Shane Liesegang, SJ, is a developer who worked at Bethesda Game Studios on Fallout 4 as an additional quest designer and writer. He also served as an uncredited playtester for Fallout 3 add-ons.

Career[]

Shane worked in the video game industry for over a decade, including at companies like Sony Santa Monica and EA Los Angeles, before becoming a Jesuit Scholastic. During his time at Bethesda Game Studios, his largest contributions were to 2011's The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.[1]

Work on the Fallout series[]

When Liesegang was hired at Bethesda, the team was wrapping up work on Fallout 3's add-ons. He performed minor playtesting work for the add-ons in an uncredited development role. During the development of Fallout 4, Liesegang left Bethesda in 2013, two years before the game released. Although some of his initial design work was passed on to other developers, he was still credited as an additional quest designer. In a 2018 interview, Liesegang said he had not actually sat down and played Fallout 4 yet, so he was unsure of what became of his early contributions to the game.[2] However, parts of his scripting can still be found in the game's files.[3]
