South River is an unmarked river in the Skyline Valley region of Appalachia in Fallout 76, introduced in the Skyline Valley update.

Layout[]

South River can be seen on the world map, and is situated on the southern side of the Shenandoah National Park, now part of Skyline Valley.

It originates from Camp Liberty, where the river flows out of a large pond used by the former summer camp, stemming from waterfalls there. The waterway flows west, under the South River Bridge, which serves as the main crossing over the river. It meets another waterfall before continuing past the Slumber Mill Motel. An abandoned tent overlooks the river nearby. The river then makes a turn southward, where it continues on past the boundaries of the Appalachian game world.

Appearances[]

South River appears only in Fallout 76, introduced in the Skyline Valley update.

Behind the scenes[]

South River is based on the real-world South River, which is a tributary of the south fork of the Shenandoah River, which is itself a tributary of the Potomac River, which also appears in-game.
