The silenced .22 SMG is a weapon in Fallout: New Vegas.
Characteristics[]
A pan-magazine-fed, silenced submachine gun chambered for .22LR rounds. It has a high rate of fire and a capacity of 180 rounds, which can be increased to 240. However, the SMG shares the common weakness of most shotguns and automatic weapons in Fallout: New Vegas, in that much of its theoretical power can be negated by the value of an enemy's DT. In addition to losing much of its potential damage output, the high spread of this weapon requires the user to be at close range for the best chance to hit the target with all of the rounds in the magazine.
It is a distinctive weapon with its pan magazine, which sits atop the gun rather than under. The silencer is integrated into the barrel with no modifications required.
Durability[]
The silenced .22 SMG can fire a total of about 4,995 standard rounds, the equivalent of 28 reloads, from full condition before breaking.

Locations[]
- Gun Runners - Sold by Vendortron.
- Lakelurk cove - May randomly spawn in one of two duffle bags at the extreme southeast of the map, east of Blue Paradise Vacation Rentals.
- The Tops - The Chairman greeter will usually have it equipped. Two or more of Benny's bodyguards will be equipped with one during Ring-a-Ding-Ding! (only when they reside on the gambling floor; if the player character is ambushed inside the presidental suite, they will instead be equipped with silenced .22 pistols).
- Vault 3 - Found on several Fiends.
- Morning Star Cavern - May randomly generate on the mercenary or in his duffle bag.
Notes[]
- With the expanded drums mod equipped, the weapon's iron sights will appear to be slightly modified, being raised slightly higher to accommodate the larger pan magazine.
- This weapon is one of the rarest in the game without Gun Runners' Arsenal installed, as it will have a mere two fixed locations and otherwise will only spawn randomly in duffle bags.
- Similar to the 12.7mm SMG, the silenced .22 SMG is one of few weapons that have its own unique reload animation. No other gun in the game shares its reload animation, nor does it have a unique counterpart.
- The weapon does more damage per pound of ammo than any other automatic gun in Hardcore mode, at 1,184/lb.
