The Series 1000 shelter was a type of nuclear fallout bunker designed by the Vault-Tec Corporation.
Background[]
It was a one-level, extensive subterranean installation, of which the exact purpose is unknown. Its blueprint is used as the town map for Vault 15 in Fallout 2. The Series 1000 shelter appears to be a basic shelter that can be set up at a very low cost, providing far poorer protection than a Vault.[Fallout 2d20 1]
Notes[]
Vault-Tec shelters reappear in the Fallout 76 update Steel Dawn, although it is not known if they are Series 1000 shelters or simply an additional product.
Appearances[]
The blueprint for the Series 1000 shelter appears only in Fallout 2 and is mentioned in Fallout: The Roleplaying Game.

- ↑ Fallout: The Roleplaying Game Rulebook p.250: "After a demo vault was opened to the public in Los Angeles, near the Vault-Tec headquarters, public enthusiasm helped fund the junk bond drive that funded the rest of construction. It was a ray of hope in a profoundly dark time. Those too far from a full vault could buy a Series 1000 shelter, a one-level subterranean mini-vault priced more reasonably for a small corporation or medium-sized community."
