The soda fountain and soda fountain prototype are constructible settlement objects added in the Fallout 4 add-on Vault-Tec Workshop.

Characteristics[]

There are four variants of the soda fountain: the unique prototype built during the quest The Watering Hole and configured through a terminal, and three generic variants that can be built after the quest depending on what parameter was applied to the prototype.

Each variant requires 2 Power and an assigned settler to function.

As with the slot machine, all settlers will periodically visit it to get a drink once it is operational including guards and off duty vendors.

Crafting[]

The prototype is located in the Special section of the workshop crafting menu during the quest The Watering Hole. Once the quest is finished, the soda fountain is located under Resources → Vault and can be built in any settlement.

All variants require the same materials to build.

Variant 1 – Mood Enhancer[]

The soda fountain will generate 15 points of happiness for the settlement.

Choosing this option along with "Shock Parameters" and "Buffout Parameters" for the Power Cycle 1000 or subliminal messaging and vault monitoring for the phoropter will cause the first settler that joined the vault to leave in protest.

Variant 2 – Appetite Suppressant[]

The soda fountain will generate 5 points of happiness and 1 unit of food.(1% chance of death for non-essential settler per day).

Choosing this option will make Clem serve the first settler to join the vault, and at the end of this request she will say that she's "Stuffed," and has only eaten a singular pea,(which considering these are nowhere to be found in the wasteland is an interesting choice of words) after which Clem will console her by offering more soda, which she accepts.
