while it heals more severe wounds, it also has unpleasant side effects. The super version comes in a hypodermic, but with an additional vial containing more powerful drugs than the basic model and a leather belt to strap the needle to a limb, an indication of a prolonged release infusion of the drug perhaps for increased absorption. The super stimpak is much less common in the wasteland than the standard stimpak.

Auto-inject (super) stimpak

Gameplay article: Lonesome Road

The auto-inject (super) stimpak is a modified stimpak which monitors vital signs, allowing for timely emergency treatment. It is used automatically from the player character's inventory when their hit points drop below 50% (25% auto-inject super stimpak) of current maximum level.

Gameplay article: Fallout 76

The stimpak diffuser releases a healing gas into the air which heals both the player character and their nearby teammates.

Ultra stimpak

Mini-FOT LogoThe following is based on Fallout Tactics and some details might contradict canon.

Even more advanced than a super stimpak, the ultra stimpak not only immediately heals both minor and major wounds, it also induces a strong continual regenerative effect in patients for an extended period of time after initial application. Ultra stims are, understandably, rare finds.

Health dispenser

Health Dispenser
Gameplay article: Operation: Anchorage

Health dispensers are stationary health stations found in the Anchorage Reclamation simulation, which might indicate that they were also used during the actual Anchorage Reclamation itself as well. Although immobile, they are reusable and more powerful than regular stimpaks, as they restore health to full no matter how low it is.

Behind the scenes

Equipment known as StimpacksIcon sic are also used by Terran infantry in the StarCraft universe. This was published the year after the original Fallout was. However, rather than healing, they increase the speed of the recipient, at the cost of causing damage to their physiology. "Stimpacks" are also an item that appears in the early titles of the Doom series; like in the Fallout setting, they are described as healing stimulants, and similarly, restore lost health.
