Then that show doesn't go smoothly, and Zayde gets the message to never even dream about stealing from us again.

Stanley Soriano is a low-level mobster within the Lombardi Family in Atlantic City in Fallout 76, introduced in the Expeditions: Atlantic City update part two, America's Playground.

Background[]

Stanley Soriano claims to be a "handler of official business" for the Lombardi Family,[1] though in reality, he is a weak link in the mafia and an easily exploitable individual. His primary work involves watching over the distribution of the drug known as the Devil's Blood. He spends much of his free time at the high rollers lounge at the Neapolitan Casino.[2]

Stanley is known to be "empty-headed" and tends to inadvertently reveal too much information when questioned about subjects he is supposed to keep quiet about.[3][4] This lack of critical thinking is also seen in his gambling - he has been assigned a chaperone to watch over him while playing cards to protect him from cheaters,[5] as he does not find it suspicious when his opponent has three royal flushes in a row or when he is told his opponent has "special chips" worth double what his are worth,[6] despite being visually identical to his chips.[7] He also bets caps daily on a "lucky" slot machine[8] - the machine is broken and only takes caps, returning none of them.[9] If informed of this, he merely suggests that he will try a different machine (that has also been tampered with).[10]

Stanley's primary job with the Lombardi family is watching over the distribution of the Devil's Blood drug and ensuring that any theft is punished severely.[11] Recently, a Showman named Zayde used a contact inside the Lombardi family to steal some of the drug for himself.[12][13] Stanley is looking for someone to make an example of him - though he does not care whether this means death, mutilation, or disgrace.[14]

Quests[]

All the World's a Stage: Stanley is the main contact with the Lombardi family, and must first be convinced that the player is trustworthy, in one of the following ways:

  • Giving him a 5000 caps bribe
  • Convincing him with Charisma 12+
  • Having completed Tax Evasion at least once
  • Betting Stanley's caps on his "lucky" slot machine

He then sends the player to deal with Zayde. Upon completion, Stanley will keep his end of the bargain and give the Devil's Blood.

