The sterilizer glove is a weapon in the Fallout: New Vegas add-on Old World Blues.

Characteristics[]

The sterilizer glove has a unique secondary effect that inflicts fire damage on a successful Critical Hit that will drain -2 HP for 5 seconds.

Compared to the standard scientist glove, it deals a similar amount of normal damage per strike at a moderate attack speed. Like all scientist glove variants, it inflicts the third-highest amount of critical hit damage of all unarmed weapons, at a 1x critical chance multiplier. It has a moderate AP cost along with the standard variant and corrosive glove (above Dr. Klein's glove and Dr. Mobius' glove), a low-end weight along with Dr. Mobius' glove (above the standard variant), the highest caps value of all its variants along with the corrosive glove, and the highest durability of all its variants. Like all scientist glove variants, it is considered an improved holdout weapon. It requires a 55 Unarmed skill level and 2 Strength attribute level to use effectively.

Visually, the weapon is similar in appearance to the standard variant except for having a scarlet-red color instead of teal-blue.

Locations[]

  • Old World Blues (add-on) Y-17 medical facility - Found in the cell block room to the right of the entrance, on a desk just in front of the door (requires the upgraded sonic emitter) in the east cardinal direction of Big MT.
  • Old World Blues (add-on) Found on Super-Ego after entering and leaving Y-17, located slightly southwest of it in the southeast ordinal direction of Big MT.

Notes[]

  • Taking the instance in Y-17 will cause three lobotomites to appear in the main room.
  • The weapon is one of the rarest non-unique weapons in the game, with a total of two being obtainable.
