The Sniper's nest is a location in the Mojave Wasteland. The Gobi Campaign scout rifle can be found there in a footlocker with a very hard lock (requires 100 lock picking). A Sunset Sarsaparilla star bottle cap can be found on the Wooden bench.

Layout

It is made of three rusty galvanized metal sheets with two for the sides and one for the roof, and has enough room for one person sleeping when other one was on duty. There is also a small camouflaged net where a sniper(s) could lay hidden and attack the Legion settlement at Cottonwood Cove. It is possible to reach the shack without alerting the Legion.

In addition to the Gobi Campaign scout rifle here, which is well worth getting, there are .308 rounds, a Sunset Sarsaparilla Star Bottle Cap, Pre-War Money, Wonderglue, and a bed and campfire at this location.

Appearances

Sniper's nest appears in Fallout: New Vegas.

Notes

It is possible that this is the location where Craig Boone performed the mercy-killing of his wife (Carla Boone) after she had been kidnapped and enslaved by the legion, as there is a clear view of Cottonwood Cove, which is a known slave camp.

The player may use this shelter as a secondary house as there is a bed, a camp fire and safe metal boxes. The gun case in which the Gobi Campaign scout rifle is kept in is also safe to store your items in once picked. The ammunition boxes do not seem to reset either.