  1. Vault Dweller: "You're Stanley Soriano?"
Stanley Soriano: "You heard of me? Well, heh heh, as a matter of fact, I am Stanley Soriano. Proud father, handler of official business, and avid patron of this fine establishment. How can I help you?"
    (Stanley Soriano's dialogue)
  2. Vault Dweller: "Alright, you're the local here. Where do we get Devil's Blood?"
Evelyn Russo: "The best bet I can give you is a fellow named Stanley Soriano. He spends all his free time at the high rollers lounge in the Neapolitan Casino. Stan is a weak link. Make him feel important and he'll serve up practically anything on a silver platter."
    (Evelyn Russo's dialogue)
  3. Vault Dweller: "How do you know this guy?"
Evelyn Russo: "He's a former... friend of my husband. One of the most empty-headed coots I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. It's entertaining, really. Tell him anything and watch the words pass through a void."
    (Evelyn Russo's dialogue)
  4. Vault Dweller: "Did someone else steal Devil's Blood recently? A dark-haired young woman, perhaps?"
Stanley Soriano: "Now didn't I just say I got a tight ship to steer? Even if we did have such a doe snooping around the Family, who finally got too damn entitled for her own good, I wouldn't tell you nothin' about that."
Vault Dweller: "[Charisma 4+] Of course, of course. And you wouldn't tell me if the Family sent retribution after her, either, would you?"
Stanley Soriano: "Of course not. I wouldn't tell you how useless it would be to go after that little girl. We'd have to have a big damn reason to send guys that far away. And that girl ain't it. See, I wouldn't tell you about any of that. And that's why they count on Stan. You understand why, now that I've spelled it out for you?"
    (Stanley Soriano's dialogue)
  5. Vault Dweller: "[Charisma 8+][Lie] I need to get in there and keep my gambling partner out of trouble."
Doorman: "You mean to tell me that other guy wasn't Stan's chaperon? You'd better get in there quick. I think there's a game going already."
    (Doorman's dialogue)
  6. Stanley Soriano: "Royal flush again?! You must have the angels on your side, my friend."
Stanley's chaperone: "You mean you don't see it, Stan? He's playing you! Ain't nobody got that kind of luck."
Cheating gambler: "Oh, come on! You know I'd never play you, Stan! You're the man! You know what I love most about you, Stan? How much faith you put in your friends."
    Stanley's chaperone: "This is ludicrous."
*He then shoots the cheating gambler*
Stanley Soriano: "Ah, now what'd you go and do that for? You really think he was playing me?"
Stanley's chaperone: "Come on, Stan. Three royal flushes in a row? Now you grab that cash and take care of your family. I'm headed out."
(Lombardi Family's and Stanley Soriano's dialogue)
  7. Vault Dweller: "Sounded like an interesting card game."
Stanley Soriano: "Always a shame when you think someone's got your back, and turns out they're just playin' ya. But hey, crazy things happen all the time. Just last week someone was saying they had special chips worth double... but they looked exactly the same! Now what was the deal with that? At least put some gold flecks on 'em or something."
    (Stanley Soriano's dialogue)
  8. Vault Dweller: "You tell me. Surely there's some kind of favor I could do for you in return?"
Stanley Soriano: "Well, since you're so keen on helping Stan... Maybe there is something you could do for me. You know why I spend my time in the High Rollers Lounge? Ambition. My fortune's waiting in these walls. I'll give you a chance to help me find it. Take some of my caps and bet 'em at my lucky slot machine. This is a daily ritual, you see. A crucial one, but it takes me away from my place here at the lounge."
    (Stanley Soriano's dialogue)
  9. Stan's "lucky" slot machine eats the caps with no intention of returning them. This gullible mafioso must have no idea that the slots have been tampered with.
Note: this prompt occurs upon interacting with "Stan's 'Lucky' slot machine.
  10. Vault Dweller: "That slot's been tampered with, you know. It's not luck, just broken."
Stanley Soriano: "What? Tampered with? You mean all those years... all those caps... How could this be? Looks like I may need to find a different lucky slots. I've seen other ones with screwdrivers in 'em. I got a good feeling about those ones. See, it's like someone's trying to ward people off of 'em. Keep 'em away from the winnings. You taking notes?"
    (Stanley Soriano's dialogue)
  11. Vault Dweller: "Hold on, haven't I done enough already? Why do I still need to prove myself?"
Stanley Soriano: "So you can understand something real clearly. What you're about to do to young Zayde... That's what'll happen to you if you get any funny ideas about how to source more Blood. You want another taste? You gotta come through the Family. Officially. That's the lesson of this assignment."
    (Stanley Soriano's dialogue)
  12. Vault Dweller: "Do these thefts happen often?"
Stanley Soriano: "Often? No. The only way you get access is if we grant it, or if you're one of us. Zayde had a friend on the inside. One who's already been dealt with, so don't you worry about that."
    (Stanley Soriano's dialogue)
  13. Vault Dweller: "I need a hook-up. The strong stuff."
Stanley Soriano: "Whoa there! Now I can hook you up with all kinds of chems, but as for the Blood... What makes you think a nobody like you should get access to Atlantic City's most sought-after chem?"
Vault Dweller: "[Charisma 12+] Because I knew that Stan the man would be able to hook me up with anything. You've got that power, right?"
Stanley Soriano: "Well, absolutely, that I do, that I do. Stan's been given an important job here, managing this stuff. And I think you deserve a taste of the best our city has to offer. But first you'll have to prove yourself trustworthy. Provide service for the Family, and you'll be rewarded. Cross the Family... and you end up on our hit list. See, a young Showman known as Zayde stole some Blood from our stores a few nights back. He's got a show on tonight. And those who don't respect our rules don't get to live freely. You want the Blood? Then that show doesn't go smoothly, and Zayde gets the message to never even dream about stealing from us again."
    (Stanley Soriano's dialogue)
  14. Vault Dweller: "Are you asking me to kill him?"
Stanley Soriano: "Broken, mutilated, utterly disgraced, dead. Don't matter to me, long as the message gets sent. Of course, dead guarantees that. But if you wanna take the risk of disappointing us, that's on you."
    (Stanley Soriano's dialogue)
