The Sole Survivor's house is an unmarked location within Sanctuary Hills in Fallout 4.
Background[]
Before the Great War, this house was the residence of the Sole Survivor, their spouse Nate/Nora, and their son Shaun who all lived in the house together. Shortly before October 23, 2077, the family bought a Mister Handy named Codsworth to help with household duties and raising the infant Shaun.
On October 23, after seeing news reports of nuclear warheads detonating in New York and Pennsylvania, the family left for Vault 111. However, as robots were excluded from the protection of Vault 111, Codsworth remained alone at the house for the next 210 years, waiting for his owners to return.
After the Sole Survivor leaves Vault 111 to try and find the kidnapped Shaun, they can discover the ruined state of Sanctuary and reunite with Codsworth as he is trimming the dead shrubbery outside their home, where he would point them toward Concord to look for help finding their missing son.
Layout[]
This home is an example of the House of Tomorrow design concept. It consists of an open-plan lounge and kitchen, with a hallway leading to the laundry room, bathroom, closet, Shaun's bedroom, and master bedroom.
Notable loot[]
- Grognak the Barbarian issue #3 – On top of the kitchen counter.
- You're SPECIAL! – In Shaun's bedroom, under the dresser.
Notes[]
- Originally there was a terminal inside the house that would contain notes from both the Sole Survivor and their spouse. However, this was cut from the final game.
- The Vault-Tec van is no longer present post-War.
- The house appears in the ending slides.
- The letter blocks on the shelf in Shaun's pre-War bedroom can potentially spell out "ICBM."
- The Sole Survivor can interact with Shaun's crib. Upon pushing the interaction button, they will say "I'm coming, buddy" if the Sole Survivor is male or "I'm coming, sweetheart" if the Sole Survivor is female.
Appearances[]
The Sole Survivor's house appears only in Fallout 4.
