Solar Powered is a perk in Fallout: New Vegas.

Effects[]

Taking this perk grants a temporary bonus of +2 to Strength and regeneration of HP at a rate of 1 point every 30 in-game seconds (1 second real-time) when one is outdoors between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Notes[]

  • The perk pairs well with Rad Absorption for a combined healing minor health damage and minor radiation poisoning.
  • Because the perk increases Strength, which results in an additional 20 lbs. added to one's total Carry Weight, if one's inventory capacity is more than 20 pounds close to the maximum threshold, upon entering any indoor area or after the clocks reaches 6 p.m., the additional 20 pounds will negate and they will become overencumbered unless their Strength (without the bonus) is already 10. This includes bonuses from equipment, chems, other perks, etc.
  • At launch, the perk's health regeneration effect was 1 HP every ten seconds like in Fallout 3. This was amended to 1 HP per second in a later patch.[citation needed]
