Jesse Heinig initially wanted to add a special result of the Nuka-Cola Truck random encounter for low Luck characters, in which "when you searched the truck, "The overturned truck is full of bottles and... caps! Bottlecaps! Thousands of them! You're rich! You're... wait, they're Shafta cola, they're worthless."" However, this idea was not realized in the final version of the game.[1]
"Shafta" was a reference to the real-world Shasta brand of soft drinks.[2]
