Note that every settler will play it once in a while, including guards, vendors, and provisioners who will sometimes leave their posts to play. Having guards who are playing and not in their posts have no penalty of the settlement defense value, but it may cause them to be not where you want them if enemies attack your settlement, especially at night when everyone else are asleep and they are free to use the machines unlike the [[soda fountain]] which they can't use if the soda operator has gone to bed. Having more machines will multiply this effect since it means more guards can play at the same time.
